Xbox Expects Record Breaking Revenue in Q1 FY24 After Starfield Launch

Expected To Make 5% More Than Previous Record!

Starfield is one of the biggest games that fans are anticipating in 2023. With just over a month before release, the hype for Bethesda’s latest RPG is at an all-time high.

Microsoft is going all out with the game, and the company appears quite confident in the title. According to Microsoft’s earnings forecasts, it expects Xbox to deliver record-breaking revenue in Q1 FY24 after the launch of Starfield.

Therefore, Microsoft aims to start a new fiscal year with record-breaking earnings.

Why it matters: Starfield has been built up as the biggest and most significant Xbox first-party title for several years, and the gaming giant’s report reflects Starfield’s importance.

According to the report,  Microsoft is aiming for 5% more revenue than the earnings in Q1 FY23. Fans should note the gaming giant made $3.610 billion in revenue in Q1 FY23, making it the best first quarter in Xbox history.

As seen above, Microsoft’s target is estimated to result in $3.791 billion in revenue. Therefore, the company expects Starfield to achieve another record-breaking quarter after last year.

Previously, Microsoft predicted Starfield could potentially sell over 10 million units on PS5. Following the decision to make the game an exclusive title, the gaming giant likely expects similar numbers on Xbox.

Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass subscriptions will likely see a massive surge in September. The recent earnings report has already shown an increase of 5% in content and services revenue, and the subscription service is expected to grow further in the coming months.

While Microsoft has set a high target, it would not be far-fetched for the gaming giant to miss the goal. Previously, Microsoft also missed the subscriber target for Game Pass by 10 million users.

Still, the anticipation around Starfield could ensure this does not happen again. Following the recent gameplay showcase, Xbox and Microsoft appear more confident than ever, aiming to achieve new highs in the coming months.
