Amid concerns about weak sales, an analyst suggests that Xbox shouldn’t have skipped Gears of War E-Day for PlayStation 5 consoles. Why it matters: Things are already looking bleak for The Coalition even before the release, since even the developers say that they fear they will be laid off following the game’s launch due to poor sales. He said the franchise isn’t the most mainstream, unlike Call of Duty. He believes that Xbox should have released it on the PS5 since it could have generated some much-needed revenue from the platform. Since most people already own the Sony console, they might’ve been interested. Additionally, much of the Xbox revenue will be eaten by Game Pass, so realistically the sales won’t be that high at all.
