- More than 80% of players are looking to buy the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6.
- Only 18.8% of fans are opting for the $80 standard variant.
- Rockstar has locked a plethora of content behind the pricey version of the game.
Following the price reveal yesterday, hype for GTA 6 has gone through the roof. Rockstar has finally let the cat out of the bag, revealing that the standard edition of the game will retail for $80, alongside a more expensive ultimate variant that will cost $100.
Pre-orders for the open-world title also opened today, with the company giving a plethora of bonuses to anyone who pre-orders GTA 6 digitally. As it turns out, players are surprisingly ready to buy the more expensive edition of the game despite the $20 buffer.
Why it matters: After all the controversy around the pricing of GTA 6, players automatically opting for the $100 edition of the title makes the entire discourse feel silly in hindsight.

According to a poll conducted by Tom Henderson on X, over 80% of fans are planning to purchase the $100 Ultimate Edition of GTA 6. With 7,112 votes on the poll at the time of writing, only 18.8% of players are looking to purchase the standard version of the title.
Considering how Rockstar has locked a myriad of content behind the more expensive variant, it isn’t surprising that 81.2% of fans are opting for the Ultimate Edition. Five shops, including hairdressers, nail salons, tattoo artists, and mod shops, will be exclusive to the $100 bundle of GTA 6.
Furthermore, players will also get special side missions and weapons if they purchase the Ultimate Edition. This decision from Rockstar hasn’t gone down well with the gaming community, with fans criticizing the company for making content exclusive to the $100 variant.

Many have called this an anti-consumer move, but Rockstar has given players the option to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition anytime after buying GTA 6. With the physical copy of the game also shipping without a disc, the open-world title’s PR is definitely off to a rocky start.
Regardless of the controversy, fans are still willing to buy the pricey version of GTA 6, so Rockstar won’t have many complaints.
