- Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters are in development.
- They could still be in early production; for now, we don’t have a release window.
- The studio is also working on Fallout 5, which has now entered pre-production.
Xbox is undergoing a major restructuring right now, which has resulted in thousands of job cuts and the closure of multiple studios. Despite this, the gaming giant has its eyes set on the future, and Bethesda has now confirmed multiple new projects.
Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 3 and New Vegas Remasters are officially in the works. Additionally, the studio has also confirmed that Fallout 5 has entered pre-production, and a new game in the franchise by Obsidian.
Why it matters: These are going to be highly welcome remasters considering these 2 titles are widely regarded as 2 of the best in the franchise, and this will open them to a whole new modern audience.
Todd Howard confirmed that remasters for Fallout 3 and New Vegas. The studio also found great success with the recent Oblivion Remastered, and if they follow the same lines, these new ones could be excellent as well.
Unfortunately, the studio hasn’t revealed any release windows, but they could still be in early production. Reports claimed that the Oblivion Remastered took almost 4 years to develop, so we might have to wait a bit.
Anyhow, Howard has confirmed that the current focus for most of the studio is on The Elder Scrolls 6, although it still doesn’t have a release window. However, they do claim that the title already looks brilliant.
Following the layoffs, Xbox did confirm an increased focus on its core IPs like Fallout, TES, and more, and those plans already seem to be in motion. We have at least 4 Fallout projects to look forward to in the future.
