Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has many fans excited as the epic conclusion to the remake trilogy and the biggest game in the series yet. Square Enix seems to be addressing a lot of player feedback with its upcoming entry, but one detail could upset players. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is adding more player guidance to help gamers stay on track. Why it matters: Recently, a game like Marvel’s Wolverine was criticized for its hand-holding during navigation, something that was later tweaked by the developers due to the criticism. Square Enix is making Final Fantasy 7 Revelation easier to follow, with more on-screen guidance being added to help players stay on track. As per director Naoki Hamaguchi, the change is aimed at reducing confusion for players who may not want to constantly check menus or the map. The good news is that the studio seems aware that not everyone wants extra guidance on the screen at all times. The game’s director has noted that options to tweak these elements are currently being considered. This is something players seem to be actively seeking today, especially if the Marvel’s Wolverine criticism is anything to go by. Of course, the distinction between Marvel’s Wolverine and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation comes from the latter’s open-world nature, which makes a better case for player-friendly navigation. In REVELATION, we've included more on-screen guidance than in our previous titles so that even players who are not familiar with open-world games can enjoy the experience without getting lost. By following that guidance, players can naturally explore the world as it gradually… https://t.co/DVbzxbcor5 — 浜口直樹 /FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, April 8 2027 (@nhamaguc) September 21, 2026 Another upcoming accessibility feature is Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s auto-leveling system, which will allow players to skip the JRPG grind altogether and raise their party’s level to a preset recommendation in an instant. This system, however, is completely optional, so it will be interesting to see whether the team also allows the navigational hints to be turned off in a similar manner.
