Considering the game launched at the month’s end, these results are quite impressive. Competition like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Reload finished behind this fighting game, highlighting Bandai Namco’s success.

Quite surprisingly, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League finished in third place. Having launched to a disappointing number of players and poor impressions, this live-service looter shooter’s spot on the list has been a pleasant surprise.

Nonetheless, Tekken 8 has earned a well-deserved spot on the list. It also boasted better player counts than other fighting games on Steam, thanks to a focus on appealing to both legacy and new players.

Tekken 8 offers a slew of modes and features. The game launched with cross-play, rollback netcode, and extra modes like Tekken Ball. Furthermore, Bandai Namco introduced revolutionary features like Ghost Battle with this entry.

Despite this success, the fighting game has also been the subject of controversy recently.

Bandai Namco has confirmed the introduction of a cosmetic shop for Tekken 8, selling legacy costumes and avatar customization as microtransactions. However, fans have not been fond of the developer’s decision to add this shop after its release.

Still, Tekken 8 remains an incredibly fun fighting game with hours of content to explore. For hardcore players, the game has an incredibly high skill-ceiling, while casual players can engage themselves in the heaps of game modes already present in the title.
