Former Bethesda Dev Wants To See Fallout 5 Set In London or Paris

Would Fallout Outside The US Be A Good Idea?

Story Highlight

  • Former Bethesda developer Bruce Nesmith has suggested London or Paris as interesting Fallout 5 settings.
  • He believes the series does not have to be limited to the United States for its settings in future titles.
  • A non-U.S. setting would be a major shift for the series but exciting at the same time.

Bethesda has already confirmed Fallout 5 and various other titles based on the franchise, but not much is known about these projects.

In terms of potential settings, fans have speculated where the team will take the series next, and one former Bethesda developer believes that London would be quite suitable for Fallout 5.

Why it matters: Bethesda has typically stuck to the United States for its Fallout games, so the prospect of a game outside the country would be quite exciting.

Fallout Is Among Bethesda’s Biggest IPs

According to an Insider Gaming interview, former Bethesda and Fallout 4 developer Bruce Nesmith has said Fallout 5 could be “amazing” if it were set in London or Paris.

Nesmith admitted that a Fallout game outside the United States would be very tempting despite the series being deeply rooted in the country. He also suggested that the franchise could even focus on smaller locations.

The ex-Fallout developer believes a location like the Grand Canyon could fit well with Fallout’s themes and aesthetic.

New Vegas Is Being Remastered

As for London or Paris, a European Fallout setting would be quite different for the series and perhaps attract a newer fanbase altogether.
