Starfield Joins Steam Top 10 Best-Sellers One Month Before Release

Already Selling Well Despite Game Pass Release!

Starfield appears to be yet another great release in 2023. Following multiple delays to improve the game, Bethesda Game Studios is gearing up to bring the sci-fi RPG to audiences worldwide in September.

With one month left before release, anticipation for the game has reached new levels. This has also led to a surge in sales, and Starfield is already in the top 10 best-selling games on Steam.

Why it matters:  The game is likely to be the biggest Xbox launch this year, and Microsoft also expects to see record-breaking revenue in the next quarter after the release of Starfield.

As seen above, Starfield is currently found at the 7th spot on Steam’s best-selling games.

Unsurprisingly, Baldur’s Gate 3 is leading the sales charts. The game is set to be released later today, and Larian Studios has built up plenty of excitement for the massive RPG.

Nonetheless, Starfield is doing well. With the title hitting Game Pass at release, many had expected Bethesda Game Studios’ latest RPG to perform below previous releases. However, Steam’s current list implies otherwise.

Starfield is already ahead of anticipated games like Armored Core 6 and Payday 3. The former is releasing later this month but has not been able to make it to the top 10 list yet.

It should also be noted that this list does not include free-to-play games. Therefore, it excludes popular titles like CS:GO and Apex Legends.

Bethesda Game Studios has already established a large fanbase on the PC market compared to other Xbox games. This has likely encouraged fans to purchase the game on Steam instead of relying on the Game Pass subscription.

Games like Skyrim have been kept alive by a dedicated modding community. One recent mod highlights path tracing for The Elder Scrolls 5, and fans can expect similar community creations for Starfield.
