It has been 8 years since Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6. Since then, we’ve had minor development updates, but we have yet to see what the studio has been cooking up. Fortunately, some key details have finally emerged.
A new report indicates that the next TES game will be titled The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel, and interestingly, the reveal could come as soon as next month. It is rumored to be set in Hammerfell.
Why it matters: Bethesda has generally been quite secretive about the title, only sharing updates like the development is progressing well and that’s all, so fans have been very curious about the much-awaited sequel.
Tom Warren of The Verge reports that The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel could be revealed next month. Next month marks the 15th anniversary of Skyrim, and the studio is reportedly set to announce it then.
Unfortunately, Warren doesn’t expect a full-fledged trailer or gameplay reveal; they could just reveal the title, and that’s it. But he has reaffirmed the Hammerfell setting, and it will be the first title to explore the franchise history.
So, we could be looking at a story where we finally find the origin of the ancient artifacts. That’s about all we know so far. Based on Todd Howard’s comments, the game is still not expected to come out anytime soon.
However, years later, Skyrim is still going strong. Bethesda revealed the game has sold over 60 million units, which increases the anticipation for the sequel even more. So, let’s just hope the studio reveals more than just the title.
