Capcom Has Released 5 Games In A Row With At Least 80 Metacritic Score in Just Over A Year

Is Capcom The Studio of The Decade?

Story Highlight
  • Capcom has been on a roll in recent few years with consistent quality releases.
  • All of its last 5 releases have garnered a score of at least 80 on Metacritic reviews.
  • This showcases how successful the studio has been over the course of years.

Capcom is one of the most successful studios of the decade. The studio has now been profitable for 8 years in a row, and this year is expected to continue the tradition. And this attributes to its commitment to consistent quality releases.

To showcase the quality, all of Capcom’s recent 5 games released across the last year and a half boast a score of at least 80 or above on Metacritic. This is a clear indication of how the studio has flourished in a struggling industry.

Why it matters: With growing budgets and falling sales, the last few years have been harsh for even some of the biggest players in the market, like Ubisoft, Bethesda, and more, but Capcom has been unaffected by that.

These are the last 5 games Capcom has released with their Metacritic scores, minus any remasters or collections of older games:

If we count Kunitsu-Gami’s PC score, that marks the overall scores being over 85 on Metacritic. This undoubtedly puts Capcom in a position where it won’t really be wrong to call it the studio of the decade.

Of course, the Japanese giants aren’t done yet, as this year still has Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which, if initial previews tell anything, could also find big success closing a flawless year for the legendary studio.
