- Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has lost nearly half of its PC player count shortly after launch.
- The Steam version was already not the best performer, especially for a game featuring the iconic Marvel roster.
- Many players are currently upset about the game’s input delay, regional restrictions, anti-cheat, etc.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls marks Arc System Works’ latest fighter, but the game’s PC version has not been the greatest so far. This version was already under scrutiny before release due to regional restrictions, and things have only changed for the worse since then.
Now, the fighting game on PC is down to nearly 50% of its not-so-impressive player count compared to launch day.
Why it matters: Many consider Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls a spiritual successor to the beloved Marvel vs. Capcom franchise. The game’s PC version has been a major letdown so far.

The PC version of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has seen a major player drop shortly after release. Peaking at just over 12K players in the last 24 hours, the game has lost around half of its players.
Interestingly, it has also quickly fallen off the Steam best-sellers list. The game is currently nowhere to be seen in the top 10 best-sellers, which is odd for a title that has both Marvel and Arc System Works’ name attached to it.
This is concerning early signal for a new fighting game, especially since the genre thrives during the launch period. The launch period typically marks community discussions and discoveries for the players, so it is one of the most exciting times for any new fighting game title.
Of course, the game’s PC problems are quite well-documented by now. Even major fighting game content creators like Maximillian Dood have covered these issues lately, encouraging others to just stick with the PS5 version.
Not only is the game said to be poorly optimized, but it also has anti-cheat issues that prevent it from launching on Linux-based devices. Moreover, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is not available in many regions to buy on PC, among other issues.
Have you played Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on PC? What do you think of the game on this platform?
