Assassin's Creed Fans Want To See More of Edward's Story!

Story Highlight
  • Fans are in favor of Ubisoft making a sequel to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
  • Many argue that another game exploring the Golden Age of Piracy could do wonders for the series.
  • Some also believe the French giant should remake Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry and expand it further as a pseudo-sequel to the game.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has quickly become a fan-favorite release among those fond of the series. Ubisoft’s latest entry puts the focus once again on Edward Kenway, highlighting his journey from a cutthroat pirate to a respected master assassin.

With millions of players returning to the game, many have been reminded just how great this particular entry has always been. In fact, many are now asking for a Black Flag sequel.

Why it matters: With the exception of Ezio, Ubisoft hasn’t focused on a single assassin for more than one game. Fans feel now is the time to make a true Assassin’s Creed sequel.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Is A Remake

Over on Resetera, fans recently discussed the possibility of Ubisoft making Assassin’s Creed Black Flag 2. In particular, they still seem to want a game focusing on pirate gameplay and naval combat.

A poll on the same thread shows that over 60% of voters are in favor of Ubisoft making Black Flag 2. Of course, many have also pointed out that Skull and Bones basically tried to do this already, although it did end up disappointing in more ways than one.

Many believe that the Golden Age of Piracy is still ripe with opportunities. Fans think that Ubisoft could even move on from Edward Kenway if necessary and focus on an entirely different cast of characters.

Some suggest that the team should tackle the DLC Freedom Cry next and remake it Black Flagon a bigger scale. Similar demand for Black Flag 2 has been expressed in online discussions on websites like Reddit.

Interestingly enough, many were asking for a sequel to the game even before Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s success.

For those curious, Assassin’s Creed’s Kenway trilogy spans three games. Although Edward Kenway himself does not show up in any other game, Assassin’s Creed Rogue can be considered a spiritual successor to the title, since it features Edward’s son and plays largely similar to Black Flag.

Nonetheless, the prospect of a sequel does sound enticing, but it remains to be seen if Ubisoft is still interested in expanding on a story that has been well-established for over a decade now.
