The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi is an excellent mid-ranger and a great option for stepping onto the latest platform with your Ryzen 9000 CPU. It has a decent 14+2+1 DRPS design with 14x 80A SPS for the CPU, enough for even the AM5 big dogs. 5G LAN, WiFi 7, dual Gen 5 M.2 slots, PCIe 5.0 x16, and EZ-DIY are the highlights on the board. The lack of dual-sided thermal pads for the Gen 5 M.2 slot is a disappointment.

The MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE is the most expensive X870 chipset motherboard, costing $1099. For this, you get a top-notch VRM setup and impressive cooling, a premium-looking design, high-end build quality (courtesy of a 10-layered PCB), and great features. While we were thoroughly impressed by the board in all departments, we still think the price tag is too high.

You get the latest USB4 ports, dual PCIe 5.0 M.2, WiFi 7, and impressive memory support up to DDR5-8400 (OC). It’s a nice-looking board with enough RGB bling for most, but it comes at a staggering $499 price tag. While expensive, it’s competitive enough for the features on offer.
