The Game Was First Leaked in 2023's Insomniac Data Breach!

Story Highlight
  • A reliable insider has revealed that Insomniac’s Marvel’s Venom is still in the works.
  • It was never officially announced, but it was leaked in a 2023 data breach at the studio.
  • It has now been in development for many years, so it might launch next year.

Insomniac is currently preparing to launch its flagship title of 2026, Marvel’s Wolverine. Despite a bit of criticism of the character designs, the title looks promising, and the studio has hardly ever failed to make a statement with its titles.

However, it has another project in development that has been reported for a really long time now. While many expected that the highly rumored Marvel’s Venom game had been canceled, an insider confirms it’s still in the works

Why it matters: Reports of the Venom game started picking up right after the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. For the longest time, it was expected to be the next Insomniac game, until the studio announced Wolverine.

NateTheHate says that Marvel’s Venom is still in development, but he is unsure when it will be announced. It should be noted that the title was never officially confirmed but surfaced in a security breach at Insomniac in 2023

The leaked documents revealed that it was a spin-off of Spider-Man 2, with Venom as the playable character. It would explore Eddie Brock, who has been most synonymous with the symbiote, and would be voiced by the late Tony Todd.

If the game is indeed in development, it might be smaller in scope, like Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Since it seems to have been in development for multiple years at this point, we might eventually see it launch sometime next year
