Overall, the game has Very Positive reviews, but the recent reception has been unexpectedly good. This is a massive achievement for a new studio and a Souls-like, both of which typically find it difficult to find mass appeal.
Given how difficult Lies of P can be, it is great to see gamers enjoying it. While its difficulty can make it frustrating, the game delivers the same satisfaction that millions have enjoyed in FromSoftware’s work.
The game has also topped the 1 million sales target. DLC for Lies of P is now in development, in addition to a sequel.
Lies of P has been one of the biggest surprises of 2023. While it always looked promising, the game has performed beyond expectations, and we think Lies of P is the best Souls-like game so far.
