- The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel title has finally been officially confirmed by Bethesda.
- They revealed it at Bethesda’s 40th anniversary, with the game’s background score.
- However, the eventual release window still remains a mystery.
It was rumored last week that we would finally get to see an update on the next iteration of The Elder Scrolls soon. The title was announced back in 2018, and since then, all we’ve had are minor updates that the development is progressing well.
While still nothing too major, Bethesda has officially revealed The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel as the official name of the entry. However, all we get is the name and logo, and there’s still no release window.
Why it matters: Fans have been looking forward to the title for so many years now. Skyrim’s popularity even to date adds more to the hype, but it seems that there is still much waiting to be done.
Bethesda released a video celebrating the studio’s 40th anniversary and also announced “Sentinel” as the title for the 6th Elder Scrolls game. We can also hear the background score, which is very reminiscent of older games.
What makes the title even more intriguing is how long it has been in development. The developers reportedly wanted to focus on the sequel, but Todd Howard wanted them to push Starfield as the priority release.

However, now they are free to work on it, so development must have ramped up. Earlier this year, a report suggested that the release is still 2-3 years away, but at least fans now have something to talk about.
Anyways, some rumored things about Sentinel include a Hammerfell setting. Additionally, this will be the first game that will explore the history of the franchise and the mysterious ancient artifacts.
