Three years after the release of Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games is currently working on the third mainline entry in the series. Following the release of Marvel’s Wolverine, the team will likely accelerate development efforts on the title.
Nobody knows quite yet what Spider-Man 3 has in store for the fans, but actor Yuri Lowenthal hopes to see Deadpool play a role in the title.
Why it matters: Deadpool and Spider-Man have often interacted in the comics, and they share a unique dynamic due to their comedic yet tragic writing.
Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of Spider-Man in the Insomniac Games titles, is currently pushing for Deadpool to be included in the trilogy finale.
Over on Instagram, the voice actor noted that he would want Deadpool in Spider-Man 3 even more than Wolverine. Yuri Lowenthal also said that he is trying to convince director Brian Horton to bring Deadpool over to the Insomniac Games universe.
There’s one character that I would opt for even more strongly than Wolverine, and it would be Deadpool.
It should be noted that this would not be the first time Deadpool would show up in a Spider-Man title if Yuri Lowenthal’s wish were to come true. The character was previously featured in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions as a boss battle, where his back and forth with Spider-Man was on full display.
Of course, this crossover would prove a bit challenging, since Insomniac Games does not currently have a dedicated Deadpool game to its name. Still, it seems Yuri Lowenthal has no intention of giving up on this dream crossover.
