007 First Light was a very interesting prospect since it was first announced, based on how inspired it felt from some of the other popular IPs like Uncharted, Hitman, of course, and more, and it has totally delivered on the expectations.
Reviews are finally out, and 007 First Light has scored an amazing 88 score on Metacritic. When the title was first revealed, many said it’s a Hitman reskin, but no, it’s a proper Bond game that excels in almost every department.
Why it matters: Huge expectations were riding on the game, considering it’s based on one of the most popular film IPs of all time. Despite that, IO Interactive has nailed it and delivered the title we all wanted.
The overall critical reception is very positive, and it has even received perfect scores from some media outlets. Here are some notable review scores:

So, it’s a solid showing from IOI’s Bond game. The reviews praise the studio for going all out and delivering a fresh new experience with a masterfully crafted world, engaging missions, and interesting characters.
It seems that technically, IO has done a great job too, as the reviews state there are hardly any issues, despite the recurring problems with most AAA releases. It uses the in-house Glacier Engine instead of Unreal Engine 5.
Anyhow, after Golden Eye, we finally have a modern-day game that can be called a Bond game done right. It has met expectations big time, and the audience reception is expected to be positive as well.
