Following Marvel’s Wolverine’s latest preview impressions, fresh details regarding the game’s many aspects have arrived from Insomniac. In addition to information on the game’s technical side, the team has shared more on the gameplay itself.
As per Insomniac, Marvel’s Wolverine features just one playable character.
Why it matters: Spider-Man wasn’t the only playable character in Insomniac’s last superhero games, with both Mary Jane and Miles Morales having their own small segments from the beginning.
As per head of technology Mike Fitzgerald via GamesRadar, Logan will be the only playable character in Marvel’s Wolverine.
Previously, many fans thought characters like Jean Grey would be part of the game’s playable cast, but Insomniac has confirmed that these characters will team up with Logan, albeit remaining NPCs throughout the story.
Insomniac says that its goal here was to focus on Wolverine as much as possible. Therefore, the team should be able to deliver a tightly-directed action game that delves into multiple facets of the character.
Wolverine is our only playable character.
Of course, fans should still expect to see various familiar faces throughout Marvel’s Wolverine, especially for those familiar with the X-Men universe and its many icons.
The big difference compared to how these characters were featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man, however, will be the fact that they won’t be playable, even if a playable Jean Grey sounds way more interesting than a playable Mary Jane.
