The Star Wars franchise already has several well-received games, and with upcoming titles like the Star Wars Jedi Survivor sequel and KOTOR Remake expected in the coming years, the series is expected to remain popular among gamers.
However, Lucasfilm Games is also teasing more games that fans will enjoy.
Why it matters: Star Wars is one of entertainment’s biggest IPs ever, and there is plenty of untapped potential when it comes to game adaptations of the franchise.
Lucasfilm Games appears to have plans in motion, but the company is not ready to name them just yet. Speaking in an interview, Douglas Reilly, the Lucasfilm Games VP, said the company is exploring new projects that will “surprise” fans.
He noted that the team has been quite open to pitches from developers and different ideas. The VP also pointed out that Lucasfilm Games is open to working with both bigger and smaller teams.
We’re exploring all kinds of things large and small with partners that I think are going to continue surprise folks.
If rumors are anything to go by, one of these projects could be a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2.
