  • It seems like the studio is gearing up to announce yet another God of War title.
  • As per an influencer who visited the studio recently, the next project will be announced very soon.

Santa Monica is behind the legendary God of War franchise. However, it hasn’t focused on other titles except those related to this IP for a long time. While another God of War is almost confirmed, the studio could also be working on a new project.

A new game from the studio is expected to be revealed very soon now. Fans are hopeful that they will see more of this project during the upcoming State of Play, which is also expected to feature the PS5 Pro.

Why it matters: Santa Monica is one of the PlayStation developers that rarely disappoints, so fans are excited to see what the team has been up to.

How AMD’s RDNA 4 Architecture Could Redefine GPU Performance

Story Highlight
  • AMD’s RDNA 4-based GPUs, set to launch next year, are expected to feature Navi 48 and Navi 44 chips with clock speeds between 3GHz and 3.5GHz.
  • AMD should focus on mid-range GPUs rather than competing with NVIDIA’s high-end models, offering strong performance at lower prices.
  • Enhancements in FSR, competitive ray tracing performance, and better power efficiency are crucial for AMD’s success with RDNA 4 GPUs.

If you are a PC gamer, new processors, motherboards, and new memory technologies are cool, but ultimately, the graphics card is the king of the hill. There’s just something so cool about the hype and announcements surrounding the graphics cards, whether it’s the performance improvements, new technologies, improvements to ray tracing, and all of the other stuff.

I have great news for AMD GPU users: According to inevitable leaks, AMD will launch its RDNA 4-based GPUs next year. Will RDNA 4 architecture be able to boost AMD’s GPU performances to the levels of NVIDIA’s RTX 4080 or even RTX 4090? Let’s talk about it.

The Leaked Specs: A Promising Peek

AMD’s upcoming RX 8000 series GPUs will be based on RDNA 4 architecture. This is an improvement over the current RDNA 3 architecture used in the RX 7000 series and AMD SoCs. These GPUs will be tentatively based on TSMC’s N4P process node.

For now, rumors state that there will be only two chips, a Navi 48 and a Navi 44. These chips will have clock speeds ranging from 3GHz to 3.5GHz. They will feature GDDR 6 memory, unlike the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 50 series, which will fully adopt the latest GDDR 7 memory with a maximum capacity of 16GB.

The latest rumor has been shared by @Kepler_L2, who has revealed the patches for AMD’s upcoming RDNA 4 GPUs and its RT (Ray Tracing) engine. Right now, AMD GPUs can process ray tracing, but they do it entirely differently from NVIDIA or even INTEL. They don’t have a separate block process ray tracing. Their ray tracing shaders are only a particular portion of their regular cores. Will RDNA 4 be able to change this trend? Only time will tell.

AMD vs NVIDIA

Will AMD be able to compete with NVIDIA with the launch of RDNA 4? I don’t think so in terms of high-end GPUs. According to Youtuber Moore’s Law Is Dead, AMD will not feature any high-end GPUs in its RDNA 4 architecture, which is a good sign. They should play in the mid-range as they have before with their Polaris series.

Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Radeon RX 7900 XTX

At this point, NVIDIA doesn’t really care much about its gaming sector. It has transferred from a complete gaming company to a full-fledged AI company, and it is making massive revenue out of it. That is why I believe it will not really give as much thought to its mid-range GPUs as it will to its higher-end GPUs.

If NVIDIA launches a GPU that is, let’s say, 2x more potent than RTX 4090, everyone will buy it. They can price it whatever they want, and still, people will buy it because they know they cannot get better performance from any other higher-end GPU.

My Take On How AMD Could Improve

Obviously, when I talk about playing in the mid-range market, they also need to make a few improvements. FSR improvement should be one of AMD’s key targets in RDNA 4. AMD also needs to have a competitive ray tracing performance in their GPUs. Yes, rasterization is good, but whether you love it or hate it, Ray tracing will be the gaming industry’s future.

If we look at AMD GPUs, I think the 7800 XT is one of their best-ever GPUs, even if we compare it to NVIDIA and INTEL GPUs. It offers you excellent performance value for money, but the problem with that GPU is that it is power-hungry compared to its competitors. This has been a problem with AMD’s high-end GPUs. AMD’s RDNA 4 can be their redemption arc in this aspect.

A New Era Of GPU Performance?

AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture promises to redefine GPU performance across the board. If AMD delivers on the leaked specs, we could witness a significant shake-up in the GPU market. This competition would ultimately benefit consumers.

At the end of the day, we have to wait and see whether RDNA 4 will offer more performance with a lower price tag than RDNA 3. I am really hopeful that RDNA 4 will revive AMD’s GPUs and bring the best out of them.

PlayStation Reportedly Confident About Fairgame$ Despite Concord Failure

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation is working on a live-service heist title, which is being developed by Haven Studios.
  • There are concerns about the project after Concord’s failure, but Sony seems confident from internal conversations.
  • Similar reports showed up about Redfall since internal reviews anticipated a much higher score for the game.

While PlayStation delivered successful titles like Helldivers 2 earlier this year, its latest project, Concord, was a terrible failure and led to concern for the gaming giant. PlayStation has now pulled the game from stores and refunded the buyers.

However, PlayStation is still working on a project similar to Concord, a third-person shooter live service title. Fairgame$ from Haven Studios is based on a heist theme, and reports state that initial impressions of the title are quite positive.

Why it matters: Following Concord’s failure, there is further pressure on Fairgame$ since PlayStation would not want to repeat another failure.

Fairgame$ is being led by Jade Raymond’s Haven Studios and was revealed during PlayStation’s major showcase last year.

Not much has been said about the game since then, but Gamesindustry’s Chris Dring recently commented on Sony’s internal impressions of the title. He acknowledged the doubts about this title but had good news to share.

I have heard chatters very positive about it.

-Chris Dring

What’s interesting is that Fairgame$ is already looking more promising than Concord. Unlike Concord, it belongs to the heist genre. This genre barely has any competition right now, and Payday 3 has not been the biggest success either.

As such, Fairgame$ already has greater chances of success. The trailer was not the most exciting, but PlayStation can certainly do a lot with this title.

However, it is worth noting that Sony may have been similarly confident about Concord. Microsoft also anticipated a much better reception for Redfall, so internal reception is not always the most accurate point of reference.

Anyhow, it’s still too early to say whether this live service project will be a huge success. Elsewhere, PlayStation is working on the likes of Marathon, the Horizon MMO, Bend Studio’s live service game, and more for future live service endeavors.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Dev Aims To Raise Bar For RPGs Again With Next Game

Story Highlights
  • Larian Studios’ CEO has stated that they want to raise the bar even higher with their next game.
  • The studio isn’t letting Baldur’s Gate 3’s success get to their heads and wants to achieve even more.
  • Vincke revealed a few months back that the work on their next game was nearly ready to begin.

Larian Studios outdid themselves with Baldur’s Gate 3, and that showed with all the awards that the game won. However, the developer isn’t settling, and they want their next project to raise the bar for the RPG genre further.

Why it matters: The studio is wrapping up the development of Baldur’s Gate 3 since they have decided not to work on any DLCs or additional content.

Baldur's Gate 3
Larian wants to raise the bar even higher with their next game.

Back in July, CEO Swen Vincke revealed that the work on their next game was set to begin soon. The team is in high spirits and is looking forward to the new journey. Talking to IGN, he commented further about their next project.

The quality bar was set high by BG3, so we are wrapping our heads around how to raise it even higher.

– Swen Vincke

Because Baldur’s Gate 3 was so big, the expectations from the team are now higher than ever. However, the studio is focused on doing its best and wants to see the previous success reflected in the next project.

Vincke explained that the scope of Baldur’s Gate 3 was something very new for the team. Because of this, some mistakes were made during development. However, now that they’ve learned from those mistakes, they don’t want to repeat the errors.

Baldur's Gate 3
The work on their next project is set to start soon.

Baldur’s Gate 3 set many new records in the gaming industry. It is the only game that has won the Game Of The Year award at every major event. Therefore, the bar has been set very high, and Larian wants to make sure it sets a new bar.

We know for sure that the developer’s next project isn’t Baldur’s Gate 4.

They also revealed they want to work on an ultimate RPG, but that isn’t possible before the PS6. Therefore, with all the excitement around these projects, it’ll be very interesting to see what Larian comes up with next.

Black Myth: Wukong Delay Not Caused By Hardware Issues, Reiterates Xbox

Story Highlight
  • Microsoft has once again alluded to PlayStation exclusivity for Black Myth: Wukong.
  • A spokesperson also says that Microsoft is unaware of hardware issues preventing the title from arriving on Xbox.
  • The situation now demands an official response from PlayStation or Game Science.

Black Myth: Wukong has now become a huge part of gaming in 2024. Unfortunately, the joys of this action RPG are currently limited to those on the PC and PlayStation platforms.

After an initial delay on Xbox, it was hinted that Game Science signed an exclusivity agreement with PlayStation. While the studio has yet to confirm such an agreement, recent reports provided further evidence that a deal was indeed signed.

Xbox has returned with another interesting statement, adding to the confusion surrounding this situation.

Why it matters: Many have blamed the Xbox Series S for the delay. This console has also received criticism from other developers in the past.

Black Myth: Wukong
Xbox Statement via Journalist Paul Tassi

Replying to Forbes’ Paul Tassi, a Microsoft spokesperson, has made a similar comment as past responses on Game Science’s latest release. However, the latest comment also discusses Xbox hardware, seemingly dispelling reports that the Xbox Series S caused the delay.

The delay is not due to Xbox platform limitations that have been raised to us.

-Microsoft

What’s interesting here is that recent reports pointed to a memory leak problem with Black Myth: Wukong. On the other hand, analysts concluded that nothing inherent about the Xbox Series S|X should be a problem for Game Science.

As such, Microsoft’s statement seems to have merit. However, the statement could also mean that the studio has yet to seek help, even if it has encountered major optimization hurdles.

Black Myth: Wukong
Nobody Knows When Black Myth: Wukong Will Arrive On Xbox

Like before, the spokesperson stated that Microsoft is unable to comment on exclusivity deals from rival platforms.

The Black Myth: Wukong situation is becoming more interesting by the day. At this rate, a comment from PlayStation or Game Science is inevitable since nobody else can offer a definitive statement.

Game Science Official FAQ Seemingly Confirms Black Myth: Wukong DLCs

Story Highlight
  • Game Science has hinted at future DLCs for Black Myth: Wukong on the game’s official pre-order page.
  • There might be two major expansions featuring iconic characters from Chinese mythology.
  • Datamined names like Black Myth: Zhong Kui and Black Myth: Jiang Ziya hint at a series of games set in the same mythological world.

Game Science has seemingly hinted at possible future DLCs for Black Myth: Wukong. We noticed the game’s official pre-order FAQ mentioned that Black Myth: Wukong will use a “one-time purchase model” and could include future DLCs, along with in-game purchases that won’t affect gameplay balance.

Although not a direct confirmation, this statement essentially points to the fact that more content for the game is coming.

Why it matters: According to reports, Black Myth: Wukong originally featured 13 chapters instead of 6, but they were cut off due to budget constraints. However, now that the studio has more budget, this cut content could be revisited in future DLCs.

The game’s official FAQ answer, which encouraged users to take screenshots as a “guarantee,” suggests that Game Science is seriously planning to release more content. This matches earlier rumors that the studio has big plans for the Black Myth series.

In the future, we may release DLCs.

It’s reported the title might get two major expansions, potentially featuring characters like the Bull King, Jade Emperor, and Buddha. Looking at the FAQ and recent leaks, it seems all but given that more content is being planned.

Moreover, there are signs that Game Science might expand Black Myth into a larger franchise. The studio seems to be planning sequels or spin-offs based on different parts of Chinese mythology.

Game Science has even reserved names like Black Myth: Zhong Kui and Black Myth: Jiang Ziya, hinting at a series of titles set in the same mythological world. This approach is similar to how other successful franchises explore different aspects of the same universe.

Black Myth: Wukong
The game is a strong contender for the GOTY award this year.

The action RPG has been a success for Game Science, as it sold 10 million copies within three days of release. Following its success, the studio is seemingly ready to deliver more content, this time with extra budget.

Although the details of the DLCs are not yet confirmed, there are some promising signs. Recent statements from the studio and previous leaks suggest that Game Science has solid plans to support the action RPG after its release.

Black Myth: Wukong’s Yellowbrow Is The Worst Boss Ever

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong has a lot of great bosses, but some are really worthless.
  • Yellowbrow, in particular, is the worst boss in the game, as he is super annoying.
  • The boss isn’t difficult to beat, but he relies too much on gimmicks that waste a lot of time.

Black Myth: Wukong has over 90 bosses and features linear exploration. While many say the game doesn’t consist of exploration, there are plenty of diverging paths. You can literally spend hours exploring, and that is exactly how you will find the secret bosses.

The game differs from your average Soulslike and is more like an action RPG. So, most bosses are pretty easy and beatable on the first try. However, some bosses are rather annoying and gimmicky than difficult.

Yellowbrow stands out as the pinnacle of such bosses, making him the worst enemy to fight in-game.

Why it matters: Most bosses in Black Myth: Wukong are well-designed. This makes it even more problematic when a poorly designed battle shows up since it stands out in stark contrast to the rest of the experience.

The Extra Annoying Gold Phase

Yellowbrow Gold Phase
Yellowbrow’s Gold Phase is Extremely Annoying

As soon as the last fight starts with Yellowbrow, you will be given an opportunity to attack him. However, after just finishing one light combo, he will turn into gold and follow up with an attack that has a pretty unforgiving dodge timing. That attack can be strafed too.

So, now, whatever you do, you can’t damage the boss. You can force him out of the gold phase, but that isn’t easy either. Charge attacks and Cloud Step can help, but again, if you don’t rely on these options, you will find yourself running from the boss for a long time.

After some time has passed, Yellowbrow will cause an explosion covering the majority of the arena. After that, the gold phase will end, and no, he won’t just do it once. Running around the arena dodging the attacks while not attacking yourself and waiting for an opportunity to force him out of that phase is just poor design, in my opinion.

The boss relies too much on gimmicks to be powerful, and that is not enjoyable. You can use certain items to make the fight easier, but you shouldn’t need items to beat a boss. While that sounds okay on paper, it happens way too much in this game. Also, if you immobilize Yellowbrow, he will turn into gold instantly.

Using A Pluck of Many can also backfire since he can turn them against you. So, the overall boss is pretty annoying, but this isn’t where the problems end.

Taking Damage During A Cutscene

yellowbrow boss
Yellowbrow Is The Worst Designed Boss In Black Myth: Wukong

I was quite happy after overcoming the gold phase. However, as soon as the boss started transitioning into his second phase, I instantly dodged, but he still caught me. Then a cutscene triggered with him beating the destined one, and all of that damage actually registered.

So, there goes one healing attempt. This doesn’t happen once but twice. I don’t even think it can be dodged, as I have tried it multiple times. Perhaps it can be dodged via the Cloud Step, but it is quite shocking that you take damage during a cutscene.

I was frustrated during this fight because there were just too many gimmicks. It didn’t take me a lot of tries, but still, I hate boss fights that are not fun.

The Third Phase Will Make You Even Angrier

Yellow brow – need help
byu/NAS0824 inBlackMythWukong

As soon as Yellowbrow enters the third phase, he will start a flurry of attacks covering half of the arena. Dodging this move is extremely hard since his swings will leave a trail behind that would do a lot of damage, and before you know it, another swing is coming.

I did manage to dodge it a couple of times perfectly, but it is way better to use a transformation spirit for more i-frames. Even after such an attack, there isn’t an obvious opening for you to attack.

Not to mention, this boss talks a lot. Every now and then, he would start saying sentences in a very annoying voice. Everything about the enemy makes me angry, and I don’t think I’ll be changing my opinion anytime soon.

After I finally beat his arrogance out of him, Yellowbrow ran away like a coward. Who would’ve thought? In my opinion, this is the perfect example of a poorly designed boss. While the developers did an excellent job with nearly everything, this battle was not an example of Game Science’s talents.

Star Wars Outlaws Failure Plummets Ubisoft’s Stock Price To 10-Year Low

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft’s market cap went down the €2 billion mark.
  • Investors are unhappy with the performance of Star Wars Outlaws.
  • The company’s market cap is almost at a ten-year low right now, and shares have lost 10% of their value.

A Star Wars media product is almost always destined to be a success no matter which medium we are talking about. So, when Ubisoft announced their open-world title set in the universe, many thought it would be a surefire hit.

However, early sales forecasts were far from encouraging, and it seems like investors at Ubisoft are not happy with how Star Wars Outlaws is performing commercially, leading to a dip in the company’s market value.

Why it matters: Ubisoft has once again released an underwhelming game, continuing a worrying trend starting to negatively affect one of gaming’s biggest names financially.

Star Wars Outlaws
Ubisoft Market Cap Has Sunk Following The Underwhelming Release Of Star Wars Outlaws

As revealed by Serkan Toto on X, Ubisoft shares lost over 10% of their combined value in the last two days, bringing the company’s overall market cap to just under €2 billion.

This value is almost the lowest Ubisoft’s market cap has been for the past ten years, and Star Wars Outlaws’s sales performance is definitely a reason for this degrading record. No official statement about the open-world title’s performance has yet come out, but early statistics reveal it’s not doing too well.

According to Christopher Dring on X, the physical sales of the latest Star Wars entry are 55% lower than the sales of the EA hit Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Therefore, if this early statistic is any indication, Outlaws isn’t going to put up the same numbers Survivor did last year, and it’s not hard to see why Ubisoft investors are unhappy.

Star Wars Outlaws
Main Character Kay Vess Failed To Impress Fans

Overall, Star Wars Outlaws has received positive reviews from critics. But, with the most common critique being the lack of new ideas, it makes sense why fans don’t want to play another basic Ubisoft adventure with a Star Wars label.

Fan reception has also been less warm, with the OpenCritic score being a mild 69%.

Ubisoft still has another big hitter lined up this year: Assassin’s Creed Shadows. And, for the sake of the publisher, we hope that the Yasuke-led adventure can be something fans can rally behind.

Bethesda Proud of Starfield; Says It Was A Great Release

Story Highlights
  • Starfield’s creative producer says that Bethesda is proud of their latest RPG.
  • They listen to the fan feedback, actively work on it, and will support the game for a long time.
  • Starfield is set to get its first DLC later this year, which is called Shattered Space.

Bethesda Game Studios launched Starfield a year ago, a title with untapped potential. While it didn’t sit well with fans, the studio says it is proud of the RPG and thinks it was a great release.

Why it matters: Xbox marketed Starfield as their next big exclusive, one that would bring them back into the industry. Though it did have a good launch and initially received some good comments, things quickly changed.

Starfield
Bethesda says that their team is proud of the Starfield launch.

Talking to The Gamer, Starfield Lead Creative Producer Tim Lamb said that the studio is proud of what they launched. However, he is also aware that the general sentiment of the community isn’t all positive.

We were really proud of Starfield. It’s been a great release for us. We listen to the community, we hear the feedback.

– Tim Lamb

He commented that they want to support Starfield for a very long time. The studio realizes the RPG’s shortcomings and will continue introducing new content that improves upon these drawbacks.

Starfield
Starfield didn’t resonate well with the fans despite its potential.

There is no doubt that Starfield is now a much better RPG. Among other things, it recently received a patch that enabled 60FPS for the Xbox Series X, which was one of the biggest drawbacks at launch.

In addition, the RPG finally received land vehicles, and Bethesda is set to launch the first DLC soon.

However, there are still plenty of things wrong with the game. With more updates, it might eventually become a much better experience, but this will take a lot of time. Fortunately, Bethesda is willing to stick with the title.

PlayStation Now Lacks Purpose Due To PC Ports, Says Analyst

Story Highlight
  • An analyst has deemed PlayStation as a business without a proper purpose.
  • He argues that Sony’s PC ports have taken away from the focus on consoles, and the gaming giant has yet to commit to one approach.
  • The analyst is also concerned about the PS5 potentially selling fewer units than the PS4.

September has not been kind to PlayStation. Despite high hopes for Concord, the hero shooter was lambasted after launch and quickly became a massive failure. The game will be shut down in just a few days.

Following the aftermath, a Japanese analyst has discussed Sony’s current gaming strategy. The gaming giant seems to be in a tough spot, and the analyst believes that its troubles are due to a lack of purpose today.

Why it matters: PlayStation seems to be doing quite well for the time being. However, it doesn’t take long to see that the gaming giant is not in the best position, particularly with the declining PS5 sales.

Sony PlayStation 5
Sony Has Not Been Able To Offer Price Cuts For The PS5

Analyst Hideki Yasuda recently shared his opinion on PlayStation, stating that Sony’s business is currently struggling.

In particular, he pointed to the slower-than-anticipated hardware sales when compared to the PS4. The analyst pulled no punches, stating that PlayStation’s strategy of releasing games on PC is counterintuitive.

As a result of Sony’s decision to release games for PCs, the purpose of their gaming business is now unclear.

The analyst states that Sony was unable to come up with an explanation for the timing of Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima’s PC release. While both turned out to be huge hits on Steam, it seems this was not an intentional move from the gaming giant.

PS4 Controller
The PS4 Was A Huge Success For Sony

Hideki Yasuda argues that an unclear vision is worse than a declining business. He is also concerned that the PS5 might end up falling short of its predecessor’s total sales figures despite the expectations.

The analyst’s opinion seems true to an extent, but PlayStation’s vision is to turn the business into an all-encompassing ecosystem.

Much like Microsoft, Sony does not want to focus on consoles alone. However, the gaming giant has yet to fully commit to PC gaming. According to the analyst, this is a big problem.

Fans Believe PS5 Pro Will Be Better Buy Than PC

Story Highlight
  • The PS5 Pro is reportedly launching later this year.
  • With a solid idea of the target specifications, fans are arguing that the console will provide better value than a PC.
  • They believe an equivalent PC will cost twice as much to build.

The PS5 Pro launch is closer than ever, as recent reports suggest that an official announcement will be made this month, and the console will be launched before the end of the year.

Following the leaked specs and price of the console, many fans seem to agree that the PS5 Pro is a better purchase than the PC at the moment, as a similarly specced PC would cost twice as much.

Why it matters: The console vs. PC debate is nothing new. As always, this question has come up again with the impending release of Sony’s new hardware.

PlayStation PS5 Pro
The PS5 Pro Is Likely To Be Released Before The End of Year

Recently, it was reported that the PS5 Pro would cost $600-700 and come with features like PSSR upscaling, which will help it target 4K gaming, making it a worthy upgrade over the base model.

The console’s GPU is said to be similar to a Radeon RX 7700 XT, which costs $400. A fan recently shared the specs of a PC equivalent to the PS5 Pro. The list shows a 7700 XT GPU that costs around $400, and other things like RAM, storage, PSU, and more.

The total price came out to about $1,368, which is almost double the cost of the PS5 Pro. Therefore, fans conclude that the console is a much better value for money than buying a PC. However, the PC was better in certain departments, like the newer Ryzen 5000 CPU.

Not too long ago, Mark Cerny replied to one video about people trying to build a PC similar to the PS5. He noted that such videos often rely on used hardware and that purchasing a new console is not the same thing.

if you’re using used parts… well, you can get a used PlayStation 5 for eBay for $300-something.

-Mark Cerny

Recent reports have also suggested that the PS5 Pro will run Unreal Engine 5 much better than the base model.

PS5 Pro
PS5 Pro Will Be A Worthy Upgrade Over The Base Model

Many still believe the PC is a better option since it has more use cases than a console. Ultimately, it all comes down to player preference and choice. While a PC is usually more expensive upfront, it lacks additional costs like subscriptions for online gaming.

The PS5 Pro still seems like a great deal, especially if it ends up priced at $600. While rumors point to a price as high as $700, Sony has yet to issue an official statement.

Concord Shutting Down 2 Weeks After Launch; PlayStation Offering Refunds

Story Highlight
  • Deemed as PlayStation’s next big title, Concord fell extremely short of expectations.
  • As a result, PlayStation has decided to shut down the title soon.
  • The game will go offline on September 6, and those who bought the game would get a refund.
  • This is extremely poor from a PlayStation title, however, we hope such instances do not repeat in the future.

Concord was intended to be PlayStation’s next major hit following the positive reception of Helldivers 2. However, it quickly became one of their most poorly received games.

As a result, PlayStation has acknowledged the game’s failure and decided to shut down the title just two weeks after its release.

Why it matters: The failure of Concord highlights that even industry giants like PlayStation can experience significant missteps, sometimes to the extent of abandoning a title entirely.

Concord-Feat
Analyst Believes Concord Has Sold Less Than 25k Units On Steam & PS5

PlayStation made the announcement in a blog, stating that Concord will be taken offline on September 6, 2024, with game sales stopping immediately.

Refunds will be issued to those who purchased the game on Steam and Epic Games. For physical copies bought from retailers, customers are advised to follow the retailer’s refund policy.

In the blog post, the Concord team expressed gratitude for the support and community that formed around the game. While some aspects received positive feedback, they acknowledged that other elements and the overall launch fell short of expectations.

Concord
Concord Developers Call Haters Talentless Freaks

The game’s shutdown just two weeks after release indicates that PlayStation had little confidence in the title’s potential for post-launch recovery.

While this is sad to see that the gaming industry has to go through such challenging times, we hope that PlayStation and the developers behind Concord can bounce back from this failure, and make it serve as a teaching for them.
