Gears of War: E-Day has seen a lot of praise, more so than most expected. The game’s initial reviews make it one of the best-rated games of the year, giving Xbox a much-needed win after the gaming giant’s return to exclusivity.

In fact, the positive word-of-mouth surrounding Gears of War: E-Day has also given the title a sales boost.

Why it matters: Recent reports raised concerns regarding the title’s launch sales, so the sudden boost is an encouraging sign.

At the time of writing, Gears of War: E-Day is currently the 4th best-selling game on Steam.

Interestingly, the title has shot up the charts today, mainly due to the positivity surrounding the game following its critic reviews. The game currently falls behind free-to-play titles like CS2 and recent hits like Ace Combat 8.

At this rate, it also wouldn’t be surprising to see it make it to the top position on the Steam best-sellers list.

Note that Gears of War: E-Day will likely see a lot of popularity across Xbox Game Pass. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the game fares once it officially rolls out to all gamers on October 6.
