Pragmata Crosses 1 Million Sales Just Two Days After Launch

Story Highlight
  • Pragmata has sold more than one million copies worldwide in two days.
  • The action-adventure game has received extremely positive reviews for its innovative gameplay and narrative.
  • Capcom’s marketing for the new IP is also a key reason behind this sales performance.

Capcom has been on a remarkable run recently, with its last 5 games crossing the 80 threshold on Metacritic. The Japanese gaming giant has already found record-breaking success with Resident Evil Requiem this year, and its newest launch, Pragmata, is continuing this hot streak.

The action title from Capcom has garnered an extremely positive response from fans and critics alike, who praised the creative gameplay and the emotional narrative. Now, sales numbers for the title have come out, and Pragmata is not doing too badly on the commercial front either.

Why it matters: An innovative and risky venture like Pragmata finding success at this scale is a positive sign for the industry, as it shows that fresh IPs can find an audience with good marketing if they bring something new to the table.

Capcom just announced that Pragmata has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide, only 2 days after launching. The sci-fi action game has achieved this landmark despite being a completely new IP and not being available on the Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan.

In the press release, Capcom highlighted its marketing strategy as one of the key reasons behind Pragmata’s success, with the early demo helping fans experience the innovative gameplay and get a better understanding of the new IP.

Considering how Pragmata was wishlisted over 1 million times by players following the demo, Capcom deserves plaudits for helping the title connect with fans through smart marketing.

Pragmata Success Pushes Capcom Stock Price Up 10% Over Last 5 Days

Story Highlight
  • Following excitement regarding Pragmata, Capcom’s share prices have surged 11.22% over the last 5 days.
  • The game has seen plenty of positivity due to critics’ reviews and general user discussions.
  • A sales update from the studio could push share prices even higher in the coming days.

Pragmata has marked yet another successful single-player release from Capcom. Following unprecedented success with Resident Evil Requiem, the publisher’s new IP is soaring in popularity.

Despite being an experimental title, Pragmata is already showing signs of a classic for the Japanese gaming giant. In fact, amid the positivity surrounding this release, the publisher’s share prices have also risen quite a bit.

Why it matters: Capcom is currently one of the industry’s best when it comes to AAA titles, and Pragmata is more proof that the Japanese gaming giant stands in a league of its own.

Capcom Share Prices Amid Pragmata Excitement
Capcom Share Prices Amid Pragmata Excitement

Looking at data from the last 5 days shows that Capcom’s share prices have increased by 11% or 370 Japanese Yen. At present, the company’s stock is selling for 3,669 Japanese Yen, equivalent to $23.12.

Interestingly, this surge coincides with the arrival of Pragmata’s reviews, which began pouring in on April 13. The trend shows that shares steadily rose till April 17, the game’s official release date.

Because the positivity surrounding this new IP is only growing, Capcom could see another surge in share prices come next week. Keep in mind that user reviews for Pragmata have it competing with iconic releases like Resident Evil 4 Remake, suggesting the Japanese gaming giant has something special on its hands.

Expectations For The New IP Were Quite High

Also, Capcom has yet to share official sales figures for Pragmata. If the gaming giant announces an impressive sales milestone sometime later next week, the share prices could see further improvement.

All in all, the Japanese studio is truly on a winning streak, unlike any other AAA developer right now.

PC Gamer Scores RTX 4060 Ti For Just $12 Instead of $400 Full Price

Story Highlight
  • A Redditor has managed to find an incredible deal on a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.
  • The user has obtained the card for just $12 at a Goodwill bin store.
  • He confirmed that the graphics card works completely fine and was basically brand new at the time of the purchase.

Modern graphics cards belonging to the Nvidia RTX 50 and RTX 40 families have all seen varying degrees of price hikes recently, largely due to the ongoing memory crisis. Because this crisis has also impacted SSD prices, PC gaming has become more expensive overall.

However, many PC gamers continue to share incredible finds on social media. Previously, one user managed to find memory after dumpster diving, and now a Redditor has shared an account of securing a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti nearly free of cost.

Why it matters: The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti retailed for $400 when it originally made its debut. A quick Newegg search shows that the GPU can cost as much as $500 today.

According to a Reddit post from u/FunInformation8453, the user managed to buy an RTX 4060 Ti for just $12. Note that the image shows this is an 8GB variant of the RTX 4060 Ti, but given the incredibly low price of $12, the VRAM hardly matters.

As per the user, this deal was hiding around at the bin store Goodwill. The Redditor also explained that bin stores like Goodwill are frequently restocked through returned goods, among other things, making such deals possible.

The user further noted that the RTX 4060 Ti is brand new and works perfectly out of the box, even sharing an image of the graphics card being used in an existing PC build for those in disbelief.

Of course, many in the replies have noted how they feel jealous of the user for finding such an unreal deal.

Although the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB is not Nvidia’s most popular graphics card and has seen its fair share of criticism, practically anybody would be happy to own one for such a low price.

ASRock Expands DDR5 Accessibility With One Sub-Channel DRAM Support on Intel Motherboards

[Press Release] ASRock has introduced a new way to make DDR5 memory more affordable and flexible. The company announced that its Intel 600, 700, and 800 series motherboards now support One sub-channel (1×32-bit) DDR5 HUDIMM modules, offering a simpler and lower-cost alternative to standard designs.

Traditional DDR5 memory uses a dual-subchannel layout (2×32-bit), which improves high-capacity performance but increases cost and complexity. ASRock’s new approach reduces this to a single 32-bit sub-channel, cutting the number of memory chips per module. This directly lowers production costs and makes DDR5 more accessible for mainstream users.

The company worked with memory manufacturers, including TEAMGROUP, to develop this design. The goal is to increase the availability of cheaper DDR5 modules without compromising everyday performance.

This new memory type also improves flexibility. Users can mix One sub-channel and standard DDR5 modules for a better balance between cost and performance. Tests on the H610M COMBO II motherboard show that combining an 8GB One sub-channel module with a 16GB dual sub-channel module can deliver better bandwidth than a single 24GB traditional setup. It can also help reduce latency in certain workloads.

Support is not limited to desktop systems. ASRock has expanded compatibility across its DeskMini lineup to support HSODIMM DDR5, enabling small-form-factor PCs to benefit from the same technology.

Intel has backed the move, highlighting the need for more accessible DDR5 solutions as demand grows. By lowering costs and expanding configuration options, ASRock’s approach could accelerate DDR5 adoption across segments.

With BIOS updates already available, users can start using One sub-channel DDR5 on supported motherboards.

Capcom Has Released 5 Games In A Row With At Least 80 Metacritic Score in Just Over A Year

Story Highlight
  • Capcom has been on a roll in recent few years with consistent quality releases.
  • All of its last 5 releases have garnered a score of at least 80 on Metacritic reviews.
  • This showcases how successful the studio has been over the course of years.

Capcom is one of the most successful studios of the decade. The studio has now been profitable for 8 years in a row, and this year is expected to continue the tradition. And this attributes to its commitment to consistent quality releases.

To showcase the quality, all of Capcom’s recent 5 games released across the last year and a half boast a score of at least 80 or above on Metacritic. This is a clear indication of how the studio has flourished in a struggling industry.

Why it matters: With growing budgets and falling sales, the last few years have been harsh for even some of the biggest players in the market, like Ubisoft, Bethesda, and more, but Capcom has been unaffected by that.

These are the last 5 games Capcom has released with their Metacritic scores, minus any remasters or collections of older games:

Capcom is on a historic run

If we count Kunitsu-Gami’s PC score, that marks the overall scores being over 85 on Metacritic. This undoubtedly puts Capcom in a position where it won’t really be wrong to call it the studio of the decade.

Of course, the Japanese giants aren’t done yet, as this year still has Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which, if initial previews tell anything, could also find big success closing a flawless year for the legendary studio.

Launching Games On Game Pass Also Makes Them Successful On Other Platforms, Says Xbox Executive

Story Highlight
  • An Xbox executive argues that bringing games to Game Pass creates a positive snowball effect for developers.
  • The games on the service get free advertisement, making them popular on other platforms.
  • The gossip about the game spreads from Game Pass, leading to sales on Steam and consoles.

Xbox Game Pass can be a great gateway for indie and AA developers looking to capture a new player base, as gamers can try these games at a fraction of the cost via monthly subscriptions. However, it can also cause studios to lose a staggering number of sales.

An Xbox executive now also argues that bringing games to the service creates ‘a viral snowball effect’ that makes them successful on other platforms.

Why it matters: The Xbox executive believes that Game Pass does much more than what it’s credited for, essentially widely promoting the game on other platforms.

game-pass-feat
Xbox’s subscription service has seen a lot of controversy over the years.

In an interview with Game Developer, ID@Xbox global director Guy Richards explains that millions of players enjoy games on Game Pass and that initial popularity steamrolls into a huge promotion.

One of the great benefits of launching into Game Pass on day one is the discovery that comes with it.

ID@Xbox global director, Guy Richards.

This word-of-mouth causes gamers to check out and wishlist the entry on other platforms like Steam and PlayStation, eventually leading to new sales that might have been impossible without Game Pass.

Typically, games that are launching day one into Game Pass tend to do very well on other platforms as well.

On a side note, Game Pass received nearly 300 new games last year worth over $8000 in retail value. It is also allegedly getting a separate tier for Xbox’s first-party games.

Indiana Jones Game Pass
Game Pass has hosted multiple AAA heavy hitters on day one since its inception.

On the flip side, many argue that Xbox Game Pass has been embroiled in controversy for a while.

The recent price hikes pushed the Xbox co-founder to come out and say this strategy is a betrayal of fans. Meanwhile, the gaming brand’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, also finds the service too expensive.

The service is also reportedly not growing as swiftly as Microsoft had hoped.

Resident Evil Requiem Is Soon Getting A Mercenaries Mode Like RE4 Remake, Datamine Reveals

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil Requiem could be getting The Mercenaries Mode along with the upcoming DLC in late 2026.
  • Newly datamined unused soundtracks perfectly align with the music you’d hear in Mercenaries.
  • The replayable wave-based assault minigame would finally give players more to do after enjoying story content.

RE: Requiem has been a huge success for Capcom, becoming the fastest-selling entry in the IP. An impressive 70% of players have finished the campaign across PS5 and PC. Unfortunately, the game feels a tad bit lighter than what you’d expect from a mainline RE experience.

It appears that Capcom is already working on a solution by developing a Mercenaries mode similar to the RE4 remake. Newly leaked datamined soundtracks seem to heavily imply that the wave-based assault minigame is coming alongside the planned DLC in late 2026

Why it matters: Capcom clearly nailed Resident Evil Requiem in terms of storytelling and visuals, leaving no room for complaints. However, the fans want more, and the replayable Mercenaries Mode would be the perfect remaining missing link in the game.

As discovered by dataminer SYRKOV on Twitter, the confirmed bonus mode planned for Requiem appears to be Mercenaries. The unused short tracks reveal what appears to be character intros.

Track 2 feels like a remix of the Save Room theme from RE2, which fans think is a character intro for Leon. The fourth track includes the ticking of a clock, a sound all too common for the players who experienced the Mercenaries minigame in other Resident Evil games.

It’s worth noting that Capcom was also quick to introduce Mercenaries Mode in the Resident Evil 4 remake via a free update, which added a nice replayable element to it.

Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem perfectly portrayed action scenes with Leon.

Therefore, it’s highly likely that such a mode could also be coming to Requiem in the near future. Besides the story content and speedrunning, there’s not a lot to do in the game right now after all.

On a side note, Capcom is also reportedly developing Resident Evil 10 and the highly anticipated Code Veronica & Zero remakes at the moment.

Even Entry-Level Memory Sees A Brutal 110% And SSDs 147% Price Hike In Q1 2026, Next Quarter To Be Even Worse

Story Highlight
  • Multiple PC vendors saw growth in PC shipments, resulting in an overall 3.2% YoY increase.
  • The prices of the entry-level 8GB DDR4 and 1 TB SSD (no DRAM) shot up by 110% & 147%.
  • DRAM & SSD costs are expected to grow by 60% and 50% by Q2, as PC vendors enter a grueling phase.

The recent dip in memory prices was just a nothing burger, as DRAM & NAND demand is only getting worse with each passing week. Phison’s CEO also claimed that strong AI demand will lead the industry towards a shortage that lasts an entire decade, at least.

New research now shows that even entry-level 8GB SoDIMM DDR4 DRAM and 1TB NVMe SSDs (without DRAM) saw a price bump of 110% and 147% in Q1 2026 alone since last quarter. The prices of higher-end products reportedly turned out to be even worse.

Why it matters: The memory crisis continues to get out of control, with even once-cheap DRAM and NAND products now crossing unprecedented thresholds. The next quarter is expected to be more brutal, with nearly a 60% and 50% bump in DRAM and SSD prices.

Memory & SSD Prices Shot Through The Roof In Q1 2026, research shows.
Memory & SSD Prices Shot Through The Roof In Q1 2026, research shows.

Counterpoint also reports that the global PC shipments collectively improved by a staggering 3.2% YoY. In other words, PC vendors shipped 63.3 million units over last year’s 61.4 million.

A majority of vendors saw an increase in shipments, with Apple and ASUS carrying the mantle with 11% and 20% growth. Dell and Lenovo shipped 8% and 9% more shipments YoY. Meanwhile, HP and smaller PC vendors declined by 5% and 7% this year.

This 3% YoY increase did not happen due to improving market conditions. Ironically, the pre-emptive panic buying of PC vendors before memory price increases is the main factor behind this growth.

The global PC shipments grew by 3.2% YoY due to preemptive buying before memory-led price increases.
The global PC shipments grew by 3.2% YoY due to preemptive buying before memory-led price increases.

It’s becoming more difficult for PC vendors to offer entry-level products, so Counterpoint argues that the focus will now shift to mid to high-level portfolios moving forward.

The current trajectory of the market will also likely lead to a declining global PC shipment by late 2026 to early 2027. Additionally, the PC market is also now being threatened by the worsening CPU shortage.

Do you think DRAM and NAND prices will continue to grow in the current and next fiscal years, or can we expect the chaos to cool down soon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

The Last of Us 3 Story Could Explore Multiple New Immune Characters, Former Dev Teases

Story Highlight
  • Rumors of a possible The Last of Us Part 3 have started surfacing on the internet.
  • A former Naughty Dog Employee has revealed what could be the plot for the sequel.
  • Neill Druckmann told him he wants the story to explore multiple immune people.

The Last of Us games are undoubtedly some of the best narratives we’ve ever seen in gaming. Despite Part 2 being a little controversial, its emotional grasp, the way it delivers the characters’ arcs, is nothing short of incredible.

Recently, there have been multiple rumors and reports of a Part 3 being in development. Now, a former Naughty Dog developer has teased that The Last of Us Part 3 story could explore multiple new immune characters.

Why it matters: On first impressions, if this is indeed the plot of the sequel, it sounds a bit off, since Ellie would lose her unique status as the only known immune person in the post-apocalyptic world.

In a recent interview, an ex-Naughty Dog employee explained an interesting conversation he had with Neil Druckmann about the future of The Last of Us. The plot could revolve around multiple immune people.

He said Druckmann told him that several people are immune, that there is a whole congregation of that kind of person, and that he would like to explore the story with multiple characters, hinting at multiple playable characters

The Last of Us Part 1
TLOU Part 3 could explore multiple new immune characters.

If this happens, it might mean Ellie’s character arc is over, or maybe she’ll be pushed to a secondary role in the sequel. However, for now, take this with a grain of salt, as it isn’t an official confirmation.

Pragmata Becomes One of Capcom’s Highest-Rated Games on Steam

Story Highlight
  • Capcom’s latest title, Pragmata, a brand-new IP, has received a positive critical reception.
  • It has now become one of the highest-rated Capcom games of all time.
  • This marks a total sweep for Capcom, with all 3 of its 2026 releases being big hits.

Capcom’s latest entry, Pragmata, has taken the world by storm. For a new IP, it has absolutely nailed almost every aspect, received universal praise from critics on Metacritic, and the overall reviews tell a similar story.

Pragmata has debuted with overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, 4.75/5 on the PS Store, and a 90 user score on Metacritic, making it one of the highest-rated Capcom games of all time, trailing only a few classics.

Why it matters: While you expect high reviews from established franchises like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, getting a similar response for a brand-new IP is truly impressive, given the current industry.

Pragmata has some glowing reviews with an overwhelmingly positive reception on Steam.

Pragmata peaked at around 68K players on Steam, which in hindsight doesn’t seem like a massive number, but it’s still decent for a new IP. However, the reviews are glowing, and players seem to absolutely love it.

Its Steam reviews are only behind some notable titles like Resident Evil 4, Requiem, and a couple more. But then again, this is an established franchise with a gigantic fan base, so the comparison isn’t really there.

The audience seems to absolutely love the experience.

This marks yet another successful release for Capcom, which doesn’t seem to miss the mark. All 3 of its games released this year, namely Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3, and Pragmata, have been critically received

What are your thoughts on Pragmata becoming one of the highest-rated Capcom games ever? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

CPU Shortage Surpasses Memory Crisis, Impacting PC And Laptop Market

Story Highlight
  • The CPU market is now facing a worse situation than the RAM industry.
  • Prices for CPUs are about to become much worse.
  • If Intel 18A yields improve, the situation could become marginally better.

Despite earlier concerns that certain measures, like increasing supply too quickly, might worsen the situation, the industry was actively adapting and showing resistance. However, the CPU shortage is now having a greater impact on the industry than the memory crisis, and its effects are beginning to be felt throughout the whole PC industry.

Interestingly, products are still available in retail stores, which shows the efforts to maintain stability for consumers. However, the consumer market will experience huge volatility and fluctuations because of this.

Why it matters: Consumers have already been through a lot with the RAM shortages, and with CPUs now next in line, things continue to worsen for PC gaming.

Intel AMD Processors Supply Shortage Risk

The situation is more serious than it appears, and the common denominator with memory is identical, even though the figures differ. In fact, what we’re about to explain is worse than what has been going on for months.

OEMs are no longer able to obtain CPUs, despite the fact that they are the first to have access to them, ahead of wholesalers and retailers. This situation jeopardizes the global availability of laptops and IPCs, and according to leaks, part of the solution will depend on Intel’s ability to enhance the yields of its Intel 18A process.

Intel is in the process of expanding its node and plans to discontinue prior lines, such as Intel 3 and Intel 7. It has already altered its OEM price to reflect rising expenses and a supply-demand imbalance.

According to reports from the end of March, Intel has begun boosting the price of its CPUs for OEM clients due to supply bottlenecks and rising raw material costs. It was also stated that both Intel and AMD had warned their consumers about additional price rises planned in March and April.

In other words, it’s no longer just an issue of a specific CPU costing more, but equipment manufacturers are acquiring full systems at a higher price from the start.

CPU market

In the PC market, manufacturers such as HP and Dell are receiving fewer CPUs than they require, with typical price increases ranging from 10% to 15% or more, and delivery delays increasing from one or two weeks to an average of eight to twelve weeks, with some cases extending to six months.

The most concerning element of the matter is that some industry insiders admit that paying more does not guarantee getting more CPUs. So right now, the CPU market is worse than RAM.

The source of this tension is also clear. The scarcity began in the second half of last year, driven mostly by substantially higher-than-expected demand for server CPUs, particularly from new AI-focused data centers.

The market was already under pressure for GPUs, memory, and storage, and now that pressure has spread to processors as well. As long as this situation continues, the PC and laptop markets will continue to fight for a limited supply at a time when demand is high and delivery times are getting longer.
