The latest GTA 6 reveal has skyrocketed the hype gamers had for Rockstar’s next big project, so its potential effects are already being felt ahead of its November 19th launch. The mounting anticipation has now started to worry analysts and industry experts.
American business leaders and analysts are particularly concerned about GTA 6’s ripple effects on the US economy after launch. In fact, a new report reveals that the game’s release will cause over a billion dollars in losses on day one in the US.
Why it matters: The immense hype around GTA 6 already suggests that it will affect the entire US workforce and student body. Many people have already been looking forward to skipping work and classes on November 19th and beyond.

As reported by The Outlet, industry experts like Jose Montalvo, a professor of economics at Pompeu Fabra University, expect the first day of GTA 6’s release to be quite brutal to the US economy. Other countries will likely also see tangible negative effects on their economies.
At least, thousands of young men between 18 and 39 are expected to miss work and classes to enjoy Rockstar’s new magnum opus in the US, particularly from the technology sector.
The launch of the game is being treated as ‘a national event’ in the country, with pop culture, entertainment, the economy, and even the everyday life of many people revolving around the November 19th date.
A previous report revealed that the US Army is giving soldiers four days off to play GTA 6 if they re-enlist. Many other businesses and workplaces are also providing similar days off because they know many employees would be absent on that day anyway.

Investment firm Konvoy even estimates that GTA 6 could earn around $7.600 billion in its first two months, double the past projects for other games. In other words, it could become the most profitable title in the industry.
Regardless, Rockstar Games is also incredibly happy with the game’s optimization, including on Xbox Series S.
