Insomniac is working on Marvel’s Wolverine as its second major superhero gaming franchise. First announced in 2021, this first-party PlayStation title is reportedly set to be shown off to the world very soon again, but recent reports have sparked some concern.
Marvel’s Wolverine lost its Creative Director to Xbox Game Studios’ Perfect Dark a few months ago, creating some doubts about potential turmoil within Insomniac. Fortunately, a reliable insider states that the game is still progressing smoothly.
Why it matters: Brian Horton, the Creative Director behind Insomniac’s next major project, seems to have left the team during the summer of 2024.
Discussing the news, reliable insider Jeff Grubb highlighted that Insomniac has plenty of experience with superhero games already. He argues that the studio has already done a great job with past releases like Spider-Man, giving it the necessary skills to tackle an IP like Wolverine.
Jeff Grubb also speculated that the Creative Director’s departure could have been caused by something as simple as the developer hoping to experiment with a different type of game.
Ultimately, he concludes that this departure should not be a major hurdle for the game.
