Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Launched To Just 2.5K Players on Steam

Coupled With Mixed Rating on Steam!

Story Highlight
  • Guerrilla Games Released Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster Yesterday
  • However, the game didn’t meet expectations and looks like a failure because it peaked at only a few thousand players on Steam
  • Sony needs to remaster games that are highly demanding, like Infamous, Bloodborne and others

While Horizon Zero Dawn was a success on PC, the latest entry, Horizon Forbidden West, was a mediocre release. Horizon Zero Dawn remastered has now been released, and it seems to have been bombed on Steam. The game launched to just over 2.5K players on the platform

Why it matters: This Suggests that the players are not interested in playing a remaster of a game that already looks fresh and does not age at all.

Guerrilla Games found immense success with Horizon Zero Dawn, which was one of the biggest launches on both PC and PlayStation. The studio wanted to recreate the game’s success by remastering and releasing it fresh.

However, the idea didn’t work out, as the game launched to only 2538 players on Steam. At the time of writing, it has 1348 players

Meanwhile, the game’s reviews on Steam are also not impressive as it has a mixed rating. One obvious complaint is that the original Horizon Zero Dawn didn’t need a remaster, as it still looks very graphically stunning.

Furthermore, Sony’s new PSN account requirements also spoiled the PC Port. Players are very frustrated about it, and the game also had a few performance issues, like crashes.

Nevertheless, Sony should focus on remastering the games fans demand, like Bloodborne and Infamous. What do you think of the remaster? Let us know in the comments or join the Tech4Gamers forums.
