- GTA 6 is expected to feature more graphic violence than previous series entries.
- The game is said to include dismemberment, a major step up from GTA 5.
- Rockstar Games seems to be building on the gore featured in Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA 6 is making the most changes any entry in the series has had to date, creating excitement among the fandom.
Rockstar Games’ focus on innovation has led to a brand new control scheme, a greater focus on immersion, and livelier NPCs than any game in the past. It is also said that GTA 6 will up the gore of the series.
Why it matters: Although gore has been part of previous Grand Theft Auto entries, GTA 6 previews suggest Rockstar Games has upped the ante in this regard.

According to YouTuber ElRubius, GTA 6’s violence will be getting a noticeable upgrade. The upcoming open-world title is set to feature significantly more gore than previous entries, including dismemberment.
It is said that NPCs will lose parts of their body when shot, with the game even featuring elements like decapitations due to up-close shootings. This is similar to Rockstar Games’ dismemberment system from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Of course, Grand Theft Auto has never been a tame franchise. The series has always leaned into violent themes, but the detailed nature of GTA 6’s gore hints that things will be much more serious this time around.
YouTuber ElRubius even described an instance of being shocked by the graphic nature of GTA 6, which isn’t all too surprising given how realistic the game is aiming to be.

Elsewhere, the title will feature plenty of environmental destruction. Rockstar Games’ ultimate goal is to showcase the series’ chaotic nature as clearly as possible later this year.
What are your thoughts on the game’s gore system? Let’s discuss in the comments.
