The Highest-Ever Players For A Racing Game on Steam!

Story Highlight
  • Forza Horizon 6 recently launched in early access and already reached record players.
  • The full launch has broken past that record as well and garnered 273K players.
  • This is the 3x the numbers of Forza 5, and a record for racing games on Steam.

Forza Horizon 6 made waves when it released in early access a few days ago for people who paid for the premium version. The title broke all previous racing game records, and garnered an outstanding 172K concurrent players on Steam.

Now, with its full release, Forza Horizon 6 has, as expected beaten its own early access record and managed 273K players on Steam. This, again is the highest number of players for a racing game of all time.

Why it matters: Forza is undoubtedly the biggest racing franchise in the world at this point, so success was already guaranteed. However, this time it has broken all previous records, and topped all racing titles ever.

Forza Horizon 6’s launch took its concurrent player count to 273K. Interestingly, while it launched it with mixed reviews, they have now turned positive as well. And the player base is expected to grow even further.

It has released in the middle of the week, so we can expect a increase in players during the weekend, although 273K is already a ridiculous number for a racing game. Additionally,  over 1.6 million players upgraded to the premium edition.

The player count is also already 3x that of Forza Horizon 5, which in itself was considered quite a big hit. Nonetheless, Microsoft has finally gotten the big hit they were aiming for and they still have some major titles for 2026.
