Death Stranding 2 Characters Look So Real People Are Using Them To Bypass UK Age Verification

Story Highlight
  • UK recently introduced a new law for age verification to protect children from adult content.
  • Although this has attracted considerable criticism, people have found a way to circumvent it.
  • Gamers are now using the Death Stranding 2 photo mode to bypass the age verification.

Death Stranding 2 was recently released, and it is one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2025. The critics and fans have given positive impressions, and even after completing it, the majority didn’t stop playing; that is a sign of a good game.

The game looks so real that some places its features are difficult to distinguish from real life, but that is now. Kojima Productions took Decima Engine to the next level, as the character models are so real that people are using them to bypass UK age verification.

Why it matters: Death Stranding 2 has garnered a lot of praise due to the in-game appearance of its characters. The characters in this game are as close to as it can get to real life.

Dany Sterkhov, on X (formerly known as Twitter), revealed that the game’s photo mode can be used to bypass Discord’s age verification. Many other people have confirmed in the thread that this solution worked for them as well

For those not in the know, recently, new age verification laws have been introduced in the UK, which have attracted considerable controversy. While this is introduced to protect children from harmful content, it has been perceived as a hindrance by many to verify the age.

That said, some gamers have found a way around it and are actually using Death Stranding 2’s photo mode to bypass it and conceal their identity, of course.

Many gaming sites, as well as other websites, have been affected in the UK due to this new law. Therefore, anyone who wants to access those sites would have to confirm their identity; however, thanks to the effort from Kojima Productions, people are using the game’s photo mode to verify their age.

This indicates that the game likely features the best character models in gaming history, and they appear incredibly realistic.

Next WB Games Montreal Project Is A Live‑Service DC Comics Game, Job Listing Reveals

Story Highlight
  • We have found a job listing that reveals WB Games Montreal is working on a game based on DC Comics, utilizing a live-service model.
  • Warner Bros. continues to pursue the live-service path, despite recent failures.
  • It’s unlikely that the game will be based on Batman, as Rocksteady is moving forward with its own Batman game.

Known best for the development of Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights, WB Games Montreal has delivered a mixed bag of results so far. That said, the studio is certainly capable of creating AAA blockbusters if given the right project.

Following its last release, the team is already deep into development on its next title. Now, Tech4Gamers has come across a new job listing for an Executive Producer that reveals key details about the project, including the fact that it is based on a DC Comics IP and utilizes a live-service model.

Why it matters: The live-service model has repeatedly proven to be risky for video game developers. It’s surprising to see that Warner Bros. will continue down this path, given how poorly its recent releases have performed.

We spotted that WB Games Montreal is currently looking to hire an Executive Producer for an unknown AAA Game. The job listing confirms that this game is based on an iconic Warner Bros. and DC Comics property.

Lead a high-quality AAA game based on one of the iconic IPs from the Warner Bros. and DC Comics catalog.

The same job listing later states that this project will belong to the live-service genre since the producer is responsible for overseeing the live service strategy for post-launch support.

Oversee post-launch content and live-service strategy.

According to the qualifications section, experience with live-service gaming is also required for this position. This more or less confirms that WB Games Montreal’s upcoming project is a live-service title.

The Studio’s Next Game Is Built On Unreal Engine 5

This game is unlikely to be related to Batman since Rocksteady will be taking the lead on the next Batman project, which may be part of a Batman Beyond trilogy.

As such, the studio appears to be tackling another prominent DC Comics superhero, possibly even Superman, given the character’s high demand for a video game adaptation.

Nvidia CEO Wants To Replace Every Employee’s Job With AI

Story Highlight
  • Nvidia is heavily invested in AI, as evidenced by its recent lineup of GPUs.
  • The company’s CEO believes that AI is so powerful that it will render everyone’s job obsolete.
  • The co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, shares the same sentiment.

Nvidia’s recent lineup of GPUs received a lot of criticism from the fandom, mainly because the hardware isn’t that upgraded from the previous generation. Instead, the chipmaker focused too much on AI.

The 50 series features advanced AI, demonstrating significant advancements in technology. It is expected that in the future, there will be even fewer hardware upgrades and a major focus on AI. Nvidia is so heavily invested in AI that its CEO wants to replace every person’s job with this technology, which is alarming.

Why it matters: People have been concerned that AI will replace their jobs for a while now, and this concern may soon become a reality. Even Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has warned that AI will take over almost every job.

Nvidai CEO AI Presentation
Nvidia’s CEO Is Betting Everything on AI

Nvidia recently crossed the $4 trillion market cap and is the most valuable company in the world. The company believes AI is the future, and due to its evaluation, people are likely to agree.

Jensen Huang, the company’s CEO, has been discussing the rise of AI for a long time, and now he again warns in an interview with CNN that everyone’s jobs will be affected.

Huang believes that AI workers will be far more efficient than their human counterparts because they can solve any problem at hand in less time and at a lower cost. Of course, there would still be room for human jobs, but, according to the CEO, the majority are likely to be overtaken by AI

Some jobs will be lost. Many jobs will be created, and what I hope is that the productivity gains that we see in all the industries will lift society.

-Jensen Huang

Huang also previously said that “AI is so incredibly powerful that everyone will lose their jobs.” There is a reason why Nvidia is investing so heavily in AI, as the CEO strongly believes it can potentially replace many jobs

As of now, companies are investing billions of dollars in this technology, and they won’t back down until they master it. Even Microsoft has recently laid off thousands of employees so that it can invest more heavily in AI

Dead Space Creator Teases Retirement From Gaming; Says It’s Tough Out There

Story Highlight
  • Glenn Schofield has shared an update on a small project he was working on over the last eight months.
  • The Dead Space creator led a small team of developers on a horror game prototype but stepped back due to budget constraints.
  • He noted that The Callisto Protocol may be his last game, given the current state of the industry.

Dead Space, directed by Glenn Schofield, remains one of the most captivating horror experiences the gaming industry has to offer.

The same director also released The Callisto Protocol in 2023, and although the game was not nearly as successful, fans were excited to see what he would work on next. Unfortunately, Glenn Schofield seems to be preparing for his exit from gaming.

Why it matters: The industry is slowly losing its top talent, with major developers like Hideo Kojima also hinting at retirement.

The Callisto protocol
The Callisto Protocol Aimed To Recapture The Charm of Dead Space

In a new post on LinkedIn, the developer discussed his potential next step in the industry. He began by noting that game development is undergoing a challenging situation, something that impacts all developers industry-wide.

Game industry it’s tough out there.

Over the last eight months or so, the Dead Space creator worked on a new horror project with his daughter. The developer assembled a team and ultimately settled on a prototype that received positive feedback in initial meetings, but the budget became a point of contention.

Although Glenn Schofield targetted a budget of $17 million, interested parties hoped to bring the budget down to $10 million. However, it seems this figure has dwindled further to about $5 million over the last few months.

Due to these circumstances, the Dead Space director is no longer working on his daughter’s project. In fact, he states that he may have directed his last game with The Callisto Protocol.

Maybe I’ve directed my last game. Who knows?

Glenn Schofield also revealed that his daughter was laid off from Striking Distance Studios as part of the job cuts that followed the release of The Callisto Protocol.

Unfortunately, layoffs have become increasingly common in the industry today, with thousands of jobs lost this month alone. As sad as it may be, Glenn Schofield has made a very valid point about the current state of gaming.

God of War TV Show Adapts The Norse Era; Filming Starts in 2026

Story Highlight
  • God of War showrunner has confirmed that the show will adapt the Norse era.
  • The filming is set to begin in 2026, with scripts still being written, and season 2 has been confirmed.
  • The game director will be involved, and the show will loosely follow the 2018 reboot.

The God of War TV Show, produced by Prime Video, was announced in 2022. The show had a different team earlier, but towards the end of last year, it underwent a shakeup, which led to a new team taking over. New details have now been revealed.

Showrunner Ronald D. Moore recently revealed some key information about the God of War show, revealing it will adapt the Norse era from the 2018 reboot of the game. Moreover, it is scheduled to begin filming in 2026, although scripts are still being written.

Why it matters: This confirms that the show won’t be adapting the older games set in the Greek era, instead opting to skip directly to the latter stages of Kratos’ life.

The God of War TV show is set in the Norse era, based on the 2018 PS4 title.

Talking at the San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Moore discussed the upcoming God of War show. He said that filming will begin in 2026, with Season 2 already greenlit. The show takes place during the Norse era, with a focus on Atreus and Kratos.

God of War director Cory Barlog is also involved with the title. It has also been confirmed that it won’t copy the game frame by frame, but will instead adapt the game, with the relationship between the father and son at its central point.

Atreus From God of War
It will follow the dynamics of the father and son as its central plot.

Moore recently admitted that he isn’t a big gamer. While he has tried to play the game, he just can’t get a hold of the controls. Fortunately, Barlog will be there for assistance so that we can hope for a faithful adaptation

Can Treyarch Revive Call of Duty in 2025?

Story Highlights

  • Call of Duty 2025 has finally been revealed as Black Ops 7.
  • The game acts as a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 and will be set in the year 2035.
  • The Multiplayer mode may be getting a makeover alongside Zombies.
  • After many years of repeated content, player fatigue has set in, which needs to be addressed.

Call of Duty has always been a game loved by many. We all remember playing it with friends, and slowly but surely, the game made its way into our hearts. Now, nearly 20 years after the first title’s release, Treyarch and Raven Software have announced the making of Black Ops 7.

Gamers are seeking the thrill of COD once more and are anticipating its release. But there is a huge question that arises: will Treyarch be able to attract players back to the franchise?

Reinventing Call of Duty

Over the years, the franchise has changed significantly. The branching narratives and plots full of conspiracy were completely changed by the success of the Black Ops series. Now, Treyarch is making an attempt to bring that magic back.

The developers for the game have always pushed the boundaries of what it can be to try and provide the best gaming experience to its players. But we still have to account for 20 years’ worth of titles, which is an awfully long time period. As time passes, trends change and expectations rise. This may lead to player fatigue over repetitive content and the fall of the overall player count.

COD must combat this by introducing fresh ideas into the gameplay. They must rise to the occasion and deliver something truly worth remembering. This approach will help keep players engaged, which the developers are seeking.

What We Know So Far

COD has been rumored to be releasing on November 14, 2025. The game was formally announced at the Xbox Showcase 2025 and will revisit the Black Ops universe. A report by Insider Gaming suggested that the game will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2. The story will be a continuation of that which was set in motion in Black Ops 2. It has been rumored that some fan favorite characters will once again be returning to the screen.

Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will enjoy the game on the release date without any extra cost. Activision has confirmed that the game will be released on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Xbox PC, Battle.net, and Steam.

Multiplayer And Zombies

We may also see a change in the addictive multiplayer mode with possible integration to Warzone, which is the battle royale of COD of sorts. Also, leaks suggest the debut of a new villain following the death of Menendez.

One thing we all love about COD is its Zombie mode, where players fight against hordes of zombies that attack in waves to gather points for unlocking new areas and weapons. According to rumors, changes will be made to this mode to make it more story-driven. The mode, however, will still be round-based as seen in Black Ops 6.

Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming posted on X, stating that all the leaks seem to be credible. Considering his insights into COD in previous years, we can assume that the reports are accurate.

However, considering the major timeline shift from the 1990s to 2035 may lead to issues in continuity that fans are worried about. All eyes are on the developers, seeing how they manage.

Challenges To Be Addressed

COD is an old franchise with new titles being introduced yearly to the lineup. The last few games in the franchise have had mixed reviews as players saw that there was a severe lack of innovation. Apart from this, the plots and gameplay now seem repetitive, leading to franchise fatigue

In the past, COD has received a lot of backlash and has been accused of repetitive gameplay and stories. The beloved Zombies mode has also become full of recycled ideas, leading to a loss of interest in players.

The franchise is in dire need of some innovation to recapture its audience. Currently, players are expecting something different in COD 2025. Treyarch must tend to all these issues in its latest entry to the franchise or else it is game over.

Final Thoughts

Call of Duty is a franchise loved by many and one that has stayed true to its audience for many years. Treyarch must shed its old ways and truly lock in to deliver something new to the fans. Whether Call of Duty Black Ops 2025 is a success or a flop depends on whether Treyarch can balance the game to the players’ preferences.

Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, & More Can Be Banned Amid Mastercard Controversy

Story Highlight
  • Recently, a group has become famous for banning games from platforms like Steam that feature adult content.
  • Now, platforms like itch.io have further updated their policies, suggesting that popular games can be cancelled.
  • Games like Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, and many more franchises can be cancelled.

Steam recently introduced a new policy, banning some games with adult content that conflicted with the standards of payment processors, such as Mastercard and Visa.

Collective Shout, which the fandom is also calling the next Sweet Baby, has the leading role in it. This is a women-driven organisation that has played a key role in pressuring Mastercard and Visa to ban payment services for games featuring adult content.

Now, itch.io has quietly added some guidelines, which is why games like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption, and Resident Evil can get banned.

Why it matters: These organisations start targeting games and only promote those that align with their interests. This is a monopoly and should never be allowed in any industry.

New Policy
Some Platforms Are Changing Their Policies, Which Could Result in the Cancellation of Some of the Most Famous Games.

Some of these points are definitely present in some of the most popular video games, which means those games could be subject to bans. doctorbaixue on X, formerly known as Twitter, highlighted some games that could be cancelled, and your favourite game may be among those

Elden Ring, for example, features a complex and twisted story and environment. There is a lot of incest, but it is one of the most enjoyable and fun games to play. There is a reason why it won the Game of the Year award in 2022, but now an organisation has appeared out of nowhere and is targeting such games.

Some Of The Best Story Games Ever
Some Single-Player Titles May Get Cancelled.

Many games nowadays feature adult content, which could be a reason for them to be cancelled. Games are supposed to be pure fiction; they should never be compared with real life. Fiction allows one to make something from their wildest imagination. Therefore, banning them is not the solution.

What do you think about this new group trying to cancel some of the most famous games? Do you think they should be the ones to get cancelled? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Dying Light: The Beast Won’t Feature Microtransactions After Backlash From Virtual Currencies In Dying Light 2

Story Highlight
  • Dying Light: The Beast won’t feature any microtransaction elements or virtual currencies, as per the franchise director.
  • Dying Light 2 faced a lot of criticism for adding virtual currencies in a post-launch update.
  • Overall, Dying Light: The Beast is shaping up to be a solid release by Techland.

Dying Light 2 failed to capitalize on the hype of the first game and was considered a subpar entry in the zombie survival genre. One of the biggest complaints fans had regarding the game was the inclusion of microtransaction elements added post-launch.

Developer Techland has a lot of mistakes to rectify with the upcoming Dying Light: The Beast, which aims to return the series to its roots. The first ideal step is to avoid adding virtual currencies, which is something the series’ director has now confirmed.

Why it matters: Microtransactions have no place in a single-player game and have repeatedly caused the downfall of many titles. It’s a relief that Techland has finally realized this and decided not to feature the elements in the next entry.

In response to a fan urging Techland not to add microtransactions and virtual currencies in the game, franchise director Tymon Smektala assured him that they won’t be doing so.

Dying Light 2 offered in‑game cosmetics that players could buy only with a virtual currency. The developers added the currency in a post-launch update, but players could only purchase it in fixed increments. As such, fans bought more currency than they’d need most of the time.

Thankfully, the developers won’t repeat the same mistake twice with the threequel.

dying light the beast
The game director previously claimed that open-world quality matters more than its size.

Dying Light: The Beast aims to provide a fun experience and isn’t overly serious. Originally intended as an expansion for the sequel, the project evolved into a full-fledged release, offering a 40-hour experience.

Kyle Crane from the first game will return as the lead, which is another huge selling point for the game. Techland is quite confident in the release, even going as far as to take shots at Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.

Wuchang Patch 1.4 Increases Performance By Forcing Players Into Lower Res Without Telling Them

Story Highlight
  • Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received negative reviews on Steam due to intense performance issues.
  • The developer improved the issue with the latest patch.
  • However, new reports have shown that the patch forces players to play at a lower resolution without telling them.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was among the most anticipated releases of 2025, and you can see that by looking at its peak concurrent players on Steam. While some reviews gave it an unfair negative review, the game still attracted a massive number of players.

However, the majority have given it a negative review on Steam, mainly because the performance was abysmally poor. The last two patches have significantly increased performance, which seems pretty suspicious.

A new report has revealed that the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers developer improved the performance by secretly lowering the resolution.

Why it matters: If a game isn’t what it was promised to the fandom, then it is the developers’ duty to give them that instead of pulling some shenanigans that would just attract some controversy.

There have been numerous reports claiming that the developers are misleading players. It seems that the game’s developer, instead of actually improving the game, is forcing players to play at a lower resolution without informing them. Many players have also reported that they can’t play at the native resolution, despite selecting the option in the menu.

Daniel Owen, a YouTuber, has investigated such reports and proven that the developer is actually lying. Owen is using a high-end PC but chose RTX 3060 as a graphics card. He did this because the patch note mentions “supersampling resolution limits have been adjusted on select GPU models to prevent unintended performance degradation.”

This means that the resolution limits have been applied to some of the GPU models. To be more precise, Owen first tested the initial version of the game to see if such things were present before. Through testing, he concluded that the game can be played at native resolution, and performance does increase when the resolution is lowered.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Reviews
Wuchang Developer Seems To Be Lying About The Performance Increase With the Patch 1.4

However, after installing patch 1.4, the situation is different. When playing on the original version, Owen was getting around 29 FPS at 2K native resolution, but on the latest version, he is getting 37 FPS. This appears to be a performance increase, but as the resolution is lowered, the performance boost decreases.

It decreases so much that at 67, 59, and 50% resolution scaling, the performance is almost the same of the patch 1.4 with the initial one. At 100% resolution scaling, there is an 8 FPS boost, but at the other settings, the increase is only 2 FPS, which is definitely suspicious.

This means that you are not playing at the native rendering resolution, and the patch has only slightly increased performance.

Mafia Devs Already Planning Another Game After The Old Country

Story Highlight
  • Mafia: The Old Country is set to launch in a few days on August 8.
  • Hangar 13 is hiring a Principal AI Designer for the franchise, and this job ad suggests a new Mafia project is already in the works.
  • This could mean that the series’ next game will arrive sooner than expected.

Mafia: The Old Country is just over a week away from its release. Although the much-anticipated return of this franchise has been somewhat marred by the recent downgrade in the gameplay videos, fans remain excited for the full release.

Developer Hangar 13 is also likely to be enthusiastic about the series’ return. In fact, it seems the team already has plans to expand the series with future titles.

Why it matters: Hangar 13 took around nine years to make a fourth mainline entry for the IP. This job listing suggests that the fifth mainline release will not take nearly as long.

New Mafia Game Job Listing
Hangar 13 Is Recruiting a Principal AI Designer

Over on the Hangar 13 website, the studio is looking to hire a Principal AI Designer

Although the job listing states that the employee will contribute to Mafia: The Old Country, the game has already gone gold, and no significant changes will be made that require new hirings.

Additionally, the job listing states that the Principal AI Designer will be responsible for crafting new visions for a Mafia game.

Craft new archetypes that that fit the vision of a Mafia game

-Hangar 13

Due to the way this statement is presented, it appears the studio is recruiting for a future title rather than Mafia: The Old Country.

Of course, it’s impossible to predict how the team will proceed after its upcoming release. Because so much of modern AAA development hinges on profit margins and tight budgets, the game’s success will likely determine whether it receives a sequel.

However, this job listing suggests that Hangar 13, at the very least, plans to make another game as long as nothing goes terribly wrong.

Mafia: The Old Country
Mafia: The Old Country Went Gold A While Back

What this next game will be remains a mystery for now, but a remake is one possibility.  Starting next week, all eyes will be on Mafia: The Old Country, and fans hope to see the game do well after the long gap between the last two entries.

Do you think a new Mafia game being planned already is a good idea? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Friday The 13th Game Officially Confirmed To Be Getting A Sequel

Story Highlight
  • Horror Inc. recently announced a sequel to 2017’s Friday the 13th game.
  • The sequel is a top priority at the company.
  • For the second entry, fans want a single-player approach.

Following a rough legal battle regarding the ownership of the Friday the 13th Franchise, it is finally set to move forward, allowing Jason to make his way into new projects and appearances.

2025’s Comic Con had a whole separate panel dedicated to the Jason Universe, where the company finally announced a new movie based on the IP after 15 years alongside a sequel to 2017’s Friday the 13th: The Game.

Why it matters: Friday the 13th has a lot of potential in the gaming world, but was previously held down due to legal issues surrounding the IP. Hopefully, the sequel will iron out whatever issues there were with the first game.

There aren’t many details on the sequel aside from the fact that it is under development. However, as Horror Inc.’s VP says, the game is a priority at the company, so we’ll hopefully learn more about the project soon enough.

I can tell you that a new sequel movie and new sequel game are at the top of our list. It’s where most of our energy is going right now. And I can tell you finally we’re in a position to deliver on that

2017’s Friday the 13th: The Game started via a Kickstarter campaign that evolved into a complete multiplayer project. However, due to the lawsuit surrounding the IP, updates on the title were paused in 2018. Later, the game’s servers were completely shut down in 2020.

Developer Ilffonic Was Brutally Hit With Layoffs Last Year

However, for the sequel, fans have been demanding that developer Illfonic should converge towards a single-player title with a higher budget. They’re well aware of the demand, so creating a narrative-focused bloody experience shouldn’t be that much of a problem.
