Architectural Details
- Process Size: RTX 3050 was launched with an 8 nm processing node. One year later, AMD dropped the 7600 with their newer 6 nm processing node.
- Clock Speed: At the base clock, the 7600 runs at 1720 MHz, whereas the 3050 runs at 1545 MHz. The boosted speed you get on 7600 is around 2655 MHz. Compared to that, the 3050 goes up to a maximum of 1740 MHz.
- VRAM: The 7600 boasts twice the VRAM of its competitor at 8 GB GDDR6 compared to only 4 GB GDDR6. It is also a bit faster at 288.0 GB/s, whereas the one of 3050 is at 224 GB/s.
- TDP: The RTX 3050 has a 58.8% smaller TDP at around 90 watts. The TDP on the RX 7600 is much bigger at 165 watts.
- Supported Technologies: The RX 7600 has to rely on AMD’s FSR. The RTX 3050 has the best of both worlds. It has both AMD’s FSR and Nvidia’s DLSS.
AMD just extended its RDNA 3.0 lineup with a new inclusion of the RX 7600 in it. But how does it differ in performance compared to Nvidia’s previous offering in the budget segment, the RTX 3050? Keep reading to find out as I get both these GPUs to go up against each other in a series of gaming benchmarks to help you decide which is better for your rig.

Cyberpunk 2077
- The RX 7600 crushed the RTX 3050 at Cyberpunk 2077. It ran the game at 87 fps, whereas the RTX 3050 maxed out at 50 fps.
- As per my observation, the 1% lows had the bigger difference. The 7600 provided 67 1% low fps, whereas the 3050 could not go beyond 35 fps.
Forza Horizon 5
- The F1 2022, as per my readings, ran 53% better on the RX 7600. It provided 117 fps. Compared to that, the RTX 3050 is capped at 68 fps.
- The thrashing continues at 1% lows as well. This time, the RX 7600 provided 95 fps. Contrary to that, the RTX 3050 provided 55 fps.
The Last Of Us
- The Last of us definitely seem to prefer the RX 7600 over the RTX 3050. The evidence of that is, that the RX 7600 provided 80 fps in it, whereas the RTX 3050 provided 52.
- The same trend continues in the 1% lows as well where the RX 7600 provides 67 fps, whereas the RTX 3050 provides 40.
Far Cry 6
- The Far Cry 6 ended up seeing one of the biggest differences in favor of the RX 7600, as it was now 60% ahead of the RTX 3050. It provided 133 fps in the title, whereas the latter provided 72 fps.
- 1% lows made the situation worse for the RTX 3050, as it is now miles behind the RX 7600. It provided merely 58 fps in that aspect. Compared to that, the 7600 provided 108 fps.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla wasn’t any more merciful of the 3050 than the previous titles, as it ran 50% better on the RX 7600. It provided 115 fps on average, whereas the RTX 3050 provided 69.
- 1% lows closed the gap to some extent, but the 7600 was still ahead. It provided 74 1% low fps. Compared to that, the 3050 provided 53 fps.
Red Dead Redemption 2
- Red Dead Redemption 2, my final benchmark for today, also ran better on the RX 7600. It provided 75 fps in it. The RTX 3050, at the same time, provided 45 fps.
- The 1% lows were also largely in favor of the RX 7600. The average 1% lows provided by the RX 7600 were 62 fps. In the meanwhile, the RTX 3050 provided 38 fps.
Overall Gaming Performance
Featured | RX 7600 | RTX 3050 |
---|---|---|
Average FPS | 101.28 📈 | 59.85 📈 |
1% lows | 81 📉 | 48.14 📉 |
Winner: AMD's RX 7600 |
As per my observation, the RX 7600, on average, performed 51% better than the RTX 3050 when it comes to the average fps. The same was the case when it came to the 1% lows. The observed difference turned out to be 50.8% in favour of RX 7600.
Despite being more expensive, my recommendation still lies with the RX 7600. The reason for that is, it provides much more value for the price it’s being sold at. The performance difference is too significant to ignore.

Despite the heftier price tag, the numbers speak in favor of RX 7600. It is 30% more expensive than the RTX 3050 at launch price, but the performance upgrade you get is so worth it. It performs roughly 51% better on average than the RTX 3050, according to my testing.
Radeon RX 7600 Vs Geforce RTX 3050: Which One Would I Recommend?
RX 7600: In my testing, it performed roughly 51% better on average, and each game just felt much more enjoyable to play on the RX 7600. However, this performance comes at a cost. You will have to spend roughly 30% more in order to get this, and this does not end here. To keep this beast well-fed, you will also need a bigger power supply, as it consumes 48% more power. But at the end of the day, it is worth it, in my opinion, because the numbers don’t lie. The performance difference is too good to be ignored.
RTX 3050: On the other hand, the RTX 3050 is also a capable GPU if you are looking for a decent 60 fps experience and don’t want to spend more. According to my testing, it should run the majority of games at acceptable frames as long as you are willing to turn down some of the settings. It also runs slightly cooler than the RX 7600 while also getting by on a smaller power supply. Lastly, you can always use performance-enhancing techniques like DLSS and FSR to get more fps.
Radeon RX 7600 and Geforce RTX 3050 are two very capable GPUs in their respective categories. Which one I would recommend would come down mainly to your use case and budget. Out of the two, the RX 7600 would be my recommendation. In a head-on fight, it obliterates the RTX 3050. Its raw performance is too much for the RTX 3050 to handle.
