  • The fandom didn’t like this company before, so now it is going to trigger a lot of controversy.

Sweet Baby Inc. has recently become popular in the gaming industry, but not in a good way. This company is actually hated by the majority of the fandom as it adds forced diversity and inclusivity into games.

The fandom isn’t really fond of this and thinks that such a company shouldn’t deserve to be involved in the gaming industry. That said, the malice wasn’t really shown as intended literally, but now the company has. One of the major employees of Sweet Baby Inc. has recently confirmed that his goal is to burn the games industry to the ground

Why it matters: Millions of people over the globe play video games daily as it helps them overcome many things in life and serves as a source of peace for many. So, a threat to destroy something like that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

YouTube video

Games Dev of Color Expo posted a persentation, “How to Get Away With Murder Subverting Genre Expectations,” in which Camerin Wild discusses the goals of Sweet Baby Inc. in detail. He is a narrative designer and sensitivity reader for the company.

Wild has worked on titles like Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, Alan Wake 2, and God of War: Ragnarok. During the presentation, a slide titled ‘Cool, so why am I here?’ shares the really disturbing and concerning goal of the company

The slide consists of three bullet points, and one of them states that the company aims to burn the gaming industry to the ground. Fans have been pointing out that this company isn’t good for their beloved industry and is slowly destroying it.

However, many developers have partnered with it, which worries the fans even more. Recently, Square Enix ended its contract with this company, which the fans really appreciated.

Wild said that many of them are fighting for more inclusive games, which doesn’t seem like a good idea. A recent hit like Black Myth: Wukong also received low scores just because it didn’t feature a lot of diversity and inclusivity.

Recently, Concord also became the biggest failure in the history of gaming. One of the major reasons for its failure was none other than the heavy influence of Sweet Baby.

Fans are unlikely to let this slide as this is a threat to their beloved gaming industry. We hope things turn out in the favor of the games industry.
