- Gears of War: E-Day’s listed PC requirements point to a lighter-than-expected UE5 release.
- The game’s Steam page currently lists very modest hardware requirements at the low-end.
- 1080p 60FPS gameplay requires a GPU like the RTX 2060, while 1440p 60FPS gameplay requires the RTX 3060 Ti.
Gears of War: E-Day launches soon, and the game will be availably only on PC besides Xbox consoles.
Given its impressive Unreal Engine 5 visuals, many have been curious to learn more about the game’s system requirements. The initial list shared by The Coalition suggests the game will be one of the more optimized Unreal Engine 5 releases on PC.
Why it matters: Many believe Gears of War: E-Day will be the title to truly show off what Unreal Engine 5 is fully capable of. As such, these requirements are quite interesting.

Looing at the above image, the requirements are much lower than many would expect from a current-generation AAA shooter built on UE5.
Unreal Engine 5 has produced some stunning games, but PC players have also seen plenty of releases arrive with heavy GPU demands, stutter concerns, and aggressive upscaling expectations.
Gears of War: E-Day points to hardware around the RTX 2060 and RX 6600 class at the entry-level. Those looking to play the game at 1440p can expect to use a GPU like the RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT.
CPU requirements are also modest, with 1080p and 1440p asking a Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 5 5600, respectively. Moreover, RAM requirements are quite reasonable at 16GB, especially due to the ongoing memory shortages.
Fans should also expect Gears of War: E-Day to run well on consoles due to just how great The Coalition’s optimization has been in the past.
