Assassin’s Creed Shadows Nominated For Most Wanted Game At Golden Joystick Awards

Most Wanted or Most Hated?

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been nominated for the Most Wanted Game category at Golen Joystick Awards.
  • Other nominees include games like GTA 6, Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, Death Stranding 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
  • You can vote up to three of your most wanted games in this category.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is arguably the most controversial and hated game of this year. The game hasn’t even been released yet, and the hatred behind it is unreal. Ubisoft is the only one to be blamed for the massive controversy still surrounding this title

Due to recent failures, the company decided to delay the upcoming Assassin’s Creed and release it on day one on Steam in early 2025. However, fans are still pretty angry; especially the Japanese fans

Despite that, it has been nominated as the Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024.

Why it matters: The controversy surrounding Assasisn’s Creed Shadows isn’t going anywhere soon, so fans are confused about how this game could be nominated in such a category.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Most Wanted Game
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has Been Nominated As The ‘Most Wanted Game’ At Golden Joystick Awards 2024

20 games have been nominated in this category, and AC Shadows is among them. This might raise some eyebrows as games like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers aren’t even on the list. However, the rest 19 games seem to have been among those that fans have been anticipating for a while now.

Games like Deadlock, Ghost of Yotei, Atomfall, Death Stranding 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, GTA 6, Indiana Jones, Fable, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Mafia: The Old Country, Skate, Doom: The Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are also nominated and they deserve to be.

So, looking at the other nominees, it seems like the nominations are fair, but fans might not be able to wrap their heads around the ‘apparent fact’ that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the most wanted games

The game is reportedly suffering from poor pre-orders, and the Yasuke controversy is continuing. Even after a lot of hate, Ubisoft has no intentions of changing the main lead, but it might tone down Yasuke’s role.

Nonetheless, we hope the game doesn’t suffer much from the controversy and Ubisoft goes back to its roots.
