FF7 Revelation Confirmed To Be Series’ Biggest Game Yet With 200GB Storage Requirement

The FF7 Trilogy Finale Will Be Huge!

Story Highlight
  • Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is expected to take up about 200GB of storage.
  • The file size makes it the biggest entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy and the entire series so far.
  • This means that the entire Final Fantasy 7 trilogy takes up over 400GB of storage across all platforms.

Unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation won’t ship on two discs, and gamers will have to download chunks of the game data to make it fully playable.

The reason this is so appears to be that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is going to be massive, with director Naoki Hamaguchi confirming that the RPG will require around 200GB of storage.

Why it matters: Game sizes have gone up quite a bit in the last few years, but the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 trilogy finale seems to be kicking things up a notch further.

FF7 Revelation Will Not Go Easy On Storage At All

According to VGC’s report, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is shaping up to be the biggest game in the remake trilogy. As per director Naoki Hamaguchi, the game takes up twice as much storage as the typical AAA title today.

This also means that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be the series’ biggest game in terms of sheer content alone. In the past director Hamaguchi has admitted that a bigger world isn’t necessarily a better one, so he will move forward with a balance in mind.

Do note that the entire Final Fantasy 7 trilogy will take up a combined 400+GB of storage following the finale’s release.

Anyhow, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation having a file size as large as 200GB will certainly be a huge deal. No other game will likely match this storage size anytime soon, although GTA 6 might just be even larger.
