XPG Introduces HURRICANE MAG Magnetic Fans

[Press Release] XPG HURRICANE MAG magnetic fan brings practical innovation to PC cooling. Shown at COMPUTEX 2025, it’s designed for users who want control, performance, and quiet operation in one package.

A key feature is the manual control of airflow direction. With a simple button on the cable controller, users can instantly reverse the fan direction. This helps fine-tune airflow without requiring BIOS or software changes, making it helpful in adjusting setups or cleaning dust buildup.

The 6-pole motor improves stability and lowers noise. Unlike traditional motors, it reduces vibration and allows smoother operation, even at higher speeds.

The patented dual-spin blade design maintains strong airflow in both directions. Most fans lose performance when reversed, but this one maintains high pressure and airflow. It also helps lower noise and works well with radiators, heatsinks, and small case setups.

The XPG HURRICANE MAG outperforms standard 120 mm fans in airflow and cooling, lowers GPU and CPU temperatures under load, and remains below 25 dBA. Built with durable materials, anti-vibration pads, and clean cable management, the fan installs easily. It works with standard PWM headers and fits most cases without issue.

Switch 2 Will Sell More Units This Year Than All Other PC Gaming Handhelds Combined

Story Highlight
  • Switch 2 sales in a year will surpass those of all PC gaming handhelds combined.
  • Currently, 56% of Steam Deck owners also use a Switch console.
  • The Switch 2 is expected to sell more than 15 million units in the first year of launch.

We’re just one day away from Switch 2’s launch, which is set to be the biggest console launch ever. The follow-up to 2017’s handheld by Nintendo is eagerly awaited by many and will also enter the AAA gaming market.

Sales for the handheld are already expected to go through the roof. Now, an analyst has come up with another exciting prediction that the Switch 2 sales for just this year will be bigger than other PC gaming handheld sales combined.

Why it matters: Nintendo’s comeback with the Switch console is one of the greatest in console history. The sequel to the handheld will be the largest in history, surpassing even PlayStation or Xbox.

This report comes straight from leading firm analyst Ampere. The same report also reveals that 56% of the Steam Deck users also currently own a Switch device. Moreover, only 1.3% of Switch owners consider Steam Deck to be their primary console.

Currently, the Switch console is considered a secondary handheld, with most owners using an Xbox, PlayStation, or PC as their primary gaming device. That may change in the future with the Switch 2 console, which is expected to feature support for AAA games with improved hardware.

Next Resident Evil Game Reveal Reportedly Set For This Week

Story Highlight
  • New reports claim to be confident that Resident Evil 9 will be showcased this week.
  • The game is also expected to launch within the next year, with Capcom potentially eyeing a March 2026 window.
  • Multiple gaming showcases will go live soon, so fans should stay tuned for official details.

Resident Evil 9 has been the talk of the town forever at this point, but official news regarding the title remains nearly non-existent. As per an insider, Capcom’s optimization efforts and plans to reinvent the series are largely to blame for this delayed announcement, but a reveal is more or less confirmed for 2025.

Ahead of the multiple showcases coming this week, new reports have once again discussed Resident Evil 9. It seems Capcom has already decided to show off the next Resident Evil title later this week.

Why it matters: Following the success of the last big remake in this series, fans are excited to jump into a new chapter of Resident Evil.

As per YouTuber Screenfire Gaming, Resident Evil 9 will officially make an appearance at Summer Game Fest 2025. For context, this event, which goes live on June 6, promises multiple new announcements.

The YouTuber also suggests that Capcom will release the game next year during the first quarter. This could mean that Resident Evil 9 will already be available by the time this series turns 30 years old in March 2026.

Backing the claim, sources from the reliable website MP1st suggest that this report is indeed accurate. Although the release window remains unconfirmed, plans for an official debut seem set in stone for now.

Capcom’s flagship franchise has been doing better than ever since the release of Resident Evil 7 in 2017. Rumors suggest the upcoming entry is aiming for a similar shakeup to the core formula, with the studio eyeing another record-breaking success.

At the time of writing, Summer Game Fest is just two days away, so fans won’t have to wait too long to verify the reports. None of Nvidia RTX xx80 or xx90 Series Cards Are Among Steam Top GPUs

Story Highlight
  • A survey shows that Nvidia RTX xx80 or xx90 series cards aren’t popular on Steam.
  • Instead, the list is dominated by low and mid-tier cards like the xx50 or xx60 series.
  • This is mainly due to high prices and poor value for money with the high-end cards.

Since the launch of the RTX series cards, Nvidia has been highly criticized for inflating the prices of its GPUs. The same was the case with the latest RTX 5000 series, where the highest-end RTX 5090 now costs above $2000.

However, according to a survey, people aren’t really buying the RTX xx80 or xx90 series cards; instead, the list is dominated by entry- or mid-end cards, such as the xx50 or xx60 series.

Why it matters: Highest-end GPUs have become so expensive that not everyone can afford them, plus they provide poor value for money, which essentially reveals why mid-tier cards are so popular.

The Steam survey shows RTX xx80 and xx90 cards aren’t popular at all.

According to the Steam survey, none of the RTX xx80 or xx90 series cards are popular among Steam users. The most popular card, even four years after its launch, remains the RTX 3060, although it was briefly dethroned by the RTX 4060.

The trend is quite similar for the rest of the list, too, where you see GPUs like 4060 Ti, 3060 Ti, RTX 2060, GTX 1650, and more among the popular ones. At the 21st place is the RTX 3080, which provides decent value in 2025.

The primary resolution for most gamers is still 1080p.

Additionally, since over 55% of gamers still use 1080p, around 20% use 1440p, and just 4% use 4K, mid-tier cards make more sense. While the RTX 3080 is a high-end card, the requirements have become so demanding that even it is now mostly suitable for 1440p.

Nonetheless, this proves the point that GPU prices need to come downAdditionally, despite AMD offering better value for money than Nvidia, players still prefer the latter due to its superior software features and support.

Gameplay Footage Shown At Unreal Fest Wasn’t Witcher 4 Gameplay But A Tech Demo

Story Highlight
  • CD Projekt Red recently revealed footage showcasing Witcher 4 gameplay.
  • However, the developer confirmed that it was just a tech demo, not the game’s gameplay.
  • While fans should keep their expectations in check, this is what the developer hopes to achieve.

CDPR recently showcased a really compelling footage of The Witcher 4, one of the most anticipated titles. The tech demo showcased impressive gameplay with a high level of detail. The demo revealed that every NPC was reacting differently to Ciri, and CDPR even changed the main protagonist’s highly criticised looks

However, the developer has recently confirmed that this is just a tech demo; it doesn’t feature the actual gameplay of the game

Why it matters: Fans got extremely excited over the cool details and gameplay revealed at the State of Unreal 2025, but this news may devastate their expectations.

CD Projekt Red confirmed to VGC that the footage shown at the State of Unreal wasn’t Witcher 4 gameplay. It was a tech demo set in the game’s world

This is a tech demo, and a first look at the cutting-edge technology powering The Witcher 4 – but not The Witcher 4 itself. “It showcases the powerful foundation we’re building in close collaboration with Epic Games to push open-world design further than ever before and the core systems and features we’re developing using Unreal Engine 5.

-Spokesperson

This footage isn’t from the game itself, so fans shouldn’t expect the game to look exactly like this. The footage shows the potential of what the game can look like on the PlayStation 5, and as the spokesperson has said that this is the foundation they are trying to build in collaboration with Epic Games, it may be possible.

The Witcher 4 Ciri
Ciri Looks Way Better In The Recent Footage Revealed By CDPR

After the footage was shown, some fans were already skeptical that these NPC interactions aren’t real, mainly because of the Cyberpunk 2077 E3 Demo. Fans still suffer from the PTSD of what happened with Cyberpunk 2077, so they aren’t to be blamed; however, hopefully, CDPR can create something truly deserving of praise.

If CD Projekt Red manages to deliver exactly what was shown in the footage today, the gaming industry will evolve.

New God Of War Spin-Off Reportedly A 2.5D/Metroidvania Game

Story Highlight
  • Insider states that the new God of War spin-off title is a 2.5D/Metroidvania game.
  • Another insider backed this claim, and a reveal could potentially come at the upcoming State of Play.
  • The Metroidvania approach worked quite well for Prince of Persia and will likely work for God of War as well.

Now that the Norse saga is finally over, many are speculating which direction the God of War franchise will head towards. Recent rumors have suggested that the next entry would be a spin-off title, much like God of War: Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus.

While details on the project are scarce, an insider has now suggested that the spin-off would be a 2.5D/Metroidvania game, much smaller in scale.

Why it matters: God of War spin-off titles have been amazing, telling more stories about the Ghost of Sparta. It’s been more than a decade since the last spin-off was released, and a new one is needed more than ever.

Details On The Next God Of War Title || Source: X

This claim comes straight from Tom Henderson, who previously revealed that a God of War spin-off title was in the works. Jeff Grub, another insider, has backed this claim in a reply.

Aside from this spin-off title, a remaster/remake of the original trilogy was also reported to be in the works. However, it’s been a while since that rumor sparked, with no further information to support the claim.

PlayStation has announced a State of Play for 4 June, ahead of the Summer Game Fest, so expect a few notable announcements from the gaming giant then. As such, the said God of War spin-off title could be unveiled there.

With regards to the metroidvania genre, God of War could really benefit from such an approach. Many doubted Ubisoft for making the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown a metroidvania game. However, they were proved wrong with the title’s immense success.

Fans Are Overjoyed With CDPR Listening To Their Feedback And Changing Ciri’s Face

Story Highlight
  • CD Projekt Red received a lot of criticism from fans for making Ciri appear somewhat masculine.
  • Now, in a new tech demo showcasing The Witcher 4 on Unreal Engine 5.6, Ciri looks a lot different.
  • She looks closer to what she looked like in The Witcher 3, which has the fandom thrilled.

The Witcher 4’s reveal was arguably one of the biggest ones in the gaming industry, mainly because of how well the third part is still treated. The reveal was met with many positive impressions, but a massive amount of fandom was disappointed

They were disappointed because, according to them, Ciri looked more masculine than feminine. Now, recently, more Witcher 4 goodness was revealed, and from the looks of it, CDPR listened to the fandom’s feedback and changed Ciri’s face.

Why it matters: Playing as a female lead that isn’t appealing often sparks controversy. Intergalactic is another example of such controversy.

The Witcher 4 Ciri's face improved
Ciri’s New Look In The Witcher 4 Is What The Fans Initially Wanted

While fans were previously upset, they are absolutely thrilled over the fact that CDPR listens to their feedback and has made Ciri look a lot more feminine. She now looks close to what she looked like in The Witcher 3

Totally lowered and softened the cheekbones. Definitely changed her to be more feminine.

Looking badass and feminine. Still wondering how they’ll explain away the Witcher transformation. Maybe that’s part of the game story.

-Fans

While fans are pretty happy, there are still some concerns. A lot of fans are concerned about whether CDPR fixed the lore, too. It seems like the fandom thinks that Ciri can never be a Witcher, which ruins the story for them.

However, if you read the books, then it is open to the reader’s interpretation whether Ciri can become a Witcher or not. The books don’t explicitly state whether Ciri undergoes the trial, but it doesn’t dismiss it either.

So, there shouldn’t be much concern here, as in-game, there would be some lore explaining why and how Ciri was able to become a Witcher.

Next issue lore. She can be the main character but she can not be a Witcher.

An improvement, but she’s still a poor choice for Witcher 4. Her story ended in Witcher 3.

-Concerned Fans

Ciri Looks Closer To Her Witcher 3 Counterpart In New The Witcher 4 Gameplay Footage

Story Highlight
  • The new State of Unreal presentation revealed over 10 minutes of new cinematic and gameplay footage of The Witcher 4.
  • The gameplay and cutscenes reveal that Ciri looks closer to her Witcher 3 counterpart compared to the criticised reveal trailer version.
  • Either Ciri’s model has been secretly updated after criticism, or she actually just looked awkward in the first trailer.

Despite controversies, fans were patiently waiting for new updates on The Witcher 4 after the reveal trailer. And after yesterday’s abrupt announcement by CDPR, the RPG has finally unveiled gameplay for the first time in the State of Unreal that spans nearly 10 minutes.

While the gameplay shows the allure of Unreal Engine 5, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Ciri looks a lot closer to her Witcher 3 counterpart in the new Witcher 4 cinematic and gameplay scenes when compared to her model back in the reveal trailer.

Why it matters: After a motley of criticism and drama regarding Ciri’s updated appearance in The Witcher 4 reveal trailer, the new gameplay footage shows that she might look a lot closer to her Witcher 3 counterpart than we were led to believe.

Ciri’s face looks noticeably more feminine with a more natural jawline during the new Witcher 4 cutscenes and gameplay. The comparison below reveals that she more closely resembles her Witcher 3 model than the one we saw in the initial reveal trailer.

Old Ciri on the left side vs. new Ciri on the right side.
Old reveal trailer Ciri on the left side vs. the new Ciri model on the right side.

This development suggests that CDPR has likely updated her character model after facing a motley of criticism from fans, a sentiment the team previously openly rejected.

The more grounded and less exciting explanation is that Ciri just looked quite awkward in the criticised reveal trailer cutscenes, and nothing about her character model has been changed since then.

The-Witcher-4-Featured
Rumors suggest Geralt might also be playable in The Witcher 4.

Regardless, the new footage shows that CDPR has preserved the series’ art style despite using Unreal Engine 5. The game will also run at 60 FPS on consoles to deliver impressive visuals with good optimisation.

The Witcher 4 may also appear at the Summer Game Fest, but the CEO was quick to shoot down the rumors.

Does Ciri look like her Witcher 3 counterpart in the new Witcher 4 gameplay? Did the CD Projekt Red developers change her model after all? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Each NPC In The Witcher 4 Reacts Differently To Ciri

Story Highlight
  • Tech demo of The Witcher 4 showcases how each NPC has a different reaction to Ciri.
  • Earlier, CDPR promised that every NPC in the game would tell their own stories.
  • The game seems like a new era of graphical fidelity and animations.

CDPR just revealed brand new Witcher 4 footage based on Unreal Engine 5.6, and it’s nothing short of a masterclass. The game breaks new boundaries of visuals and animations, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Months ago, the studio said that the NPCs in Witcher 4 will have their very own identities and feel organic. This demo showcases that and reveals how each NPC is living their own story and has a different reaction to Ciri.

Why it matters: Many believed that CDPR would be the studio that would fix the issues with Unreal Engine 5, after shifting from its proprietary engine, and it seems the studio is doing just that.

In the tech demo, Ciri visits a marketplace with lots of NPCs that all react differently to her. When she enters, there’s a guard who spits at his feet in disgust. Moreover, a woman hides her child and is visibly scared of the Witcher.

Some people look at her with interest and follow her as she goes, leading to different reactions. Moreover, each NPC is doing something different as well as if they’re all living their own stories.

NPCs in Witcher 4 feel alive and organic

Now, we have seen NPCs reacting to characters before, but never with this intricacy. Also, we’ve never witnessed them seem this organic and life-like before, due to which CDPR deserves a massive shoutout.

Nonetheless, The Witcher 4 is shaping up to be something we’ve never seen before. It isn’t expected before 2027, therefore, there’s plenty of time to make things even better than they are, if that is a possibility.

Story Highlight
  • CDPR has shown off brand new gameplay of The Witcher 4 at State of Unreal 2025.
  • The game looks incredible and runs at 60FPS on a base PS5.
  • It incorporates all the cutting-edge technology from Unreal Engine 5 for a visually stunning experience.

The Witcher 4 was officially revealed last year, and CDPR promised an ambitious RPG experience. Several months later, the team has returned with a more extensive look at the title, showing gorgeous visuals powered by all-new Unreal Engine 5 technology.

Unlike the previous trailer, the new video shows uncut gameplay. CDPR has also confirmed the console frame target for The Witcher 4.

Why it matters: Many believed The Witcher 4 looked too good to be true when it was first shown off, but CDPR’s latest showcase highlights the game running in real time via a technical demo.

CDPR has shown several minutes of The Witcher 4 footage at State of Unreal 2025.

The team has highlighted several locations and characters in the new video, including Ciri, who appears to look better than ever. As per CDPR, this footage highlights the game running on a base PS5.

On this console, the team has set a 60FPS target, basically confirming the same for the Xbox Series X. This means that the studio’s latest RPG will offer a no-compromises experience, offering both gorgeous visuals and high frame rate.

To nobody’s surprise, ray-tracing also plays a major role in The Witcher 4’s overall look, following on the impressive implementation in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 4
The Witcher 4 Is Expected To Arrive By 2027

With Summer Game Fest 2025 also around the corner, additional footage regarding CDPR’s upcoming blockbuster could show up later this week. Till then, fans can continue to analyze the 10+ minutes of The Witcher 4 shown off at State of Unreal 2025.

PlayStation State Of Play Announced For June 4th, Will Highlight ‘A Selection Of Great Games’

Story Highlight
  • Sony has just announced a new PlayStation State of Play for June 4th, which will highlight ‘a selection of great games.’
  • The show will last over 40 minutes and will reveal release dates and new updates for its existing in-development titles.
  • Fans are expecting to see Ghost of Yotei, Marvel’s Wolverine, and other rumored unannounced entries.

Besides layoffs and project cancellations, Sony has also been criticized for lacking explosive gaming showcases. Its last two PlayStation State of Plays were only considered mildly interesting, but the firm has revealed a new event that might finally turn things around.

Sony has just announced a new PlayStation State of Play, scheduled for June 4th. It will highlight ‘a selection of great games’ and will last over 40 minutes. We can expect ‘news and updates’ on a variety of in-development projects and much more.

Why it matters: The last PlayStation State of Play was far from what the users expected. A lot is riding on this next show, as fans hope that Sony learned its lesson from the mediocre event in February.

Marvel's Wolverine SAG-AFTRA
Fans are hoping to see Marvel’s Wolverine at the next PlayStation State of Play.

As per the PlayStation blog, the event will highlight ‘must-play titles’ coming to PS5. The wording implies that we will also see some unannounced games that the first-party studios have been cooking up over the years.

State of Play returns June 4! Watch live for news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5. The show highlights a selection of great games from creators across the globe.

According to rumors, the event is expected to bring updates on the new PlayStation studio TeamLFG’s Gummy Bears, Bungie’s Marathon, Returnal studio’s Project SarosGhost of Yotei, Fairgame$, and Marvel’s Wolverine.

Additionally, we might also see Santa Monica Studios’ new sci-fi IP, which has been in development for 7 years already.

Fans are also interested in seeing Sony’s unannounced first-party offerings.

Rumors in the past claimed that Sony was considering a bigger PlayStation Showcase instead of State of Play for Summer 2025. While the company seems to have decided otherwise, this State of Play might turn out to be much bigger than the last few because of that.

Will the upcoming State of Play reveal any new first-party games from Sony? Do you think it will be more appealing than the one we saw in February? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.
