- Recent speculations led to fans hoping for a GTA 6 reveal last month.
- A popular source of Rockstar information suggests a reveal could happen between November and December.
- The developer may be targeting a Spring 2025 release for GTA 6.
Nearly two years after Rockstar confirmed active development of GTA 6, the studio has yet to officially reveal or announce the game. Fans grow more desperate with each passing day, clinging to the smallest evidence pointing to a potential reveal.
Among the latest theories and rumors, many had already prepared themselves for an October reveal. Unsurprisingly, this did not come to fruition, and fans were again left waiting for the reveal.
While an announcement this year appears unlikely with each passing day, insider Tez2 predicts that Rockstar’s anniversary may be our last hope for an official look at GTA 6 this year.
Why it matters: Having sold over 185 million units, GTA 5 has already set up its successor for record-breaking success. Therefore, this game will be a monumental release for Rockstar and the entire industry.
According to the insider, Rockstar’s upcoming anniversary will play a crucial role in the announcement of GTA 6. The studio was initially founded in December 1998, so it is quickly approaching its 25th anniversary.
Therefore, the studio may finally pull the curtains off of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto release in late November or early December. This seems to be the last possible date for a reveal in 2023.
Tez2 believes that if Rockstar does not announce the game in early December, it will be shown for the first time in February 2024. The leaker reckons that the studio is looking to conclude its celebration of GTA 5’s anniversary soon to focus on the IP’s future.
Additionally, Rockstar developers appear to be targeting a release window of Spring 2025 for the time being. This is also in line with CEO Strauss Zelnick’s recent hints, which put the game between April 2024 and March 2025.
However, the insider believes the game could be delayed to Fall 2025, going by previous delays from the studio.
Nonetheless, this information will not make the wait for GTA 6 any less painful. The industry is finally ready for a new entry in this groundbreaking franchise, but Take-Two and Rockstar do not appear to be very keen on sharing information for now.
