Xbox has officially released the first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
This entry serves as the direct follow-up to Black Ops 2, showing characters like Menendez and David Mason in the trailer.
Fans can expect more gameplay details at Gamescom in August.
Xbox had more than a few exciting reveals at its latest showcase. The gaming giant shared a release date for Ninja Gaiden, revealed its first handheld, and confirmed DLC for Indiana Jones.
However, the excitement did not end there. Toward the end of the show, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer came on stage and officially unveiled the next big entry in the Call of Duty IP. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been officially announced, and it arrives later this year.
Why it matters: Although a new Call of Duty entry is expected each year, this year’s entry had fans more excited than usual because rumors suggested a return to the Black Ops 2 era in over a decade.
Black Ops 7 shows the first futuristic take on the series in nearly a decade, marking the first title to take the series in a somewhat sci-fi direction since 2018’s Black Ops 4.
Although the game is expected to be somewhat grounded in its portrayal of the future, the setting shows Cyberpunk-like elements, retaining the classic futuristic theme of Black Ops 2.
The trailer also shows series lead David Mason returning for the first time in over a decade. David Mason, the son of Black Ops protagonist Alex Mason, played a critical role in the Black Ops 2 campaign alongside another popular character who has been featured in the teaser trailer.
Black Ops 2’s iconic villain Raul Menendez makes a surprise cameo in the trailer, creating further excitement for Black Ops 7. Although Xbox did go into too many details regarding the title, fans can expect a plethora of new details at Opening Night Live in August.
The Black Ops 2 Story Continues Later This Year
Additionally, Activision has confirmed a co-op campaign for Black Ops 7, a feature last seen in 2015’s Black Ops 3. Fans can also expect the traditional multiplayer and zombie experience from the game later this year.

Xbox has finally announced that Final Fantasy has returned to its platform.
Both FF16 and FF7 Remake will be available on Xbox consoles by the end of 2025.
Fans can expect future entries to launch on the platform on day one.
The Final Fantasy series has been a PlayStation exclusive for the last few years. Although major titles like Final Fantasy 15 and more launched day one on Xbox, the same cannot be said for the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 16.
Even though rumors regarding these titles have spread like wildfire online for many months, no official news has appeared yet. However, in a surprising turn of events, Xbox has finally confirmed Final Fantasy 16 for the platform.
Why it matters: Xbox fans have long waited to see this JRPG series heading to their platform, marking a major moment for them today.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 featured two major announcements regarding the iconic IP. For starters, Final Fantasy 16 launches on the platform today, making its Xbox debut just under two years after its original release on PS5.
Elsewhere, Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been confirmed for the platform. This particular title is not launching just yet, but Square Enix has confirmed plans for a Winter release at the showcase.
This also means that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will follow shortly. Moreover, fans can expect the finale of this trilogy to launch day-and-date on Xbox and PS5 as Square Enix hinted in the past.
Although this announcement does not come as too big a surprise after the gaming giant’s third-party push and fondness for Microsoft’s hardware, Xbox fans will still be glad to see the JRPG classic series returning to the platform.
FF7 Rebirth Should Arrive on Xbox Following These Games
Previously, games like Final Fantasy 13 were major highlights of Xbox showcases, so this IP and Microsoft have a long history together.

It will take Indi to the ancient streets of Rome, where he’ll solve a new mystery.
It will be available for all platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Game Pass.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was among the finest releases of last year, scoring an 86 on Metacritic. It was very reminiscent of the original Indiana Jones movies, and gave a solid sense of adventure. Fortunately, it’s getting more content soon.
At today’s Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft announced that the Indian Jones DLC titled The Order of Giants is set to release later this year, after the game’s successful launch on PlayStation 5.
Why it matters: The existence of the DLC was revealed a long time ago, but fans were anticipating that it would release with the PS5 port. However, players will have to wait a few more months.
MachineGames dropped the first look trailer for the Indiana Jones DLC, along with the release date set for September 4, 2025. The expansion will bring Dr. Jones to a brand new adventure filled with danger and mystery.
According to the official synopsis, the DLC will be set in the ancient streets of Rome, where Indi will have to outwit a dangerous cult and solve puzzles to uncover the dark legacy of the Nephilim giants.
Indi will take on a dangerous cult in Rome in the DLC
The Order of Giants DLC will be available for all platforms, including the PS5. This isn’t surprising considering Indiana Jones and the Great Circle topped the PlayStation store charts when its pre-orders were opened.

Blood of Dawnwalker, a new RPG developed by ex-CDPR devs, gets a new trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase.
Tiny bits of gameplay show the protagonist dashing, running on walls, and fighting monsters in his vampiric mode.
The game is set to launch in 2026, with a proper gameplay reveal scheduled for 21 June.
Xbox Games Showcase has kicked off strong with big AAA unveils. Among these, Rebel Wolves, a studio formed by ex-CDPR devs, also made an appearance.
Their ambitious project, The Blood of Dawnwalker, just received a brand-new gameplay trailer with a release date of 2026.
Why It Matters: The Blood of Dawnwalker is among the most patiently awaited RPG releases. Being developed by ex-Witcher 3 devs, one can expect top-notch quality from this release.
The brand-new trailer, dubbed “Trapped Between Two Worlds,” is a direct nod to the protagonist, Cohen, who is neither a vampire nor a human, but must survive the Black Death plague and the vampires aiming to overthrow humanity.
This trailer also showcased snippets of gameplay, where the main character can be seen utilizing his vampiric powers at night. So far, the nighttime powers are shown to be dashing at high speed, running on the walls upside down, or using his claws to fight enemies.
During the day, however, Cohen will have to rely on his sword skills to fight both human and supernatural enemies since his powers are unusable.
Blood Of Dawnwalker Aiming For The Same Quality As Witcher 3
The game is said to last around 30 days, featuring cycles of day and night to save your family. Each setting offers a unique playstyle and freedom, as mentioned above.
Surprisingly, Blood of Dawnwalker has only been in development for around 2 years on the Unreal Engine 5 and is set for a 2026 release. With this much gameplay detail and innovation, it’s surprising how much Rebel Wolves were able to achieve with the game.
A proper gameplay reveal for Blood of Dawnwalker is expected on 21 June.
What are your thoughts on this new trailer? Are you willing to buy Blood of Dawnwalker when it releases next year? Let us know in the comments below or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Xbox has officially revealed its first handheld in partnership with Asus.
Dubbed the ROG Xbox Ally, this handheld promises to support your entire Xbox library.
Microsoft is launching two handhelds, and more details will be shared later this year.
The Xbox handheld has been rumored for well over a year, but rumors picked up the pace earlier this year. Insiders also spoke about an official OEM handheld as Xbox’s debut into the market, and it seems these leaks were very real.
During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Microsoft has officially revealed its first step into this market. The ROG Xbox Ally marks the beginning of Xbox’s handheld journey.
Why it matters: This handheld is expected to be just one of the few new portable devices from major gaming giants coming over the next years, creating buzz for fans of handheld gaming.
The handheld marks a collaboration between Asus, the manufacturer behind the ROG Ally handheld, and Xbox. Much like the original ROG Ally, the Xbox variant relies on AMD Ryzen Z2 chips for very capable handheld gaming, but there is one key difference.
These Xbox-branded handhelds boast compatibility with Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem. As per the gaming giant, they support the entire Xbox and Windows games library, further driving home the company’s ‘Play Anywhere’ motto.
Microsoft states that both handhelds will launch later this year, with the ROG Xbox Ally X bringing more capable hardware. As for what these devices will cost, the gaming giant has yet to say much, but fans should expect a premium launch price.
Apart from the Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch, handhelds have not been known for their budget friendliness, so Xbox’s first forray into this market is unlikely to be too different.
Moreover, fans should look forward to the fully in-house Xbox handheld in a few years. This device will likely boast even better compatibility with the gaming ecosystem.

The title officially arrives on October 21, 2025, on all consoles and Game Pass.
Team Ninja continues the trend of launching new games every year.
The Ninja Gaiden franchise returned in all its glory earlier this year. Following the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and the announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4, excitement for one of action gaming’s finest IPs has been higher than ever.
Ninja Gaiden 4 was announced with a 2025 release earlier this year and a short gameplay trailer that showcased PlatinumGames’ take on the IP. Today, Xbox has finally debuted a brand new trailer of the game, announcing the final launch date of the title.
Why it matters: Ninja Gaiden’s return serves as a breath of fresh air. The game stands out amid the plethora of currently available Souls-like titles on the market, which offer a very different flavour of action gameplay.
The latest Ninja Gaiden 4 gameplay shows more footage featuring Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa. Both protagonists bring a unique flair to the series while adhering to the signature combat style of the franchise.

Dying Light: The Beast has become another AAA game from Techland over the course of development.
As per the series’ director, the game offers nearly 40 hours of total content.
Techland is confident that the title will live up to fan expectations.
The Dying Light series has been around for a while, with Dying Light 2 being supported extensively since its release in 2022. Last year, Techland also announced Dying Light: The Beast, a new entry in the franchise meant to offer a linear experience with a different flavor of zombie hunting thrills and terrors.
Although Dying Light: The Beast initially began development as a smaller project for Techland, the studio states that the title has grown in scope.
Why it matters: Techland is currently busy with multiple projects, in addition to supporting Dying Light 2. Therefore, fans expected its upcoming release to be much smaller in scope than it seems to be.
Techland’s Work Has Changed The Course of Development | Image via X
As per series director Tymon Smekta, Techland’s upcoming title has grown in scope so much that it can be considered yet another AAA offering from the studio. In fact, the director has referred to this release as Dying Light 3, even if the title may suggest otherwise.
According to the developer, Dying Light: The Beast offers up to 37 hours of content, 20 of which are taken up by the story mode. For context, Dying Light 2 offered a similar amount of story content when it launched in 2022.
We treat it as a proper AAA release.
Tymon Smekta also discussed the game’s $60 launch price, stating confidently that this price would be more than justified at release.
Dying Light: The Beast Introduces Several New Elements To The IP
According to recent previews, Dying Light’s latest iteration offers more mayhem and gunplay, making it quite different from its predecessors. Fans can expect these new tools and more to make for a fresh experience once the game officially launches in August.

A Plague Tale 3 has been leaked online thanks to an early announcement of footage.
The footage has since been taken down, but the game appears to be a spin-off.
This would make sense considering the story was wrapped in the first two games.
A Plague Tale is one of the best AA franchises of recent years. Developed by Asobo Studios, the first two games followed the story of a brother and sister. While it seemed the series was done with the sequel, there’s still more to it.
Recently, the publishers posted a brief announcement trailer for A Plague Tale 3 by mistake before taking it down soon after. However, some leakers were able to capture it and reveal it to the masses.
Why it matters: Because the story of Amisia and Hugo seemed to come to an end in A Plague Tale Requiem, the new title is a spin-off with a new but still well-known character from the game.
A Plague Tale 3 was first accidentally revealed by Focus Entertainment, but was later taken down.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacyis set to mark the return of Sophia, a seafarer introduced in the last game. She helps Amicia and Hugo in a big chunk of the game, and even makes it to the end, accompanying the former after the unfortunate events.
However, we don’t have much to go by from the brief footage that was leaked. Based on the ‘Legacy’ name, it could be a prequel or a spinoff and not necessarily reflect the events of the Requiem, but we will find out soon.
Amicia and Hugo’s story concluded A Plague Tale: Requiem.
A Plague Tale 3 or Legacy is coming in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The official announcement could be coming at the Xbox Games Showcase, which is set to happen in just a few hours from now.
What are your thoughts on A Plague Tale 3? What do you think the main plotline will be? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has made a new record in the industry.
An insider reports that the console sold over 3 million units within 24 hours of its release.
This figure is 3x higher than sales of consoles like the PS4.
The Nintendo Switch 2 launched to very high expectations, following its predecessor’s success in selling over 150 million units, making it one of the industry’s most successful hardware releases.
Ahead of this launch, analysts predicted incredible sales for the console, and the latest reports suggest that Nintendo has lived up to these expectations. The Nintendo Switch 2 has reportedly become this industry’s biggest hardware launch to date.
Why it matters: This performance shows that Nintendo is doing better than ever, paving the path for more success in the near future.
Nintendo Has Made History In A Single Day | Image via X
As reported by Nintendo Prime, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold as many as 3 million units within the first 24 hours. The insider claims that this sales figure has been shared with him by three different sources.
For context, this sales figure has already eclipsed the lifetime sales of the Steam Deck. In fact, the Nintendo Switch 2 is close to outpacing the entire PC gaming handheld market with its 3 million figure.
Compared to the Nintendo Switch 2, other popular consoles, such as the PS4 and PS5, required up to two months to reach the 3 million sales mark. Therefore, Nintendo has also shattered the competition in the home console space.
Elsewhere, the original Nintendo Switch is close to claiming the title of the best-selling gaming console of all time, currently held by the PS2, which sold 160 million units in its lifetime.
The Switch 2 Is Living Up To Its Predecessor So Far
Moving forward, the console is expected to become even more popular. Although there has been controversy surrounding $80 games, Cyberpunk 2077’s performance, and more, the general audience seems to be quite happy with what is to come for Nintendo’s latest piece of gaming hardware.
What are your thoughts on the new record? Do you think Nintendo will be able to sustain this momentum? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

The highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine was revealed by Insomniac Games in 2021.
It has almost been four years since the reveal, and the developer has not given any further crucial information about the games.
The fandom is concerned that the game has been canceled because it didn’t show up at either the State of Play or the Summer Game Fest.
However, the developer also stated that there would be no news soon, which was concerning for many fans. It has been a long time since we last heard about Wolverine, so fans were expecting it to appear at the PlayStation State of Play. When it didn’t appear at the event, the fandom was expecting it to make an appearance at the Summer Game Fest.
However, it was a new show at the second event too, which is why the fandom thinks it has been canceled.
Why it matters: It won’t be unprecedented for the developer to cancel a title after not giving any updates on it for years.
Marvel’s Wolverine Was Officially Revealed By Insomniac Games Almost 4 Years Ago At PlayStation Showcase
The Summer Game Fest was pretty bland, but Resident Evil Requiem’s reveal saved the day. Despite this game’s appearance, it was a mid-event, which is exactly what the fandom thought there might be another big surprise.
The only surprise in the event was the upcoming Resident Evil, which in fact did hype a massive amount of fans, but Marvel’s Wolverine fans were left disappointed.
I know that “Marvel’s Wolverine has been cancelled” announcement is coming one of these days, I’m not gonna like it, but I’ve accepted that it’s coming.
Fans are now skeptical that the game has been canceled, and we might hear about it soon from Insomniac. The developer also didn’t release the three free DLCs for Spider-Man 2, and also canceled Spider-Man: The Great Web, a standalone multiplayer title set within the Spider-verse.
Despite partnering with Summer Game Fest 2025, Sony shows no sign of Marvel’s Wolverine. Why the game is still missing – and what that means.
The signs from Insomniac do indicate that the title may be canceled in the future, but hopefully, it doesn’t go to that. What do you think about this matter? Do you think the game has been secretly canceled? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.

Resident Evil Requiem was just recently revealed at the Summer Game Fest.
The reveal has hyped a vast amount of fandom, but some were concerned that the primary setting is yet again Raccoon City.
A reliable insider has confirmed that Raccoon City won’t be the main setting, as it is just a place visited.
The trailer has hyped many of the gamers, but they collectively shared one concern: that the game is set in Raccoon City. However, they shouldn’t be concerned, as one of the reliable Resident Evil leakers has claimed that it is not a primary location but just a place visited.
Why it matters: Fans don’t want the same main area for more games, as that may make their experience a little boring. So, introducing new settings and areas in a game is pretty important.
Dusk Golem on Twitter posted the release date and revealed the game’s main character. He said that Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft would be the two main characters. In this tweet, a fan commented, “I reallly reallly REALLY hate it already lol “Return to Raccoon City!” Is so bad”.
However, fans shouldn’t be much concerned as this is not the primary setting of the game.
Do not worry, that is not the primary setting of the game, just a place visited.
-Dusk Golem
While, of course, there are fans who adore the idea of exploring Raccoon City as the primary setting, they would get their fair share of exploration. The trailer showcases a destroyed Raccoon City, which would be pretty fun to explore.
One of the protagonists of Resident Evil Requiem is going to be Grace Ashcroft.
Whoa never thought we would be able to revisit the ruins of Raccoon City, especially the RPD ruins. Super hyped for it.
While the fandom is super hyped to visit the destroyed Raccoon City, they may not have liked it as the main location, so hopefully the insider is right.
Dusk Golem has been right about some of the leaks, but he doesn’t have a perfect track record. For instance, he said that the game would appear at the Summer Game Fest, and it did. However, he also said that Jill would be the second main character.
Hopefully, we get to hear more about the game soon. What do you think of the Resident Evil Requiem trailer revealed yesterday? Are you hyped for the game? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.
