Dying Light: The Beast has become the second-biggest launch in the series.
It reached 115,000 players over the weekend, surpassing the first title but falling behind the sequel.
It is also the best-rated Metacritic title of the series, with a very positive reception.
Dying Light: The Beast recently launched to a widely positive reception, becoming the highest-rated Metacritic game in the franchise. It has even beaten the first Dying Light in terms of players, marking a very successful launch for Techland.
The first game in the franchise only managed to max out at 45K players, while the sequel managed over 250K players, but now Dying Light: The Beast has managed to hit 115K players, becoming the second-biggest launch in the franchise.
Why it matters: Even before the launch, the title was poised to become a massive hit. Although it couldn’t manage to break past its predecessor’s number, its reviews are much superior to those.
Dying Light: The Beast is now the second-biggest launch of the series.
Dying Light: The Beast hit 115K players on the weekend. While even higher numbers were expected, given how it was wishlisted a million times, it’s still very decent. The overall reviews on Steam are still very positive.
Many things make the game stand out. One of its main highlights is the performance. In a world where almost every game launch is broken, it’s even well-optimized for lower-tier hardware, albeit there’s no ray tracing at launch.
The overall reception for the game has been widely positive.
Furthermore, the mechanics have been revamped, and everything from the parkour to the combat feels much better now. In addition, it continues the story of Kyle Crane, so it is basically a sequel to the first game.
Overall, Dying Light: The Beast is one of the best launches of the year. Techland has truly delivered once again, as it combines the horror survival genre with action to a great effect, like the previous titles in the franchise.
What are your thoughts on Dying Light: The Beast being the second-biggest launch in the franchise’s history? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers forum.

Gamers often invest heavily in top-tier GPUs and processors when building their dream rigs, yet they neglect what may be the most important part of all: the monitor. Choosing the perfect monitor within your budget is crucial to achieving the best output from your system.
So, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option that delivers the best performance and premium feel, then the Acer Nitro 280 Hz gaming monitor might be precisely what you are looking for.
Whether you’re a casual or competitive gamer, the monitor comes with incredible specs at a respectable price point. And conveniently, the monitor is enjoying a record-low price on Amazon at the time of writing.
You can snag the incredible full HD monitor for a staggeringly low price of $129 instead of the usual $149.
Quality Visuals: The KG251Q 24.5" monitor with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio...
The 24.5-inch monitor offers sharp visuals with its reflective glossy surface. Expect lower input lag in gaming and video playback at 280 Hz refresh rates, so even fast-paced rounds of Counter-Strike 2 would feel incredibly smooth. The ultra-fast 1 ms response times also make it the ideal choice for competitive entries due to reduced motion blur and ghosting.
Acer’s Visual Response Boost (VRB) technology also simulates faster responses by inserting black frames between images, ensuring that gamers get the smoothest visuals possible. AMD’s FreeSync Premium system also lets you sync the monitor’s refresh rate with your GPU to remove screen tearing and stuttering.
The monitor also boasts a widescreen VA panel for immersive gaming and media, and HDR (with HDR10 format) for enhanced contrast, brightness, and color depth. It also features DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 for wide compatibility.
The Acer Nitro brand is known for value-driven innovation, supplying competitive gamers and enthusiasts with jaw-dropping monitors at respectable prices. The ultra-thin bezels also turn this 280 Hz gaming monitor into quite a looker, so the 13% off deal makes this arguably the most justified choice.

Silent Hill f shifts horror to 1960s Japan, creating cultural unfamiliarity for unsettling players.
The game makes use of Japanese symbolism, such as red spider lilies that symbolize death and decay.
The game also incorporates Japanese folklore into its gameplay.
Beautiful yet fragile architecture mixed with eerie silence builds psychological tension and makes players vulnerable.
The Silent Hill series has always been considered top-tier horror in the gaming industry. It blends grotesque imagery with eerie atmospheres to unsettle players. With Silent Hill f, developers are taking the series into uncharted territory.
Unlike previous titles set in a foggy American town, the new entry takes players to 1960s Japan. This shift introduces a fresh layer of horror to the series, tied to Japanese folklore and symbolism.
Unfamiliar Setting
A big part of what makes horror effective is unfamiliarity and strangeness. For the Western world, especially Silent Hill f is based on something that to them may feel alien, which may make it the best entry yet.
With its setting, the game immediately creates a sense of horror from the get-go. From wooden houses to sliding paper doors and a quiet countryside road, the game uses imagery to build fear.
Hanako Silent Hill f – Image Credits (Pinterest)
All of this may seem peaceful at first, but in the game, these aspects tend to become fragile, isolating, and creepy backdrops for horror. The game is all about creating a stunningly horrific experience through something the audience has never seen.
Turning Beauty to Creepy
One of the most striking aspects of the game is its use of flowers, especially the red spider lily. In traditional Japanese culture, this flower symbolizes death and the afterlife. The flower is also referred to as the “Corpse Flower,” which indicates that it is considered a sign of bad omen.
Spider Lilly Flower – Image Credits (Konami)
In the game, seeing something so beautiful spread across the environment or growing out of twisted and mangled bodies is truly disturbing. It showcases that beauty can often quickly turn into something horrifying. In my opinion, adding this flower to the game was a beautiful touch, adding to the overall horror vibe and beauty.
Japanese Folklore
Japan has folklore that tends to get under your skin. It is filled with spirits, curses, and ghostly legends. Silent Hill expands into this, weaving stories about ancestral guilt, superstition, and supernatural forces beyond human control.
Silent Hill f – Image Credits (Steam)
The game will also likely make use of Yokai legends. Yokais are basically mythical creatures and monsters found in Japanese folklore. There are references in the game to creatures such as Rokurokubi (stretched head/detached head yokai), the slit mouthed woman (Kuchisake-Onna), and Ayakakashi (yokai that appears near water’s surface). Whether the game will use direct adaptation or change it up a bit is yet to be seen.
Sound, Space, and Silence
The atmosphere of Silent Hill f goes a step beyond just visuals. Traditional Japanese architecture, with its open layouts and thin walls, creates a feeling of vulnerability in the player. The eerie silence in this setting does not feel comfortable but is rather oppressive. Every creak on the wooden flooring and the whisper of wind heightens tension.
Silent Hill f Setting – Image Credits (Konami)
This spatial setting, alongside Akira Yamaoka’s chilling sound direction, ensures that even emptiness itself becomes a source of horror. Just like when you’re home alone and every small sound suddenly seems scary, Silent Hill f also uses the same feeling of loneliness. All of these factors allow for the game to be more appealing.
Silent Hill f is more than just a change of setting; it’s a cultural reimagining of what horror can be. What will make the game truly terrifying is how it will create horror from the simplest of things. The game will quite literally scare the life out of you, both subtly and a hits you in the face kind of way.
Instead of focusing on monsters and decaying environments, the game creates horror in the form of contrast, beauty and corruption, tradition and terror, serenity and suffocation. Silent Hill f reminds us that horror can come from more than what we can normally see and may lie in the quiet tension between something beautiful and dread.

TKL gives you better access to most of the useful keys like: DEL, HOME, PageUp, PageDown, END, and arrow keys.
Not only that, the width of most TKL keyboards looks aesthetically pleasing compared to other crammed, smaller keyboards.
In gaming, its right side does smack with the mouse when I flick it, but for the most part, it is much better than the other ones I’ve used.
Tenkeyless (TKL) keyboards have become a go-to for quite a long time. Initially, I used to hate them because they took the extra space, and I preferred the 65% but over time, TKL has grown on me. Let me explain the reasons why.
Keyboard Sizes (Image Credits – Monsgeek EU)
Why TKL Is The King?
When we speak about the sizes of keyboards, the 100% full-sized layout was already out of the options. This is because I always hated the numpad anyway, and it took up so much space that it was a no-brainer to ditch that altogether.
Compared To Other Sizes
Then there’s 75%, which, although it is pretty good, looks good because it has the arrow keys, but it looks abnormally taller than your usual keyboards. Even though a lot of people might disagree, given the hype around 75% keyboard such as Aula F75, but for me, it gets negative points for the poor aesthetics.
Yes, it might have a knob or even a screen like on the Tecware Spectre 75, but I couldn’t care less because a keyboard should be slim when it comes to its width. Again, I’m being very picky, but that’s just my opinion.
Tecware Spectre 75 With Screen And Knob (Image Credits – Tech4Gamers)
Then we have the 65%, which has the arrow keys and has the optimum width as well, which are plus points for me, but everything is crammed together without many gaps. For me, it looks cluttered, and I love it when keyboards have little spaces for the keys to have “breathing room.”
The same issue is with the 60%; it feels like you just squeezed all the keys and fit them into a keyboard chassis. Moreover, you need to put extra effort into accessing the arrow keys, and there’s no ‘delete’ key.
More Access To Keys
For me, I need to play games and use my keyboard for content writing as well, so along with the arrow keys, keys like DEL, END, HOME, Pageup and Pagedown matter to me a lot. And all of those keys are available in the TKL.
Accessable Keys In Corsair K70 Pro TKL (Image Credits – Tech4Gamers)
Apart from content writing, these keys are very helpful in casual browsing as well. For instance, if you have to scroll all the way back up, you just hit the HOME key and you’re at the top in an instance.
And if you compare these with the 60% or the 65%, you have to go through additional steps just to access these basic keys, which might be too small to ignore for some people but a source of annoyance for others.
Function Row
I couldn’t care much about the Function row as well, but it does fill the keyboard’s width in the TKL, so it looks good aesthetically. Some TKL keyboards, like the Epomaker Shadow X, do come without the F-row, and it looks very weird as if you’ve chopped the head of a TKL keyboard.
Epomaker Shadow X (Image Credits – Tech4Gamers)
Better Typing
Typing feels so much better on the TKL, at least for me, because I feel less fatigue over long typing sessions, and my fingers tend to glide along naturally in this layout. On the smaller keyboards like the 60% and the 65%, I tend to misclick because of the reduced gap.
Drawbacks In Gaming
In gaming, however, I still do find the TKL a bit uncomfortable because my mouse keeps hitting the right section of the keyboard when I try to flick. Keeping the keyboard further to the left side puts strain on my arms, and it becomes awkward.
And if I drag it towards to right side, there’s less space for my mouse with my medium-sized desk, and then I have to extend my right arm further away in an awkward position. So, this is a bit of a downside that I don’t experience in the smaller layouts, especially for gaming.
Ultimately, the TKL is the best of both worlds, even for gaming, except for a few instances. Moreover, these are just my opinions, and I’m very particular about the peripherals I use, and these don’t apply to every single user.
Still, my love for TKL has grown ever since I started using the Razer Huntsman TKL Tournament Edition, which was ahead of its time when it was released and still holds up great among other newer keyboards.

Fans are not happy with Microsoft raising Xbox Series S|X prices for the second time this year.
They are not entirely convinced that tariffs are responsible for both price hikes.
Many now believe this is a strategic move from Microsoft as it prepares to exit gaming hardware altogether.
The Xbox Series S|X consoles have become an interesting example of Microsoft’s current relationship with the hardware market. Both consoles have sold around 30 million units since 2020, and Microsoft has only made matters worse by raising prices twice over the last few months.
Following the latest pricing update, the Xbox Series S and X cost $400 and $650, respectively. Many fans also believe this is Microsoft’s attempt at slowly phasing out its hardware division.
Why it matters: The Xbox division is generally doing better than ever, but hardware pricing has only gone up.
Fans Are Concerned About The Future After The Xbox Series S|X Price Hike
1 of 4
Over on Twitter, fans did not have a lot of positive words for Xbox and Microsoft after the latest announcement.
Many are convinced that these steps allude to the gaming giant’s exit from the hardware market. They think Microsoft is attempting to maximize the profit from each Xbox Series S|X unit sold since the consoles have completely lost momentum.
Prominent journalists like Ryan McCaffery also chimed in, arguing that Microsoft would be better off completely giving up on hardware at this point. The journalist compared Xbox’s current state to Sega’s position before the Japanese gaming giant abandoned hardware for good.
Just go full SEGA at this point
Various fans are still unwilling to believe that tariffs are entirely responsible for the price hikes. Instead, they think Microsoft is attempting to use the worldwide economy as an opportunity to gradually exit the console market.
It’s not tariffs. I think Microsoft is intentionally trying to price themselves out of the console market.
Xbox Series X Now Costs As Much As $800 In The US Thanks To Tariffs
Ultimately, Microsoft’s intentions behind the price hike remain a mystery. The gaming giant has already committed to one more generation of console hardware, but it’s hard to see how Xbox hardware will survive if Microsoft continues to alienate consumers any further.
Perhaps Microsoft’s hardware future lies in collaborations with companies like ASUS and Lenovo for Xbox hardware.
Do you think fans are on to something here? Can you see Microsoft making more consoles in the future? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

RTX 50 series GPUs are now selling below their suggested retail price, unlike their initial launch, when they were overpriced and hard to find.
The RTX 5070 is available for less than its official price at multiple US retailers.
However, other models like the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 are still selling at their standard recommended price.
When the RTX 50 series GPUs were launched, they initially disappointed many, but sales remained strong nonetheless. Even though these GPUs have better availability, we can still see several 50 series GPUs below the MSRP right now.
Previously, the RTX 50s were not only pricey but they were also overpriced in the first few weeks of introduction, and the RTX 5090 took months to become widely available in retailers.
This was not limited to the high-end RTX 5090 and RTX 5080; when the mid-range RTX 5060 Ti was released, prices were also raised owing to tariffs, and NVIDIA indicated that there was nothing they could do.
Currently, multiple US retailers, including Best Buy, Newegg, Walmart, and Amazon, are selling the RTX 5070 for less than its MSRP.
Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
The first one on the discounted 50 series GPUs list is the ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 SFF, which costs $523, a $26 discount from the $549 suggested retail price. That specific model is no longer available; however, Newegg has the ASUS PRIME RTX 5070 for $529 (open box). The PNY RTX 5070 OC is the most affordable option.
The refurbished version costs $489.99. If you want the cheapest option without being reconditioned or open-box, you must pay the MSRP of $549. Other graphics cards, such as the RTX 5070 Ti, can be bought for $749 at Best Buy, and the RTX 5080 for $999 on Amazon, meaning they are essentially sold at their recommended price.
If you want the best 1080p gaming performance, go with the RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti GPUs. Both are excellent choices for 1080p extreme, but the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB will also perform admirably at 1440p. And if you want genuine 1440p gaming performance, try the GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti.

PC Gaming is projected to grow by 35% in 2025 to nearly $44.5 billion despite inflation and tariffs.
Windows 11 hardware requirements are causing a surge in new hardware purchases.
Over 100 million gamers are estimated to require a new CPU to be compatible with Windows 11.
With the Xbox Series X now costing as much as $800, PC Gaming is definitely the most viable option, with the added benefit of having the biggest catalog for gaming, both old and new.
The PC Gaming market has experienced unprecedented growth recently. A recent study indicates that this market is projected to grow by a significant 35% in 2025, reaching an estimated $44.5 billion.
Why it matters: The era of gaming consoles is slowly coming to an end, thanks to anti-consumer practices by major corporations. As such, PC has become the most consumer-friendly option for gamers, evidenced by this report.
PC Gaming Market Will Stay Over $45 Billion For The Next Few Years || Credits: Jon Peddie Research
Jon Peddie Research compiled a five-year projection for PC hardware. In 2025, the market is expected to grow by 35% to $44.5 billion, accounting for desktops and notebooks, DIY systems, and peripherals/accessories.
A 35% growth is tremendous considering how inflation and tariffs have adversely affected gamers’ ability to upgrade or buy new PCs or other hardware. However, the actual reason for this growth is quite different.
With Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 and making Windows 11 mandatory, compatible hardware is now required.
A senior analyst at Jon Peddie Research states that over 100 million gamers require a CPU upgrade to migrate to Windows 11. With new CPU requirements, RAM and GPU upgrades naturally follow.
Additionally, the report reflects the buying habits of most PC gamers today.
We are observing that most PC gamers are simply buying new pre-built systems.
For console players who will move towards PC Gaming, pre-built PCs are the most feasible option.
Furthermore, the same study reveals that the entry-level PC Gaming market is expected to decline over the next five years. The projected loss is 13% of the PC Gaming population, and this includes 10 million players who will leave the PC Gaming market entirely and switch to other platforms. However, some of them are also expected to upgrade to expensive PC builds.

Ghost of Yotei’s trophy list has been leaked ahead of the official launch.
The game, similar to its predecessor, has over 50 trophies, including the Platinum unlock.
These trophies suggest gamers can easily spend over 100 hours playing the upcoming PlayStation title.
Ghost of Yotei is set to launch in just a few more days. Hot off the heels of Death Stranding 2, this release will mark yet another solid addition to the PS5’s first-party lineup.
Ahead of this release, leaks about the game are also beginning to flood the internet. Among the latest information, Ghost of Yotei’s official trophy list has shown up online, and it suggests that enthusiast fans will play the game for over 100 hours.
Why it matters: Now that AAA releases cost $70 or more, fans look for more and more value with each new release. Fortunately, Ghost of Yotei seems to deliver the value fans are looking for.
Ghost of Yotei Is Also Showing Early Signs of Success
In total, the game has 54 trophies, ranging from Bronze, Silver, and Gold trophies. To nobody’s surprise, collecting all the trophies unlocks the prized Platinum trophy for Ghost of Yotei.
The trophies themselves range from the usual unlocks for story objectives to those that require completing a task a specific number of times. Various trophies also require obtaining all melee, ranged, and quickfire weapons.
Elsewhere, some trophies are reserved for specific combat interactions that may require fans several attempts to get right. Follow this link for the full trophy list, but do note that some trophies might contain minor spoilers.
As someone who already got the platinum for Ghost of Tsushima, I can see how Ghost of Yotei will require anywhere from 50 to 100 hours for the full experience. In fact, those who take their time going through the game could even end up spending longer trying to obtain the Platinum trophy.
Ghost of Yotei officially launches on October 2, and the game is looking better than ever. The official review embargo also lifts soon, so opinions from the media should be available in a few days from now.

Ghost of Yotei has recently faced significant criticism due to its involvement in a major controversy.
Despite the backlash, the game is performing remarkably well, with nearly two weeks remaining before its official release.
The deluxe edition is outselling almost every other PlayStation title across 11 different countries.
Ghost of Yotei has been receiving criticism from the fandom ever since it was revealed. The game has attracted backlash for several reasons, with the latest involving a hate comment from a developer who has since been fired. Sucker Punch has also publicly apologized for the incident.
Another controversy recently emerged after a comment made by the game’s main lead, adding further fuel to the backlash. With all the controversy and negativity surrounding it, one might expect the game to struggle at launch. However, it has already topped the pre-order charts on PlayStation Stores in multiple countries.
Why it matters: A game facing constant criticism performing this well is surprising. Still, Sucker Punch has built a strong legacy with titles like Infamous and Ghost of Tsushima, which may be contributing to the high demand.

Puff, a user on IconEra, has shared a list of countries where Ghost of Yotei is performing exceptionally well. According to the post, the game ranks within the top 3 in all 11 countries listed, even securing the top spot in several of them.
The list includes countries like the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and more. It is worth noting that the deluxe edition of the game is outselling the base version in every single country, which is quite surprising considering it costs more.
The deluxe edition does not offer any major perks or early access to the game. However, it does include the Snake’s Armor set, an alternate armor dye, a unique horse and saddle color, an in-game charm, a gold Sword Kit, and the Traveler’s Maps.
Among these, the Traveler’s Maps are probably the most notable additions.
Anyhow, it is impressive that Ghost of Yotei is outselling almost every other game in 11 countries, especially with two weeks left before its official worldwide release. The game will officially launch on October 2nd, 2025, with no details currently available on a potential PC release.

Sucker Punch says Ghost of Yotei budget and scope are quite similar to its predecessor.
This marks a change in PlayStation’s policy where sequels got a huge budget increase.
It shows the shift in policies to tackle increasing budgets and the risk of failure.
Ghost of Yotei is set to release in just a couple of weeks amid all the controversy surrounding it. While most PlayStation sequels have seen a tremendous increase in budgets, their upcoming title will change the tradition.
According to Sucker Punch’s co-founder, Ghost of Yotei has a similar budget to that of Ghost of Tsushima, and it also had almost the same number of developers working on it, with the same development time.
Why it matters: Previously, we have seen that PlayStation bumps the sequel budgets of its hit titles to a ridiculous amount, but considering the financial situation and inflation, it has decided to keep the scope similar this time.
The Ghost of Yotei budget is quite similar to that of Ghost of Tsushima
In an interview with Game File (paywalled), Brian Fleming talked about how Ghost of Yotei had a very similar development timeline to that of its predecessor. Ghost of Tsushima cost around $60 million, so the sequel also had a similar budget.
When we look at the financials and the costs, the man years, the amount of months that the team—times the size of the team—worked on it, [it’s] very, very similar, actually
– Brian Fleming
This is a huge step in a different direction, as the budgets used to be huge. For context, Marvel’s Spider-Man had a budget of $90 million, and with Spider-Man 2, it was bumped up to $300 million. Similar trends were seen with The Last of Us and Horizon.
The budget is much less compared to other PS sequels
So, on average, we saw a budget increase of over 200% with older sequels, which isn’t the case anymore. This could be because many major companies are changing their approaches and decreasing budgets.
If a game that costs $300 million fails, it costs the company a lot. While not a single-player game, we saw this when Concord failed. Since then, Sony has been more considerate about budget and its game development policies.
What are your thoughts on the Ghost of Yotei budget being almost the same as its predecessor? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

GPU sales have surged up 27% QoQ in Q2 2025.
CPU sales have also increased, and the increase in PC component sales this time of the year is unusual.
The report reveals that buyers have prepared in advance for the upcoming US tariffs, which will increase the prices of PC components multifold.
These are challenging times to be a gamer, especially with rising costs due to economic conditions further burdened by the tariffs imposed by the US government. Spending by consumers has been hitting new lows recently due to limited buying power.
Surprisingly, stats reveal GPU sales in Q2 2025 have surged by 27% QoQ, which is really remarkable considering how sales are usually lower during the mid-year. Interestingly, the same study suggests that this rise in sales is likely due to the lingering fear of tariffs that may soon affect PC components.
Why it matters: The US government plans to impose 100% tariffs on foreign-made chips, and PC components will take a massive hit as a result. Now is the perfect time to upgrade or buy a new PC.
AIB Sale Chart For The Last Decade || Credits: John Peddie Research
New figures by Jon Peddie Research show that GPU sales have increased 27% QoQ and a massive 22% jump YoY. Furthermore, Nvidia now holds 94% of the AIB market, further asserting its dominance.
Aside from GPU sales, CPU sales have also been bumped up by 8% QoQ and 13% YoY. Desktop CPUs have increased their market share to 33%, up 9% QoQ.
The report further states:
We think it is a continuation of higher prices expected due to the tariffs and buyers trying to get ahead of that.
The report further reveals that the prices of mid-range and entry-level GPUs were reduced, while high-end GPUs saw a further price hike.
Moving towards the holidays, expect higher prices for all PC components and a decrease in sales overall since buyers have spent their money.
Nvidia recently also cut the prices for the Blackwell GPU lineup amidst poor sales and oversupply, and it appears that they want to clear out their stock fully.
