Following the success of Space Marine 2, Focus Entertainment is currently working on Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3.
Although not much is known about this game as of yet, recent AI-related controversies related to developer Saber Interactive have many concerned about the game. Fortunately, the team plans to make Space Marine 3 without AI use.
Why it matters: Many studios are now falling back on generative AI, but fans are still not sold on the technology and its larger use across games.

Saber Interactive has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 is being made without generative AI, according to IGN.
The clarification comes after some fans questioned whether the studio’s interest in AI tools could affect its upcoming Warhammer 40K sequel. This concern stemmed from Rideshare Simulator, a project built around generative AI systems.
However, as far as Space Marine 3 is concerned, the studio does not plan on using the technology.
There is absolutely no generative AI in Space Marine 3. But like we said, we’re going to experiment with it. Try it out in Rideshare.
-Saber Development Chief Tim WIllits

For those unaware, Saber Interactive recently became controversial for replacing Rideshare Simulator writer Stella Sacco with generative AI and doubling down on its stance.
According to the studio’s CEO, the team is focused on how it can improve game development using the technology instead of replacing humans. Of course, this doesn’t make the controversy any less problematic, but fans can rest assured that Space Marine 3 will not be impacted by generative AI.
