Elden Ring Hype Delays Final Fantasy 14 Expansion By One Week

Final fantasy 14 Director Himself Will Be Busy Playing Elden Ring!

Story Highlight
  • Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Edition is coming on 20th June.
  • Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail is officially coming on 2nd July 2024.
  • The game was planned for a week earlier but was delayed due to the Elden Ring Expansion.

Last year, Final Fantasy 16 became a commercial success for the franchise, while the recent release Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth got impressive reviews and holds 90 plus on Metacritic.

Following the streak of successful releases, the studio is gearing itself for the Final Fantasy 14 Expansion, which has been pushed away for a week, letting fans enjoy Elden Ring DLC.

Why It Matters: The other studios should also wait for other games’ hype to fade out so they can initiate their game hype.

We figured everyone would be interested in playing the Elden Ring DLC,”

Yesterday in PAX East 2024, Final Fantasy director Yoshida gave details about their upcoming game Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail Expansion.

Elaborating further on the game’s release date, which is scheduled for July 2nd with early access beginning on June 28th, he asserted that the plans regarding the game’s release have changed a bit.

Initially planned for a week earlier, it has been pushed forward after the highly anticipated announcement of Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, slated for June 21.

As per the director, they have figured out that the Elden ring hype is so immense, persuading us to let the players enjoy the expansion and then spend the rest of their summer vacation in Dawntrail.

We believe it’s a smart move from the director as nothing can match the craze of Elden Ring, so if the expansion has been released at the time of the excitement peak, it won’t get the reception the developers aim for.

Meanwhile, many studios have already made the same mistake by releasing their game simultaneously as an already popular game, resulting in unsatisfactory results.

Furthermore, the director highlighted the changes for the expansion. With refined multiplayer and more large-scale duties, sticking with the small-scale content has made the expansion even more renovated.

Nevertheless, there is also anticipation among PC fans of Final Fantasy, as we recently reported that the Final Fantasy 16 PC port is reportedly being released this year.
