- Microsoft has increased the Xbox console prices by $100 to $150 due to the memory crisis.
- The Series X 1TB will now cost $800, while the Series will be priced at $499.
- These prices make Xbox an even less desirable option than it was before.
Memory crisis is making hardware more expensive day by day. Console gaming was known to be more accessible and cheap, but the current situation is making even consoles slip beyond most people’s budgets, and Xbox is the latest victim.
This year, both PlayStation and Nintendo increased their prices, so it was only a while before Xbox did the same. Xbox console prices have been bumped up by $100-150, and the Series X 1TB will now cost $800.
Why it matters: Xbox has been struggling with hardware, and it recently saw a bit of a light when the sales increased. But this new price means the Series X will now cost just a $100 less than the more powerful PS5 Pro.

Based on the increment, here’s how the consoles have been affected:
- Xbox Series S 512GB: $399 → $499
- Xbox Series S 1TB: $449 → $599
- Xbox Series X Digital 1TB: $599 → $749
- Xbox Series X Disc 1TB: $649 → $799
- Xbox Series X 2TB: Discontinued
This makes the Xbox less tempting than ever, and unfortunately, this isn’t even Microsoft’s fault this time around. PS5 was already the de facto console for most, and now the Pro costs almost the same as Series X.

Additionally, even the Series S 1TB costs the same as a much more powerful base PS5, despite the recent price hike. Xbox sales will likely suffer more following this, and it doesn’t seem like GTA 6 will help boost them much.
