- Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will ship without a disc in the box.
- The physical version will only contain a code that can be redeemed on your consoles.
- This is likely to avoid leaks at launch, which have happened multiple times before.
Rockstar Games has finally let loose some major details about GTA 6, ahead of the pre-orders opening tomorrow, June 25. These include details about the pricing, multiple editions, and something that will be a bit of a letdown.
A press release has confirmed the new $80 price tag for GTA 6. Additionally, its physical copies will unfortunately not ship with a disc; instead, you’ll get a redeemable code, as we have seen with some other releases.
Why it matters: Including a code with the box beats the whole purpose of going for the physical. This is also bad news for collectors, and especially for people who prefer to buy used games or resell for newer ones.

In Rockstar’s latest press release (via IGN), the company confirmed that the GTA 6 physical copies will only ship with a code. There were already rumors that this would happen, and that we might get the disc later down the line.
This decision has likely been made to avoid leaks and spoilers. Discs are getting out in the wild before a game’s release has happened often times, and it makes sense that Rockstar Games wants to avoid this situation.

The company has further confirmed that those pre-ordering the title will be able to pre-load the title on November 12 to prepare for the eventual release. Moreover, bonuses for the premium versions have also been revealed.
