- The studio has had some misfires, but it still holds a legendary status

Xbox is in deep trouble right now, especially with the recent insane price hikes taking the Xbox to almost the same price as the PS5 Pro, and the upcoming layoffs, and we have learned which is one of the studios that could be sacrificed.
According to a recent report, Xbox is seriously considering cancelling Marvel’s Blade game and shutting down Arkane along with it. The studio is reportedly among a list of 4 others that could be shuttered for good.
Why it matters: The company is currently going through major restructuring to reestablish its image as a strong competitor in the market. It seems that will require a lot of cost-cutting in the form of employees and studios.

The Verge reports that the once-legendary Arkane is among the studios in line to be shut down. Marvel’s Blade game, whose future has always felt shaky since its 2023 announcement, will likely be canceled.
Recently, Bethesda stated that the project is alive and well and is progressing well. So, it seems that the consideration to cancel it is fairly recent. Also, this isn’t the first time either; Microsoft has canceled a game mid-development.

There are reports that State of Decay 3 could also be canceled. The other studios clinging on for life include Ninja Theory, Compulsion, Undead Labs, and Double Fine. There are reports that they will be given a chance to go independent.
