EA Sports FC 27 $150 Edition Currently Outselling GTA 6 On PlayStation

EA's Annual Sports Franchise Is Just Too Popular!

Story Highlight
  • EA Sports FC 27’s premium edition currently ranks ahead of GTA 6 on PlayStation.
  • This is the case across various European countries, where the $150 title is outselling GTA 6.
  • In the US, GTA 6 is also being outsold by another sports title, NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition.

Rockstar Games officially kicked off the pre-orders for GTA 6 last month, and since then, the game has made waves across the platform.

Estimates suggest GTA 6 has already made millions of dollars, and Take-Two has even adjusted its financial forecast to account for the game’s release. Interestingly, however, the game is currently being outsold by EA’s incredibly popular sports franchise.

Why it matters: EA Sports FC 27 ranking above GTA 6 may come as quite a shock, considering the former is an incredibly anticipated title and the latter is part of an annual franchise.

As is the case every year, EA’s annual football IP seems to be set for incredible success across all platforms.

As Zuby_Tech reports, the game is even outselling GTA 6 on PlayStation at the moment. This is the case across multiple European countries, including the UK. Perhaps more surprising is the fact that GTA 6 is being outsold by EA Sports FC 27’s $150 edition.

In Europe, this version is priced at €159.99, making it all the more surprising that it is somehow challenging GTA 6. On the other hand, EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Plus Edition comes in third place on the US PlayStation Store.

However, in the US, NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition is outselling GTA 6. The similarity is that both sports games cost $150 and are comfortably beating out GTA 6’s $100 edition.

Of course, Rockstar has yet to meaningfully kick off marketing for GTA 6, so its big title will likely regain the top spot soon enough. Still, these rankings are surprising and show exactly why publishers like EA continue to pursue annual sports titles.

What do you think about the two sports titles beating out GTA 6? Let’s discuss in the comments below.
