Another Controversy For Gearbox!

Story Highlight
  • The CEO of Gearbox Entertainment has said controversial things on many occasions.
  • Recently, he apologised for saying that the real fans would buy the game for $80 at any cost.
  • Now, the studio is under a lot of fire again due to celebrating Pride Month.

The director of Borderlands recently tried to justify the price tag of a $80 game, which caused a lot of controversy. He said that if you are a true fan of a specific game, you will buy it despite its $80 price tag, which is why many fans and content creators started boycotting the upcoming title

This controversy was not too long ago, and another one has just started. The developer is now under fire for celebrating Pride month, and fans are roasting it.

Why it matters: Many developers and publishers targeted the modern audience for their game, which caused their game to either fail to get into a really deep controversy. So, the fandom doesn’t really like it when developers pull off stunts like these.

Not a smart move to do this when nearly every other company isn’t participating anymore, when TARGET and GOOGLE don’t participate in pride month, that should be your sign.

The fandom is rapidly roasting the CEO, and as he was under fire just recently, fans are even angrier. Many companies have pulled out of this Pride month trend because they have realised that the modern audience isn’t their real audience.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a perfectly executed game’s developer is also under fire for similar reasons.

Well, Gearbox has been on a steady decline for years now. You expect them to get the message that even normies hate all these disengenuous “woke” messages?

The controversies surrounding Borderland Studios are piling up and may negatively affect the upcoming game’s sales in the franchise. While the CEO has already apologized for making such a controversial claim about the game’s pricing, the fandom hasn’t forgiven him, and yet the hatred is only increasing.

It is also worth noting that previously, at the start of the year, the fandom had criticised the game, to which the CEO had replied negatively. So, the situation isn’t pretty good right now
