Don't Expect More On Wolverine Anytime Soon!

Story Highlight
  • Insomniac Games plans to share more information on Marvel’s Wolverine when the time is right.
  • The team states that no information is available at the moment.
  • While last year’s leaks already revealed plenty of footage, the studio does not seem to be in any rush to share official information.

Marvel’s Wolverine was announced over three years ago, and while not much has been revealed about the title, plenty of footage leaked last year after Insomniac Games was hit with a ransomware attack.

Soon after the leaks, Insomniac Games said the rough phase would not impact the title’s development. Months later, it appears the developers are still not ready to share updates.

Why it matters: Many expected Insomniac Games to rush with a new reveal since various gameplay demos and trailers were leaked from internal files.

Recently, a fan asked Insomniac Games to share news regarding Marvel’s Wolverine. The developer replied to the fan, stating that more information would come eventually when the timing lines up.

The leaks made it clear that Marvel’s Wolverine is still very much a work in progress. While we expected a reveal at a PlayStation event sometime this year, Insomniac Games’ statement suggests that this may not be the case.

The game is also said to be targeting a 2026 release date, so the team is likely to take all the time it needs before sharing more updates. However, since various other projects are in development, the studio could share updates on other games.

Marvel’s Wolverine is set to offer multiple playable characters and around 15 hours of gameplay. The game could also bring back real-time battle damage, a feature that many fans appreciated from Activision’s Wolverine game.

Elsewhere, Insomniac Games is working on a standalone Venom project. The studio’s roadmap also confirms plans to expand into the greater X-Men universe eventually, making the team PlayStation’s go-to developer for all things comics and Marvel.
