Sony Being Very Tone Deaf Here!

Story Highlight
  • FromSoftware wants to see Bloodborne on PC.
  • The team would love to see new players going through this IP for the first time.
  • PlayStation continues to ignore the franchise despite the demand.

Bloodborne and the PC community have a strange relationship. Although the game has been locked to the PlayStation ecosystem for nearly a decade, the PC audience is still hopeful for a port.

Look no further than Sony’s recent State of Play for evidence of this demand. However, it seems the audience isn’t the only one who wants a PC port. According to FromSoftware, many developers also want to see the game on PC.

Why it matters: PlayStation has ported its most important first-party titles to PC. Fans want a similar treatment for FromSoftware’s take on gothic horror.

In a new interview, FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki once again addressed Bloodborne. A few months back, he noted that seeing the excitement around this IP was great. The developer has spoken on the PC port this time and says the fans are not alone.

I know for a fact these guys(Bloodborne developers) want a PC port.

The developer did not share his own opinion, stating that he would get in trouble if he said anything on a PC port. However, Miyazaki noted that he would not be opposed to the idea.

This exchange suggests there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Perhaps Bloodborne has found itself in a difficult situation, leading to its current status as one of PlayStation’s abandoned projects.

According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, more players joining this franchise would never be bad. Therefore, he would like to see the game on PC eventually, even if this may be nothing more than wishful thinking.

Recent reports have stated that Sony is working on a remaster/remake. This could also lead to a PC port down the line, but such reports have been shaky at best. As such, it may be wise to take them with a grain of salt.
