Nintendo’s Employee Retention Rate Sits At 98% As Thousands Get Laid Off Across Other Studios

Story Highlight
  • Nintendo’s employee retention rate currently sits at a steady 98%, according to public data from April 2024 to March 2025.
  • The company is experiencing minimal layoffs and resignations, and employees are staying for longer periods compared to other firms.
  • This staggering result comes at a time when thousands are being laid off across many other gaming studios and conglomerates.

Nintendo has faced a fair share of criticisms over the years, whether it’s due to harsh new game prices or strict copyright policies. However, the company is also appreciated for its treatment of employees, especially in an era of mass layoffs and project cancellations.

Now, new public data published by Nintendo shows that the company’s employee retention rate is currently at a staggering 98%.

Why it matters: The new public data from Nintendo further suggests that the company continues to be a safe haven for its developers at a time when nothing seems certain—even for stable studios—in the gaming industry.

Nintendo employee data April 2024 to March 2025
The public Nintendo employee data shows the impressive retention rate amid a declining industry.

The data featured covers April 2024 to March 2025, and barely anyone was fired from Nintendo during this period.

Nintendo’s turnover rate for the Japanese branch is at 1.9%, while it rises a little for the American department at 5.1%, showing that there have been next to no layoffs and very few people have quit over the last year.

The data also highlights the company’s average employee tenure, being at least 14 years for the Japanese branch, while falling to only ten years for Nintendo of America. In other words, Nintendo employees are staying for much longer periods at the company.

Nintendo Switch 2
Switch 2 was well-received despite only being an iterative upgrade.

These results would certainly not be possible for Western AAA studios, where developers are frequently dismissed, even if their games perform well. An example of this is Virtuous reportedly cutting 300 jobs despite Oblivion Remastered being a massive hit.

Nintendo has continued with a positive employee retention rate for the past few years, at least. These metrics have been possible because the company continues to enjoy stable game releases, and its new Switch 2 handheld has also been a massive success.

Do you think Nintendo will be the only exception to thrive in the struggling gaming industry over the next few years, or will it also eventually face layoffs? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Insider Claims GTA 6 Will Only Run At 60FPS On PS5 Pro

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 is reportedly only hitting 60FPS on PS5 Pro.
  • According to a leaker, PlayStation engineers are helping optimise the game thanks to the company’s collaboration with Rockstar.
  • The game will also have multiple graphical settings on PS5 Pro.

As 2026 edges closer, the anticipation for GTA 6 is ramping up with every passing day. Recent estimates have predicted that the game will have the biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment, raking in almost $8 billion and 75 million copies.

Whether you believe these estimates or not, they could certainly be hurt by the game only running at 60FPS on one console. And, if leaks are true, this is exactly what’s going to happen.

Why This Matters: One of the most anticipated games in the history of the industry, only showcasing peak performance on one platform, will be an indictment of gaming’s current state.

GTA 6 PS5 Pro Leak
Info leaked by an insider, Detective Seeds.

As per insider Detective Seeds on X, GTA 6 is only hitting a consistent 60FPS on PS5 Pro and will have multiple graphical settings on the platform. The leak further states PlayStation engineers are helping Rockstar optimize the game for PS5 Pro because of the new tech in play.

Detective Seeds also reveals that the marketing deal between PlayStation and Rockstar is the reason this collaboration is taking place between the two parties. Hence, players should expect to see several PS5 and GTA 6 bundles when the game launches.

In addition, the insider provided some confirmation regarding the game’s release date, saying that the title is set to launch in May 2026. Per the leaker, this info is allegedly from a PlayStation engineer who added that the company is helping Rockstar optimise some other games for the platform.

GTA 6
GTA 6 is slated to launch in May 2026.

Hence, GTA 6 only runs at 60FPS on the PS5 Pro as of now, but this could very well change before release, according to the leaker. With a budget of over $1 billion, the sequel is certainly ambitious and hotly anticipated due to its massive scale.

Reports suggest that GTA 6 will have over 700 enterable buildings, 96-player servers, and is going to set new standards for open-world titles. With Rockstar about to ramp up the game’s marketing, we can only hope Take-Two is correct about there being no more delays.

Promotional Leak Suggests A Full Reveal Of Battlefield 6 Is Around The Corner

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 could be revealed in a week or two, as EA has started ramping up the game’s promotion.
  • The company has started sending creators promotional packages with the game’s title.
  • The FPS is set to release before the end of this fiscal year.

It’s been over seven years since the last mainline entry in the Battlefield franchise launched, and EA has been working incessantly on Battlefield 6 to give fans a payoff for this delay. The American publisher has been constantly hyping up the sequel, saying it wants the title to define the future of FPS games.

Not much has been shown to players as of now, however, besides some playtests and a few gameplay leaks that haven’t been received very well. But if the leaks are true, fans will get their first look at Battlefield 6 sooner rather than later.

Why This Matters: The FPS space has been taken over by Call of Duty recently, so seeing its historical competitor return in a big way is only good for the industry.

Battlefield 6 promotion
The Battlefield 6 promotional package was received by Doom49.

Content Creators have started receiving promotional material from EA to market Battlefield 6, hinting that a full reveal could be coming soon. In a now-deleted post, creator Doom49 revealed a package he received from EA, which contained a briefcase with the game’s title on it.

Furthermore, the briefcase had several straps tied around it that highlighted the main game modes of Battlefield 6. These modes are titled “Conquest,” “Rush,” and “Breakthrough,” confirming already leaked info regarding the first-person shooter.

EA ramping up promotion like this only means that the Battlefield 6 reveal is merely a week or two away. But that is purely speculation, and the only thing this package really confirms is that the next installment in the franchise will be titled “Battlefield 6“.

Battlefield Series
Battlefield 6 is set to be a redefining entry in the franchise.

The upcoming shooting game is certainly carrying a lot of expectations, with EA expecting it to cross 100 million players. The company also spent over $400 million developing the game and has studied everything the players liked in previous entries.

Furthermore, Developers have prioritised fan feedback, listening to the criticism targeted at the gameplay leaks while removing heavy skill-based matchmaking. Hence, Battlefield 6 is certainly ambitious, but we’ll only know if EA achieves its targets at the end of this fiscal year.

First-Person Ghost Recon Game Is In Development, Confirms Ubisoft

Story Highlight
  • The last Ghost Recon game was released in 2019, but did not receive positive impressions from the fandom.
  • Now, Ubisoft has confirmed that a first-person game in the franchise is in development.
  • There isn’t much known about the title so far, except that it is inspired by the COD: Modern Warfare series.

Ghost Recon is one of Ubisoft’s beloved franchises, but it has been quite a long time since the last title in the series was released. The latest game was released in 2019, but it didn’t manage to satisfy the fandom

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was highly criticised because of its poor gameplay mission designs and many technical issues on launch. That is perhaps why the company hasn’t released any more games in the franchise.

However, the fans who have been waiting for another iteration should be delighted to know that Ubisoft has confirmed that a new first-person Ghost Recon game is in development

Why it matters: While Ubisoft isn’t nearly as good as it used to be, it may surprise the fandom with the upcoming games. So, having slight expectations won’t be the end of the world.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint Was Highly Criticized By The Fandom

Ubisoft confirmed the existence and development of a new Ghost Recon game in the recent shareholder meeting. This report comes from Game File, where Yves Guillemot revealed a lot of things regarding their expectations of past games and future plans.

our objective is to also make strong progress in the growing market, generally speaking, by continuing to enhance our current experiences that we offer—and capitalizing on upcoming launches, such as The Division and Ghost Recon.

Then the CFO of Ubisoft answered a question regarding the investment from Tencent. He said that the investment will be used for the future development of other major brand names. He further said:

we’ve got… Ghost Recon is just one example, for our first-person-shooter-type games.

Ubisoft also wants to focus more on the live-service titles. There isn’t much known about the first-person Ghost Recon except that it is the next mainline title in the series and is heavily inspired by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series

In the meeting, Ubisoft also confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws failed and that microtransactions make gaming more fun.

Ubisoft Says Microtransactions Make The Gaming Experience More Fun

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft says that microtransactions in gaming make the overall experience more fun.
  • It says that their monetization is always thoughtful, and players love it.
  • The overall consensus around microtransactions, especially in paid games, is very negative.

If there is one fact that gamers all around the world can rally around, it is that microtransactions have no place in gaming. While they are somewhat fine for free-to-play games, integrating them in a paid game is always the wrong choice.

However, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to be on the same page as the vast majority of gamers, instead claiming that microtransactions actually make the overall gameplay experience a lot more enjoyable.

Why it matters: This is a widely acclaimed thought that microtransactions shouldn’t be integrated into gaming, so it’s unclear where Ubisoft conducted a survey showing that gamers agree they are fun.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Anvil Engine
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was the latest single-player Ubisoft game to include microtransactions

Ubisoft just revealed its financial report, and along with a lot of information was the company’s thoughts on monetization in gaming. It says that the microtransactions it offers aim to ‘make the player experience more fun’.

Our monetization offer within premium games makes the player experience more fun by allowing them to personalize their avatars or progress more quickly, however this is always optional.

Now, the company has been notorious for adding them even to single-player paid games. It did that with the recent Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Others have also done it, like Dragon’s Dogma 2, which added them after its review embargo.

Ubisoft and other publishers Microtransactions
Fans are very much against microtransactions

Understandably, microtransactions play a huge role in revenue generation. Around 58% of PC gaming revenue in 2024 came through monetization. Considering the state of Ubisoft’s stocks, it is no wonder, it supports the idea.

Nonetheless, fans don’t agree and have always criticized them. Battle passes, skins, and other cosmetics are fine for games like Fortnite, Valorant, CS, and more, but are unacceptable for $70 single-player titles.

Ubisoft Says Star Wars Outlaws Failed Due To Shaky Interest In Star Wars IP

Story Highlight
  • Star Wars Outlaws ended up being a major commercial flop for Ubisoft last year.
  • Discussing this failure, CEO Yves Guillemot has pointed to low interest in the brand last year.
  • This comment was likely made due to the divisive nature of releases like The Acolyte.

Ubisoft released one of its most ambitious open-world titles last year to disappointing results. Despite some buzz, Star Wars Outlaws failed to hit the ground running and became one of the French gaming giant’s bigger letdowns in recent memory.

In fact, the game even contributed to Ubisoft’s declining stock prices and continues to be a focal point of discussions today. During a recent shareholders’ meeting, Star Wars Outlaws’ failure was brought up again, and the Ubisoft CEO made a very interesting comment regarding the game.

Why it matters: Shareholders and Ubisoft likely want to avoid a failure this big at all costs in the near future.

Star Wars Outlaws
Main Character Kay Vess Failed To Impress Fans

Ubisoft’s shareholders recently asked CEO Yves Guillemot to share his thoughts on Star Wars Outlaws. In particular, the shareholders were interested in knowing what the French publisher had learned after this disappointment.

Although the CEO acknowledged that Star Wars Outlaws was held back by design issues, he pointed to the state of the Star Wars IP as a major reason behind the game’s overall failure.

Outlaws was released at a time when the brand that it belonged to was in a bit of choppy waters.

-Yves Guillemot

This comment was likely made in reference to the reception of Star Wars shows like The Acolyte, which saw mass review-bombing and divided opinions from the fanbase. However, the same was true of past films like The Last Jedi.

CEO Yves Guillemot’s latest comment is so interesting because the team passed the blame on to player expectations in a similar manner last year.

Star Wars Outlaws
The Game Failed To Meet Expectations

Although the series’ divisive nature remains undeniable, Star Wars Outlaws was also far from a perfect release. The game was bogged down by a plethora of glitches, poor animations, and a general lack of polish.

These flaws were reflected in the reviews and ultimately disappointing sales figures of the game.

What are your thoughts on the CEO’s response? Let’s discuss below in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Ubisoft Bashed By Shareholders For Including Yasuke In Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Story Highlight
  • Yasuke became the focus of intense discussion during Ubisoft’s latest shareholders’ meeting.
  • The CEO was questioned for including the character, and shareholders even threw around the term ‘woke’ during the discussions.
  • CEO Yves Guillemot stated that the team picked him to portray a heroic journey.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows marked Ubisoft’s latest AAA release for one of the industry’s longest-running IPs. Ahead of the release, the game also saw plenty of controversy centered around Yasuke, the famous Black samurai.

Controversy regarding Yasuke has mostly died down since then, but it seems Ubisoft’s own shareholders are still not convinced about the decision to include the character. In fact, shareholders even brought up the matter in a recent meeting with the Ubisoft CEO.

Why it matters: The controversial DEI elements in the industry have caused so much outrage that even shareholders have begun to take notice.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
The Latest Assassin’s Creed RPG Saw Millions of Players Despite Concerns

Ubisoft’s latest shareholders’ meeting was held earlier this month, with various key topics being discussed between the shareholders and CEO Yves Guillemot.

On the subject of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the shareholders echoed concerns of Yasuke’s inclusion in the game and even brought up the term ‘woke’ when discussing the matter with the CEO.

For context, the term was used frequently before Assassin’s Creed’s latest entry was released. CEO Yves Guillemot did not have much to say about the game being ‘woke,’ but he replied that Yasuke was included to depict a heroic journey.

We wanted to showcase characters with heroic journeys.

-Yves Guillemot

During the same meeting, shareholders discussed other important matters like the failure of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft’s crashing stock prices, and more. However, the comments regarding Assassin’s Creed Shadows are the most interesting.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
Yasuke Was Given A Lot of Importance In AC Shadows

Ubisoft previously spoke out against malicious comments about the game ahead of its release, and the team also stated that it did not intend to push any specific agendas with Yasuke’s inclusion.

Still, the pushback from shareholders after general audience criticism may prevent the studio from making moves that lead to similar backlash in the future.

What do you make of the shareholders’ reaction to the controversy surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows? Do you think the French gaming giant will steer clear of such controversies moving forward? Share your thoughts in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Ubisoft’s Charlie Guillemot Strikes Down The Nepotism Blame, Despite Having Average Portfolio

Story Highlight
  • Yves Guillemot, the CEO of Ubisoft, recently appointed his son as the Tencent-based subsidiary co-CEO.
  • Despite being appointed as a co-CEO, Charlie has been given way too many essential tasks over the other CEO, who, btw, is more competent.
  • Charlie has denied the accusation of nepotism recently.

Recently, thanks to the leaked memo, it was revealed that the son of Ubisoft’s current CEO, Charlie Guillemot, has been appointed as the lead of Tencent-based subsidiary. Along with him, another person, Christophe Derennes, was appointed as the co-CEO.

As both are co-CEOs of the new subsidiary, they both should have equal responsibilities, or at least the one who is more competent should be given more important tasks, right? However, that isn’t the case as the CEO’s son has been given almost all of the critical tasks despite Christophe being far more competent.

Now, guess what? Charlie has strikes down all of the nepotism blame despite having an average portfolio.

Why it matters: Neoptism cases in any industry for any position should never be treated lightly, as any type of position should be based on skills rather than a hierarchy system.

Ubisoft Bankruptcy
Report Shows Ubisoft Potentially Going Bankrupt This Year

For those not in the know, Ubisoft sold 25% of its most popular franchises to Tencent, and as per the memo, Charlie will be responsible for all of them. He will handle the game content, brand direction and development, marketing, and commercial performance.

On the other hand, the more experienced CEO will clean up his mess, so he has been given the role of the babysitter, meaning no matter what, Charlie will take all of the credit, if any due.

Charlie Guillemot recently said in an interview with Variety that all of these accusations are false. He said that his appointment isn’t related to the family ties.

My appointment isn’t only about family ties; it’s about what Ubisoft needs at this moment. I’ve spent the last decade building experience both inside and outside Ubisoft, leading teams, managing brands, and navigating change in a fast-moving industry.

Apparently, he is something Ubisoft needs, and his presence is necessary for everyone to do their best work. That said, let’s look at his glorious portfolio. Charlie said that he spent the last decade building experience, but did he?

He worked at a developer owned by Ubisoft, Owlient. Charlie joined the studio when it was already at its peak, so did he contribute much? Eh. He also co-founded Unagi, an NFT-based company, back in 2021. This probably doesn’t require further explanation.

So, do you think this is the portfolio of someone who should be handed the control of three of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises or should it be given to someone who has been at the company for around 30 years and has served as General Director of the North America branch?

What do you think about Charlie rejecting the case of nepotism? Do you think he is competent enough for the position he has been given? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers PC Requirements Point to Solid Optimization

Story Highlight
  • The PC system requirements for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers are now available.
  • GTX 1060 (6GB) is the minimum requirement, while RTX 2070 is the recommended GPU requirement.
  • The developer has not stated what resolution or framerate these settings target.

The complete PC requirements for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers are now out ahead of its July 24 launch. The game seems well-optimized for PC, but it still needs decent hardware to run smoothly.

Developer Leenzee shared during a community showcase that the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and was tested with DLSS or FSR upscaling turned on. So, the listed system specs are based on having these upscaling settings enabled.

Why it matters: Right now, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is already among the top 15 best sellers on Steam, and players will be happy to see the requirements listed by the developer.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Requirements
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers official PC requirements.

For the minimum requirements, the developers suggest using at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. These processors are a bit older but still good enough for most newer games. Players will also need 16GB of RAM, which is now pretty standard, especially for games made with Unreal Engine 5.

For the graphics card, the developer suggests something like a GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM or an RX 580 with 8GB. These are mid-range cards from several years ago, so if your PC is built within the last 5–6 years, you should be fine running the game at lower settings.

For a much better experience, the recommended requirements are a bit more demanding. It includes an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500.

For graphics, the developer recommends an RTX 2070, AMD RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A750. These cards can handle better graphics and should run the game well with DLSS or FSR turned on.

Leenzee wants players to use DLSS/FSR from the start, which suggests that raw performance without upscaling may struggle. Still, the listed requirements point to an optimized port, and anything above the recommended specs should give a smoother experience.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Outfits
The game will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

It’s not clear what resolution or frame rate these specs are meant for, or if they aim for 1080p at 60 fps. Reports note that performance will “likely vary,” and there’s no mention yet of 4K targets.

Regardless, stay tuned for real-world FPS tests after July 24 – that’ll show how well Wuchang: Fallen Feathers runs beyond theory. Have you pre-ordered the game, or are you waiting to see real-time performance benchmarks first? Comment down below or join the conversation on the Tech4Gamers forum.

CDPR Isn’t Done With Cyberpunk 2077, More Future Updates Teased In-Game

Story Highlight
  • CDPR has teased new updates for Cyberpunk 2077 in-game.
  • Update 2.4 could introduce Casinos to the game, one of the most requested pieces of cut content from the original release.
  • The previous update was handled by Virtuous Games, who are expected to lead development on future updates as well.

From being the most hated to the most loved RPG in just a matter of 3 years, Cyberpunk 2077’s redemption journey is no secret. CDPR has done a commendable job in creating a futuristic dystopian world, and is still pushing out updates for the game despite the previous claim that they were done with the project.

Update 2.3 was released recently and added new vehicles, a cab feature, among other changes. However, version 2.3 isn’t what we’ll see as the last of Cyberpunk 2077, with the latest update teases more new features to come.

Why it matters: Cyberpunk 2 may still be years away, and in the meanwhile, these updates will keep the game freshened and retain players to keep exploring Night City.

On X, a player spotted casino ads throughout Night City and Dogtown after the latest update. For those unfamiliar, Casinos were cut from the final version of Cyberpunk 2077 for unknown reasons.

Five years later, this might be high time to add the most requested piece of cut content finally. The next update might add North Oak Casino and Country Club, which are visible outside of the map but are inaccessible.

However, the same user spotted a Reddit post revealing that the upcoming update will add an entirely new casino called Pacifica Casino, with relevant files already being added to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Crowd
Cyberpunk 2 Isn’t Expected Until 2029 At The Least

Virtuous Games is said to have worked on the 2.3 update, so the same studio is expected to handle future updates. Currently, CDPR is entirely focused on Witcher 4, with some employees focused on Cyberpunk 2, which is currently in pre-production.

What more do you expect from Cyberpunk 2077 in future updates? Let us know in the comments below, or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Second DLC To Appear At Gamescom 2025; Release Expected Soon

Story Highlight
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s second DLC, Legacy of the Forge, will be shown at Gamescom 2025.
  • The DLC release is also expected soon after the event, with a release date potentially being confirmed at the event.
  • The expansion will focus on exploring Henry’s past and rebuilding an abandoned forge to expand the blacksmithing feature.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was a successful sequel, but not without bouts of controversy due to DEI elements. While the RPG has mostly faded from the spotlight after titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched, it is still receiving new content via DLCs and updates.

Now, Warhorse Studios PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling has confirmed that the game will appear at Gamescom this year. The developers will show the second DLC, Legacy of the Forge, alongside many details that players have been waiting for.

Why it matters: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s first DLC performed exceptionally well, just like the main game, so fans are holding even higher expectations for the upcoming expansion since it will explore Henry’s background.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Second DLC
Warhorse Studios’ PR manager confirms that KCD2’s second DLC will appear at Gamescom 2025.

On Twitter, Tobias clarifies that ‘plenty of fresh news’ will be revealed for the game’s second DLC, which is expected to focus on rebuilding an abandoned forge and exploring the backstory of Henry’s adoptive father, Martin.

The studio will expand upon the blacksmithing experience. Introduction to other new features is also expected at Gamescom, which will be added in Legacy of the Forge.

Tobias also confirms that the DLC will launch soon after the event; an exact release date might be revealed at Gamescom.

kingdom come deliverance 2
The sequel has continued to win over fans with new content since its release.

Gamescom 2025 will take place from August 20 to 24, kicked off by Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19.

Regardless, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 boasts a positive rating across all platforms, so a voice actor is even expecting the RPG to win GOTY this year.

PS6 and Next Xbox Reportedly Feature AMD Zen 6 “Magnus” APU With 11 Cores With 384-Bit Memory Bus

Story Highlight
  • A new leak suggests that next-gen consoles will use AMD’s Zen 6 “Magnus” APU, featuring an unusual 11-core CPU layout.
  • The chip features a 264 mm² graphics die with a 384-bit memory bus, paired with a 144 mm² SoC die on TSMC’s 3nm process.
  • Another Insider says this design is for the next Xbox, due to its larger, costlier configuration.

We’re officially just a few years away from seeing the next console generation. The first major leak has apparently revealed the APU configuration for one of the consoles, which are set to come with AMD’s Zen 6 “Magnus” APU.

The APU will feature a non-conventional 11-core CPU configuration, with eight cores being Zen 6 C cores and the remaining three cores being Zen 6 cores.

Why it matters: With such heavy features, the next-gen consoles could potentially break the $500 traditional price point, yet remain quite powerful.

In the latest YouTube video published by Moore’s Law is Dead, the insider explained that the APU features an iGPU with a 264 mm² graphics die carrying a 384-bit memory bus, and connected to a 144 mm² SoC die.

The CPU die on the SoC is based on the TSMC 3nm process, featuring 12MB of L3 cache. Moreover, the APU will also feature 80 CUs.

The square design of this APU would be the largest ever in a console so far. As such, the APU was initially thought to be for laptops by the leaker. However, the chip was listed in the semi-custom business unit, which is usually reserved for consoles.

All the signs, including the naming, unusual core count, and other references, likely indicate that it is PS6’s APU, as suggested by the leaker.

sony ps6 featured
PS6 To Offer The Same Performance As An RTX 4090, Says Leaks

That is, Kepler_L2, another insider commented on the leak, saying that this APU is unlikely to be for PS6, as the gaming giant uses different codenames for its APUs. Moreover, the design also looks quite expensive for the PS6 and the lead architect for the console, Mark Cerny, usually doesn’t opt for this die area.

As such, it could likely be the next-gen Xbox’s APU, which is already said to be competing against pre-built PCs rather than the PlayStation, making them more costly and aligning with the price point for the APU.

What are your thoughts on these alleged specs for the APU? Let us know in the comments below, or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.
