- GTA 6 is introducing criminal profiling to replace the honor system from RDR 2.
- Your criminal profile will be based on how efficiently you commit crimes and will be unaffected by any good deeds.
- If the crimes are needlessly cruel, the game will drop your criminal profile to an unrecoverable level.
The cat is finally out of the bag as GTA 6 gameplay has hit Netflix, showcasing a stunning display of current-gen graphics and years of relentless Rockstar hard work. The game is set to be the longest story in the franchise as of yet, featuring over 80 hours of content.
Besides the incredible extended gameplay showcased by Rockstar, fans have also been captivated by the details of certain mechanics like gym workouts in GTA 6. As it turns out, Red Dead Redemption 2’s honor system will also get a similar and more in-depth tweak in the upcoming title.
Why it matters: Considering how no one plays GTA titles to be a functioning member of the community, Rockstar realising this in development and building a more practical honor system is brilliant foresight from the studio.
As revealed by YouTuber TGG, criminal profiling will be the new honor system in GTA 6, affecting gameplay based on how efficiently players commit crimes. Based on 3 hours of footage the YouTuber saw at Rockstar North, players can improve their criminal profile by being a “good criminal” who completes the task effectively without collateral damage.
Your criminal profile will increase if you rob a store quickly without killing anyone in GTA 6, rather than helping people or avoiding crimes altogether. According to TGG, Rockstar understood that no one wants to be a good guy in GTA and, as a result, linked the game’s honor system to crime alone.
Furthermore, the YouTuber also revealed that if players are being excessively murderous or cruel, their criminal profile will drop in GTA 6. Co-studio head Rob Nelson told TGG that you can reach a state in the game where your criminal profile is so low that the icon shatters, meaning there is no way to improve the metric in that playthrough.

With a map twice the size of GTA 5 and over 600,000 animations present in the title, GTA 6 is definitely going to be the most in-depth sandbox Rockstar has ever created.
