 Design

Let’s start with the design.

ORICO Aluminum Alloy Phone/Tablet Stand (AMS1)

Introducing the Aluminum Alloy Stand (ASM1). It’s made of high-quality Aluminum Alloy with a sleek gray silicon mat. CNC machined for precision and a Mac-style finish. It’s 104x92x95mm in size and weighs 0.15 KG. The back has a large hole for cables, and the top features a stylish gray silicon rubber tip with the ORICO brand name and logo. The angular design at the bottom adds a classy touch.

The stand has a sleek angular design with a silicon rubber base for stability. It features a raised surface to securely hold devices and prevent slipping. The other side is made of pure aluminum without branding. Designed for easy use at a 60° viewing angle, it has a comfortable handle due to Anodic oxidation.

PRO TIP: When considering the ORICO Aluminum Alloy Phone/Tablet Stand (AMS1), it’s an excellent choice for those seeking a sleek stand with a fixed 60° viewing angle for optimal comfort.

ORICO 4 Port USB3.0 HUB with Stand (SHC-U3)

This USB hub holds up to 4 devices and has a stand for your phone. It comes in white or black, measures 98x98x26mm, and is made of ABS material. No driver is required for this ORICO Hub and Holder, which works with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The 1m black USB cable connects to a triangle-shaped hub with a flipper stand. The front has four blue USB 3.0 ports and a power LED. ORICO brand and logo are below ports. The sides are identical, but the right has an input USB port for PC/Laptop connection. The back has a base for a tablet/phone, but ports face away if used as a stand. The hub utilizes USB 3.0 with a 5 Gbps speed.

I could not get any information about the operating temperature range of this enclosure as it was heating after certain usage when 4 devices were connected to it. This hub carries a multi-protection safety system that includes:

  • Over Current Protection
  • Over Voltage Protection
  • Electric Leakage Protection
  • Short Circuit Protection
  • Clutter Protection

Test Bench

The following test bench was used to test the drive:

  • Intel i7 6850k
  • Asus ROG Rampage V Edition 10
  • Ballistics Elite 4x4GB @ 3000 MHz
  • Noctua NH-U12S CPU Cooler
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 FE
  • Corsair AX1200i
  • Samsung 840 EVO 250GB for OS
  • HyperX 120GB SSD [Test Drive]
  • PrimoChill Praxis WetBench
WARNING: Users interested in the ORICO 4-port USB 3.0 HUB with Stand (SHC-U3) should be cautious about potential overheating during continuous usage with multiple connected devices, and it may not be suitable for those requiring numerous USB ports.

As such testing of the hub is not needed as long as it shows all the connected devices and normal data copying takes place. Using a single USB port on the PC/Laptop and sharing it across the four devices would reduce the data transfer rate if simultaneous copying is made.

I connected the following devices to the hub:

  • Viper 64GB USB 3.0 Flash drive
  • Kingston Data Traveller G4 8GB USB 3.0 Flash drive
  • WD Passport 1TB External drive
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
